Wow! What a narrative! You took the words right out of my mouth. I, too, have grown disenchanted with the USA, although it is where I found my dream through much hard work. I will always love this land of opportunity, but now I need to full another dream: go back to the Philippines where I was born and raised. My mother was a filipina; my dad was an American. Both are gone now.

Biggest culture shock that shocked when I first got here in the States is that neighbors can’t even strike a conversations, it’s surface level so sad.
Brother I hear you I'm about to come to the Philippines to retire at 42 in Baguio city, if All Americans only knew how great the Philippines is.

They don't need to. Let us locals enjoy the place, if more foreigners have more land than locals then we're doom lol. I'd hope our economy grow bigger, once the average Filipinks in main city become rich then I won't mind foreigners flock the city as long as we own the land lol. You may see me as selfish af, but I just want to see our country and local flourished. It's a better place if locals owned the place

I love how genuinely you narrate about your BGC journey as an American foreign expat living here in the Philippines and making it your home close to where roots you've grown up in your American homeland. It's nice to hear that your adventures back home and when you're still young are like recurring experiences now that you’re in BGC, which holds close to your heart. Cheers to upcoming chapters of your BGC story-telling! ❤

Excellent video brother. I nearly shed a tear. This is exactly how I feel about this country. I just started a little channel and you have inspired me to make a heartfelt piece of content like this. Thank you
Most Filipino people are welcoming and the scenery in the province has a lot to offer. On the other hand, I'd like to have a taste of the ideal USA such as living in a tree lined community, or have a coffee or tea during fall, have a long drive to visit different states and meet the nice people of different countrysides not to mention their beautiful forest parks. If I could have all in one place then it would've been a paradise.
You should think to write a book .You are a good story teller..Good job and good luck!🙂👍
I lived in Greenhills, San Juan City for the past 22 years and enjoyed it a lot. I hardly go to Makati or BGC. Recently, I had to accompany a friend who got hospitalized for 5 days in BGC and I was so impressed with what I saw there. It's as if I was transported to Taipei or Shanghai. I couldn't believe we have a world class city here in Metro Manila.

Brian, thank you for saying good things about my birth country. Yes, most filipinos does not live a luxurious life like in America but we are relisient, and patience no matter how tough life could be. The smile in every filipino’s face, friendliness and the hospitality are the characters that makes us difference from the others.
Bring tears to my eyes..The American Dream vs.Paradise... I am very grateful for America, for the $$$ that helped me to send nieces to finished colleges in PH...I hope that Pinoys get smarter whom they put in office,enough of corruption the future is shining bright if people smart up and who they will vote in their town and islands to make things possible for every Pinoy so they don't seek employment overseas

We have become smarter indeed. The general filipino populace had waken up that it's the Marcoses that we needed all along to uplift the country and our lives. That's why PBBM won the presidency in a landslide victory! So far he doesn't disappoint with his leadership, even with all these 'has been' trying to pull him down, we will see yo it that he remains president up to his term.

Eventually, a department head requested me to modify the system so that they could still perform some manual processes. They didn't want to lose their jobs. ; )-

@AngkatanNamwaran

Most Filipinos are fine with simple or basic English communication... but deeper conversations aren't possible with a lot of people, because they don't have a firm grasp on the English language the way American do. For example, if you want to have a deep philosophical discussion in English, most Filipinos wouldn't get what you're saying, or it might fly over their heads. That's why a lot of Filipinos say "nosebleed"... Obviously, there are some Filipinos who would be able to hold deep conversations in English, but you'd need to find them.
