What do you think a film critic should be looking for when judging a film and writing a review?

Film critics should be looking for the messages and the directors storytelling thru his visuals and Dialogue without being biased. Bvs is visually beautiful and snyder uses poetic diolgue in it. Bruce Wayne poetic speech in the beginning tells the mindset of his characters you. He uses his visuals to tell his story and and focus on the characters internal struggle. I look thru the mocie with the directors eyes thru visuals and character development and message we can take we the movie ends. Bvs theme was about determining what is Justice? What is good? I learned that justice isn't just about punishing people(Batman) its about helping people became better than what they are(Superman) at the end he Sacrifices himself like christ did for a world that didn't want him. Batman views on humanity has changed and believe man are still good.! The movie begins and ends with a funeral. The beginning was the birth of Batman and the last was the rebirth of Batman. Man if Steel was about Birth. Bvs was about death and Zack snyders Justice League was about resurrection

Film critics should try to analyze why certain controversial aspects of the film exist (Eisenberg’s Lex, Batman’s killing, etc) instead of getting angry at them existing.

They critics should try to enjoy the movie and answer “what type of person may like this movie?” “What is the movie asking?”

Example Mario movie 2023, “will kids and parents love this movie?”, “Can a small guy prove his worth and save his brother (and city)?” “Can Luigi let go of his fears?”

Thanks for keeping me honest! :) I went back-and-forth about how to present this so many times. I even started recording voiceovers a long time ago and it just was going to take too much time to edit everything the way I would have wanted to do it. Live Streaming will be much more effective for me and I hope engaging for anyone who wants to participate. See you Sunday and please bring your thoughts!

Thanks for sharing this project ❤. I think Wakanda Forever is boring, and then looked into the Rotten Tomatoes extract of the reviews, and some (counted as) “positive” reviews, weren’t not positive at all. Or at least I think some mix reviews shouldn’t have count on either side. I can’t blindly trust the critics judgement anymore. Same case with Mario movie. It is like most critics do not watch the movie to have a fun time, rather to find reasons why the movie didn’t work…

Gate keepers and Taste makers make me sick.
