I've been loving Evoto and love how they continually add new features and improvements. And the new stray-hair removal tool is a great addition to my retouching arsenal.

It's gotta be a starting fresh for fall thing. I literally started re-editing some older work two weeks ago because I felt that same about my work. I love the Remove tool and the AI extras in Photoshop Beta. I'm also excited to try out Evoto. I'm not big on retouching so anything that makes it easier I'm all for. Another great video!

Thanks G! I’m glad it wasn’t just me who felt this way about their work. It’s really pretty cool to see how much more is possible today and how easy it was to do it. Evoto charges by the export but by using the link you’ll get 45 exports for free as a trial.

Thank you for letting us know your thoughts. Evoto is no additional cost for each update; we only have to pay for exporting. Repeated editing and exporting are cost-free. The fact that the entry threshold is low is crucial. More than 80 dollars will get you access to all the features, which is less expensive than many pieces of software.

@@JohnGress Thank you for your great photography tips. I've been having fun with PS Gen Fill. I've been amazed at what I've been able to do with some images I photographed for model portfolios. It's like my daughter says, we only have so many locations to photograph models here in Tulsa. I took this one photo of a girl downtown and she was on a white background outside in a parking lot and I created this whole upscale backyard oasis like she's modeling on the Kardashian's patio with a pool lol.

It's a brave new Ai world out there and I embrace it! My PS edits are so much faster and BETTER with these new tools. I will also be amazed to have full access to the final version at the same monthly fee. As for EVOTO? It's worth every penny for our studio as a full on beauty retouch is not needed for our portrait work. Love it!

Thanks great video! LOL I also retouched my pictures from 10 years ago. This newer pricing models where you own nothing is nuts - don't like it at all - somehow makes you feel ripped off. I prefer to use Stable Diffusion XL in my workflow, which works completely offline.

Thanks! It's pretty cool to see how much better the old images can look. I bought Final Cut Pro for $300 about 10 years ago and I have never had to pay for an update. I guess Adobe might go broke with that kind of model, but Apple makes their money off the hardware. Is Stable Diffusion XL only for creating and editing AI images or can you use it to edit your images?

@@JohnGress You can do both just be creative with it. It's way more capable than Adobe AI. I just released a proof of concept PDF guide on how to integrate real product shots into matching AI backgrounds directly in SDXL. Yes for beginners it might be overwhelming but there are easy to use User Interfaces like Invoke AI (Offline edition). If need more info and links let me know.

John's videos have always been of the highest caliber. At first glance, Evoto's pricing model appears to be frightening. In reality, it only deducts fees when exporting, and at the end of a shoot, you will only export dozens of refined images, so 1,200 credits per year is more than enough for a typical studio. In comparison to many software, the entry threshold of more than 80 is affordable

  • @JohnGress

Thanks! I was just talking about this in the comments. I average about 400 images per year so 1200 is more than enough.

@EvotoAI,@@JohnGress that's helpful to know, because my initial impression of the pricing was quite off-putting. On another note, I have used other retouching apps that seem to work well on subjects that are pretty much facing directly into the camera. But they didn't do well, when the subject was turned somewhat away, or had her head tilted etc. How well does Evoto deal with these instances?

This opens the door to 'forever' edits; going over the same photos again and again as ones taste changes over time. Not sure I like this idea. Btw, I'm not a pro photographer, so maybe my opinion doesn't mean much 😄

Oh well, maybe the saving grace is that an image probably won't be in your portfolio for more than 10 years and you're only going to change your POV a few times a decade.

I do this alot and it's fun to see the differences in editing skills over time. Using AI in my opinion nullifies the whole aspect of skill in editing - how can you feel accomplished if something else was responsible for making it look "correct"? where's the individuality in that?
