I really liked your video but the problem with substack is that all my newsletters are going into promotion tab in gmail.. Therefore, i get less than 10% open rate.. Any solution for this?

How is the deliverability rate? Does the email land in promotions ?

Medium promotes itself. SubStack promotes its authors.

Only thing I don't understand is why custome domain cost $50 on substack? Lots of other platform are free. Isn't it?

Are you still using this platform? Are you still doing free subscriptions if you are now doing both free and paid how long before you started?

They do not even have an Android app yet (only IOS), article and author recommendations are basically not existing, no matter how much information the system already has about what you like or have subscribed to. Unlike with similar platforms you cannot get access by subscribing once, instead lots of channels with quite expensive subscription rates and almost no content. Apparently you cannot subscribe without accepting newsletters and get spammed by email. I cannot imagine that people will stick with that platform under such conditions.

Here's a counter to each one of your points: They now have Android, they have a strong recommendation system, there are tons of free newsletters and most paid subscriptions also come with a free option, you can easily browse Substack and read articles without subscribing to a single newsletter/getting anything sent to your inbox. They have millions of paid subscribers and they are apart of massive change in online media distribution. They have added podcast options and are beta testing video as new media opportunities for creators. They seem to be doing pretty well!

@@BarryFranks well i removed myself from this as almost all content is optimized for monetization and not really that informative. Lots of better and free alternative there already.

@@JohannPetrak It's just not true that it's all monetized. Anyone who has spent any amount of time on the platform can find free newsletters on literally any topic.

Hey there! All Substack accounts support RSS, so if a customer comes to your page, they can just save the YOURNAME.subsctack.com URL to an RSS reader and follow along there without any emails. Hope that helps!
