Cambodians are open minded people despite the war genocide and all the problems. Generally they welcome people who respect their culture and who want to learn or speak their language. In Cambodian culture, people tend to connect to their family and relatives and welcome friends. In countrysides people tend to be more friendlier than people in the cities. You can go there and experience yourself. Cheers

Definitely will do.
Always thought Phnom Penh was larger than that. Thanks for enlightening us.
I loved Phnom Penh when I came for a visit. I stayed in a nice hotel down near the river with a rooftop bar and pool. Surprisingly, it wasn't at all too expensive. I was surprised how easy it was to get a visa, I got mine at the airport when I arrived, didn't have to order it or anything beforehand. I was also surprised that most people spoke English and at how friendly everyone was. Also the fact that they use U.S. dollars as a currency. I actually went there on a visa run from another Asian country that I was living in, I expected to stay for just a few days but that turned into almost two weeks. Having lived in another Asian country where a lot of people don't speak English and are sometimes not so friendly, my visa run to Cambodia blew me away. I really wanted to stay. Unfortunately, sometime later I had to return to my own country, which is where I am now, but I miss living in Asia so much. I am seriously thinking about retiring in Phnom Penh, not sure how that would work out. Nice video, I liked the humour. Take care.
Way to go dude (man), Ryan! Nice to see you’ve found a purpose in life😁
All the people are welcome to Cambodia 🇰🇭

Singers? There seem to be a lot of charities around- how and who should I actually support? Pets - adoption? Care? Recipes? Any advice on learning Khmer? Schools? Finding tutors? I really love your local travel vids too (kamphot, koh rong, etc) Cambodia seems so undiscovered- I’d love to learn about other cool places to visit too. Thanks again! Watch these videos and read the descriptions. kzread.info/head/PLKDIXWmwq80hqzMapz9H3OxuqPBULaAqG There's contact info for agents that can help you, plus website links. A lot of places will want to do a year long lease, but the agents will help you find some that don't require it. Some condos that I know will do short term: jtower1, queen mansion, residence 105, kc apartment. You can probably find contact info for them on Google maps and then call them. Also, check airbnb. If the listing says what building it is, or if you can figure it out, you can contact them directly for a better deal. Good luck.

Yes. Cigna. I think health insurance is a scam though. Apparently Cigna is good, but they made me pay for a checkup, which should be free once a year, but it was deemed not a checkup because of the way the doctors labeled it on the receipt. They couldn't tell me what exactly the problem was. They said it's determined by a guy that works for them and there's no way I can determine if any future checkups will be considered checkups before I bill them. If I see the washing machine in your back than I know why I live in bangkok. I really love Phnom Penh but if I compare it to bangkok than almost everything in PH is more expensive. Comparable Condos costs in Phnom Penh 3 times like in Bangkok. The Food in the food courts is more expensive. Even simple restaurants like pepper lunch are more expensive in Phnom Penh than in Bangkok. What's really is cheaper is to drive a Tuk Tuk and drink a draft beer that's until now the only thing I find cheaper in Phnom Penh than in bangkok
@itchyfeetonthecheap

The housing costs is a big one, but Bangkok is HUGE compared to PP, with many areas to live. If you compare the housing costs in BKK1 (PP's most expensive area) to whatever the equivalent is in Bangkok (maybe Siam). You'll find that the costs aren't that much different. We pay $750 for 75 square meters ($10/meter). Find me a place in Bangkok's most expensive area, that has a pool and gym, for that price.

Not sure about the visa, but you can easily find a place in a day or 2. They accept usd and they would probably expect you to pay the first month's rent, plus a month's rent as a deposit. Apartments have hot water in the shower, some have it in the bathroom sink, and a few have it in the kitchen sink.
No problem with crime. Awesome!
