I remember playing Patapon about 6 or 7 years back on my dads PSP with my sister. I loved the music and the artstyle, it was really fun

This was a really great video. I feel like a lot was covered and now I have a better idea of what the game has to offer. I also appreciate that you discussed the drawbacks, I always feel like a review is really good when the reviewer is able to discuss drawbacks of a game instead of just gushing about it.

To be honest, i think 2 was the only really good one. 1 and 3 were grinding and frustrating mess.

@@sebastianaliandkulche i personally like 3, Patapon 2, while less so, wasn't exactly totally free from grinding. Hell, i still get stuck in a few spots on a normal playthrough of it, (Zaknel,At Ground Zero, Ghoul Gate Bababaan, Parabola of Hope, the obligatory frickin Meden Mission they stole from the first game,Zugagang, and DettanKarmen) Also i think the story of patapon 2 kinda suffers cause it was. Trying to be patapon Version 2 not Patapon the sequel. Not to say Patapon 3 is without the grinding sin, but silver lining to grinding: You train your class skills alongside increasing your level, class skills, making every class that can also utilize that class skill so much better (and gives you a bit less of a grind later lol, it was worth it Training Tatazeray up to a high energy shield level earlier on when i knew i wanted Guardia as my UH was worth it lol, Made stuff easier lol If you're just trying to brute force tho, yeah you're gonna suffer, lemme tell ya, Brute Forcing Tower of Vanity's Second Floor? Absolute pain. Going in after like, an hour or two of grinding the necessary class skills? Less pain, maybe it'll sting a bit, but less pain. Maybe it's just me on P3's gameplay But the story compared to 1&2 is like, so good It gives ya mysteries ya end up wanting to follow Who was ragewolf?? Who is Naughtyfins? Why did gong take the mask? And many others, some of which get solved, some of which are left to speculation and that's fine, makes it more fun to figure out Ragewolf might be (y'know lol)

@@MamaTrixxieAsmr I personally think the story in 1 was better, mostly because of the zigotons. Yeah the story in 2 wasnt anything special, but in the last levels the flashbacks tells you interesting things. In Patapon 3 there where plenty of things that remains unexplained and the game ends very forcely (i mean, thats earthend? What a dissapointment). Also, there´s a lot of characters that dont return like Ormen Karmen (that he said he would come back) or Queen Kharma. You can beat Patapon 2 without grinding. Level 1-Level 5 units are pretty cheap and useful for normal playthrougs. Patapon 2 has one of the highest caps of strenght for your team i ever seen in an RPG, and while grinding to max your team can take forever (i played 400 hours and still there´s a lot of rarepons i have to max to lvl10), since you can beat the game without doing so (in fact, i never backtracking anytime compared to Patapon 1 and 3), i personally like it since it gives you a reason to always come back to the game, and make your team stronger, and compared to 1, the units dont die permanently. If in 1 a ultimate rarepon dies permanently you can waste a lot of time to recover it, i dont kidding, like half hour or more depending on what point of the game you are. The items that a boss throw dont compensate the dead units. Patapon 2 units are more expensive, yes, but they dont work like a rental like in 1, they are permanent. You have to beat a boss like 5 times or more to recover the lost items. And with Patapon 3, the grinding isnt bad if you use broken classes, but is still frustrating to grind due to a lot being useless, and the fact that the exp doesnt get increased sometimes. In Patapon 2 all of the classes had an purpose, and while some have an exploitable weaknesses also had an ability very useful to compensate that weaknesses, except other ones like the kanokko that were purely all around, still useful for tribe levels. PS: I dont know how did you get stucked at Zaknel, he is pretty easy and is the boss with the most stagger weakness.
