You probably know that soft-spoken, calm, polite, elegant, classy, and refined are traits that Japanese people highly value, whether in architecture, clothing, cuisine, design, or social interaction. Japan is not meant for everyone, but for those who can instinctively sense the comfort in the air will be a good match with Japan.

I’m a Japanese living in Germany,,, where I enjoy my life but your video brings me some sentiment that I miss in my day to day life being driven by “business” and reminds me of “small piece” I had in Japan. Thanks for great videos.

Thank you for the beautiful video. First and foremost, as a Japanese person, I would like to congratulate you on embarking on this significant journey in Japan. You mentioned cultural differences in your video. While Germans and Japanese are often said to share traits like discipline and rigidity, I believe there are significant differences, particularly in the culture of discussion and debate. Of course, as you mentioned, there are both positive and negative aspects to these cultural differences. Embracing and incorporating these differences might be challenging, but I sincerely hope that your dreams come true.

I’m from America, Visited Japan awhile ago, in my opinion Japan probably one of the best country to live in because it is so peaceful, they care about nature sense of high morale to society and many more. I am seriously love your channel because you shoot so many about nature scenes and I love nature very much can’t live without it. I am so desperate to live away from chaos society like the US. Have a good day.

The longer you live there the more hypocrisy you’ll see. The Japanese love their disposable chopsticks. And in order for them to have them Indonesian Rainforests are being mowed down to provide them. When you ask Japanese people why they don’t cut down their own trees to supply their disposable chopsticks they reply “But our forests are sacred!”

As a German after my first visit to Japan I liked it a lot more than Germany. Now after 8 visits I've got a better picture and see a lot of good and bad things in both countries. It's really about what you value in life. I'll move there next year and will see what life has in store for me there.

Hey Nini, wonderful video. what a happy coincidence it was to see your video on my front page. In 2017 we were in the same language school with EF in Shibuya. we even had a class together. I was a very insecure person at the time and you took me out shopping in Harajuku to help me with fashion and gave me tips, and we got lobster sandwiches after !! i remember this day still quite fondly. you might not remember at all, i recognize that! it was long ago! but i was happy to see this video and know that you are doing well. Congratulations on your house and new home in Japan. I wish you further success and happiness in life.

I visited Kyoto in the mid-60s while in the military in Korea. I managed to rent a bicycle to tour. I recall the many tall wooden structures which I presumed to be sacred. I marveled at the cleanliness and order of Japan. I took the bullet train back to Tokyo. How do you manage financially. PS I am a US expat living in Baguio, Philippines since 2015.

You remind me of myself when I was your age: idealistic, being self-conscious, meditating, valuing happiness, not focusing only on our job career, emphasis on organic foods and the environment. I have held on to all these values and at age 73 possess some wisdom in achieving some happiness, etc. You are doing a great job with your channel and I hope to help you achieve your goal of building community, supporting you and your subscribers.

I would love to visit Japan and spend some time in a traditional Japanese house - much like where you are staying. Japanese culture has the best sense of aesthetics and I find their art, architecture, garden design etc. breathtaking. As a Buddhist, I also like the fact there is a strong Buddhist influence in Japanese culture (although myself - as a meditator - I am more into the Thailand/Myanmar/Sri Lankan Theravadan). Looking forward to more videos of Japanese culture to inspire my next overseas travel perhaps? 🙂
