The 8th Wonder has defined and redefined cinema for over 90 years now, but is one of his more recent films the best in his catalog? I sure think so, come see if you agree!

Peter Jackson’s King Kong is the real deal.
the fact it was directed in New Zealand by Peter Jackson in my country was amazing this King Kong was the best version.
The fact that King Kong makes me bawl my eyes out every time i see it says everything. I feel just like Anne in the movie, floored, flattened by the big guys horrible death. The scenes between Anne and Kong are just beautiful and poetic. I start crying toward the end when Kong mimicks Annes unwitting sign language for "Beautiful."
There's so much heart in this. Beautiful essay, my friend.
This is my favorite King Kong movie since Peter Jackson directed Lord of the Rings.
Excellent points throughout this vid! This is my personal favourite recent King Kong film, even with its tremendous length. Even now, it would make a great half of a double bill with Godzilla Minus One.

That’s a good idea.
I remember watching this when I was younger and completely loving it especially the ice skating scene and the tower scene. Like I wanted to be her so bad 😭. Anyway, I felt that this movie had a heart and it wasn’t just made for money.
This isnt just a monster movie, every time I watch this movie Im left feeling something...that doesnt happen with most movies let alone a "monster flick"...that last line "twas beauty that killed the beast" always makes me ponder what this movie is really saying...and its a great classic movie you can watch on a sunday afternoon with the family...without a doubt head and shoulders above 90 % of other movies
Peter Jackson Kong is my second favorite version of Kong. Monster Verse Kong is my number one favorite version of Kong. I too saw this King Kong remake in theaters as a kid.
It's certainly the best remake of a film- you can tell how much they loved the original.
Amazing work- your final words on fate and the exploration of such complex, human questions are exactly what adventure films like this should inspire in all of us!!! Games pretty sick, too.
I like the 2005 version as well.
Peter Jackson's King Kong is easily the best version of King Kong even after seeing him in the monsterverse
If there is a movie that is in dire need of a sequel or spinoff, it is Peter Jackson's King Kong.
I Remember seeing it in theaters back in december 2005 and i was six

Thanks Laci!
Loved Peter Jackson's version ❤
One of my favorite movies!!
I LOVE KING KONG 2005 SO MUTCH IS A SPECIAL MOVIE TO ME!!
4:24 The movie’s composer is James Newton Howard, not James Horner. But you’ve done a great review of a beloved piece of childhood nostalgia for me, nonetheless. I grew up being enthralled with this version of King Kong ever since I was very little and it also served as my introduction to Peter Jackson…who has also instilled in me through this film and in the LOTR trilogy a passion for action-and-adventure, creature-design and world-building that continues to this day.
Excellent video! Except for one big detail; the musical score was composed by James Newton Howard (Signs, Blood Diamond, Dinosaur, Treasure Planet, Peter Pan, Maleficent, Hunger Games, Last Airbender, etc), not James Horner (Titanic, The Land Before Time, Star Trek the Wrath of Khan, An American Tail, Cocoon, etc).

yeah I realized I flubbed that line after the upload 😞
Greatest dinosaur movie ever! The V Rex is my spirit animal
I love this and the original equally, for different reasons. Both are amazing, and I enjoy the game for the Jackson version as well
I really do enjoy Peter Jackson's King Kong. In fact, it makes me appreciate the original Kong film even more.
It's underrated! One of the best movies ever made. Everything you said is so fucken right.
The 1933 is the original classic, a masterpiece but the Kong in the 2005 version you could really connect with thanks to the modern CGI, I agree that the 2005 moved everything forward.
I loved everything about PJ's King Kong except for one thing: Jack Black. Yeah I know. Funny thing is I consider Jack Black to be a world treasure...

That’s funny because I feel like my whole personality is essentially just Jack Black in this movie 😂
If It was not for this movie i would never have seen original 1933 i love this movie too
I love all the Kong films, but this is my favorite.
My favorite King Kong, even with it's excesses.
Great video! This film for me really was the ONE that started my love and passion for films.
This is the best King Kong movie no doubt.
Look how cute you were as a little baby actor!!!
I watched this to death when it was in cinemas and it’s a treat when I watch it at home today. It’s a big love letter to the original. It’s intimate and romantic, yet huge in scale with high-octane action. Honestly, this film needs more love. Great video expressing your love for it too!
I agree
king kong 2005 is my fav movie, best movie I've ever seen in my life
Great insight dude! New subb!
I was seven when Peter Jackson's King Kong was released in theaters. I was too young at the time but then when I saw it years later it left an emotional impact on me.
I love king kong 2005 at whan i was 3 years old ❤
My favorite part of the movie is the fauna many of the creatures are speciation meaning the creature are somewhat futuristic and could happen in the right conditions
Movie of my childhood
The scene on the ice is a tragic scene. This creature lived his whole life and it appears as though this was his first opportunity at having fun. He was laughing as he spun around on the ice, laughing with Ann, only to have the moment destroyed by people who just don't get it. I loved this movie, but at the same time, this movie brings something out in me that I don't like. It reiterates to me how morally corruptable the human race is. It shows me the true levels of evil that the human race has the potential for. It reiterates in me why I hate people and care more for animals than humans.
Peter jacksons stuff is g.o.a.t, his king kong and his l.o.t.r trilogy are works of art that will never be surpassed.
PJ's Kong made me bawl like a baby when i first saw it!! Brilliant movie!!❤
I loved this movie because of the video game associated with it 😅
Yes there is an almost LORD OF RINGS sense of fate about this version of KING KONG. (I also think her choosing to go on the journey was because of Driscol as well as because she has nothing to lose) Without charm NO Version of KING KONG works, I can see both human features & facial reactions in Kong's face, where they made the most of the CGI format (notice how there are far more facial reactions than in the original, which was a wise decision to do that). Real life Gorillas don't & probably can't make as many face reactions, BUT it works so well in this film to see something human there
I wish monsterverse Kong was more animalistic like this
Yea, now this is The Best Kong movie ever made. I would even say The Game of the movie is also one of the Best based on a movie. They should have remade or Remastered this in stead of that stupid Skull Island The Rise of Kong....

I absolutely agree! We are getting a game hopefully later this year called “Project Ferocious” that the creators said was very heavily inspired by that King Kong game so, that’s something! Also the graphics on it look great!

@@terminurtle wow sounds great. Have to check it Out. Thanks.
THE Kong movie.
7:18
The 30's movie may be dated but at least it's not 2 hours longer than it should be... 😅😂
KING KONG => 1976
Three mistakes in my opinion...Thomas Kretschman should have played the hero...They should have skipped the big bug crevice...It was too long, by the time they get to NYC the original was already at the top of the Empire State Building. There were things I loved, for example the battle with the 3 T-Rex's.
Why are you taking bad about carl denham carl denham is not a bad Guy in this version maybe if you were talking about fred wilson from King Kong 1976 or the Carl denham of the cancelled King Kong 1996 than your comparison would make more sense but it doesn’t
@terminurtle

While Carl Denham is certainly not an antagonist in this film, he his certainly a morally corrupt character who puts a lot of people's lives in danger, most of the crew dying from this escapade on the island. I certainly love Jack black in this role and I think his character has a lot of charm and charisma but he is what he is, I didn't feel like I talked too badly about him, but the facts are there.
Too much bad CG
I loved King Kong in 2005, I enjoyed it!!
