Why I'm able to study 1,620 hours in 6 months (how to stay motivated)
👋🏻 Hey guys! In this video I'll be walking you through exactly how I was able to study 1,620 hours in 6 months for the USMLE Step 1 exam. I was able to study this hard for this long thanks to my 4 hour method of studying that I discuss in great detail in another video. I understand everyone studies differently and this is what works for me - I hope you find it useful.

1. Strict study schedule Know in advance how you will use the time during the day Clearly define the EXACTLY time at which you will work / study / do business and strictly adhere to this plan 2. Consistence is key The key skill is to learn how to produce consistent results whenever you need them. Regardless of your mood, good or bad days. 3. Learn to say NO If your good friend invites you to have coffee together, learn to say no. Do you want to play video games? But now is not the time for that - just learn to say no. Just postpone this activity for another time. Write it down on your future to do list and schedule it later. The less exception you have for "No", the more productive you will be. It's just discipline. 4. Make time for fun Be sure to plan what brings you joy and pleasure. There is no point in studying and working forever. Especially when you start to hate this process. Use this time to meet friends, read, play games. Enjoy at this time what you wrote down on your to do list later.. A change of activities is the key to a rest that "fills" you. 5. Exercise regularly This is not only important for health and beauty in the long run. Playing sports creates a large number of benefits that are invisible at first glance. it is also your investment in a pure mind. When the mental reset happens. In addition, during sports activity, the body creates a large amount of hormones. Because of what you stay longer productive, motivated. 6. Managing your stress Learn to recognize when you are stressed Find a way that suits you to deal with stress Maybe you need to talk to yourself and understand the causes of stress. Maybe call and chat with people close to you Stress never goes away, and you will have to learn how to cope with it anyway. Stress can't build up forever 7. Positive mindset Your general attitude towards your life affects everything. Deal with it How do you feel about your work or learning? How can you make your attitude work FOR you and not AGAINST you? The more reasons you like. The easier it is to do what you do 8. Focus on what’s in front of you If you focus all the time on HOW MUCH you need to do, then it is very difficult to act. Therefore, you need to make a clear plan for what your attention will be directed to for the next 24 hours. Plan your attention for the next 12 hours, 6 hours, 1 hour, 15 minutes. The better you manage your attention, the easier it will be for you to get results. The more pleasure you will get from the process Thank you for a great video!

@@gabrielmontez2531 there's also just the factor that you're in the same environment all day, the location and context is very important for memory formation. personally for me, without a change in the environment, everything becomes very monotonous, and time just feels blended into the days passing by, it doesn't feel like you're making progress, and its very hard to see exactly where you are on your journey and how much further you need to go.
It isn't even how much you study per day it's studying every single day consistently. I'll get into med school in a couple of months and seeing you thrive like this gives me motivation for my career too. 💛💛

This is really good advice! I like your idea of the 10 minute box. Sometimes I can have a perfectly productive day, sticking to my schedule until something that I can't control comes up and throws me off completely. I'll try to practice your idea and see how it goes! Personally, it would be useful if you could talk about the feelings that come up with progress (or the lack of it) once you're preparing for an exam for such a long time 😊

Update: Thanks a lot Kharma Medic. YOU motivated me to achieve anything I could. Thanks to this video I was admitted to a prestigious public university in my country. My country's ponderation system sucks, but here is how it works: 6 pts: average grade obtained from the last two school years. 4 pts: average grade scored on four tests (Literature, History, Maths and English). 4 pts: extra, non-obligatory subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Technical Drawing and, again, Maths). Out of this 14 pts, i needed to score at leats 12.57 pts (the previous year's cut-off mark) to enter my own desired degree, which was Maths and CS. Well, I was able to get not that, but a 13.004/14. Maybe I had put enough work into obtaining this personal academic achievement, but you my friend were the person who made me throw away my phone and sit down to face these last days of such a complicated challenge. Once again, thank you for finding me. And thanks to KZread's algorithm for making itself useful!!
