I agree! Starbucks needs to pay their baristas way more, especially if they work in a drive-thru store. Drive thru makes it 100x more stressful and busy, it's insane.

I worked at Starbucks as my college part time job at 17. I ended up finishing college and wanted to go into my major - the health career so I planned on leaving. Turns out I had gotten pregnant a few months before graduation and every job in the health department wouldn’t hire a 4 month pregnant lady or even offer paid maternity leave or any type of health care benefits before my child would be born. So I went full time with Starbucks and got 100% paid maternity leave for 8 weeks plus 2 weeks nesting time. Yes the pay kinda sucks but I wasn’t expecting to be paid in full while having a child at Starbucks and it was amazing that I did get that great benefit. I ended up having both of my children while employed there because the maternity was so great. My two boys are 15 months apart, I’ve been a partner for 2 1/2 years. I’m being promoted to shift as soon as I get back from my maternity break. I miss working and I stop by often for drinks and to visit. Being promoted will allow me to put a key holder position on my resume and help me find a higher paying job in the future. We had drama/stressful times too but I was able to ignore it and focus on why I was really there- great benefits for my family.

That is pretty awesome about the benefits. I'm glad you were able to make it work for you. I am 46 years old now and just got hired at a Starbucks, so back when I was young, my food service jobs didn't have the benefits, and I just assumed that the correct plan would be to get a degree, and then get a better job of course. Which I did. But It's really cool to read stories like yours

The verbal abuse was a nightmare. The customers were just so nasty especially if you’re the cashier. “Hey I want a grade latte. You know what that is, right?” Like.... really? I get you’re a miserable human being, but do you have to make it known to EVERYONE?

missironmouse try the abuse from the managers the customers are always so nice to me it was the managers that would pull me in back of the store and tell me what a piece of shit person I am and that like I basically am worthless yeah they definitely are verbally abusive and I have occasionally had that one customer where I'm like oh my God so please tell me how your drink is wrong after me making it for the 4th time

Ive had customer throw drinks at me through the window and honestly if it weren't for my favorite regulars and coworkers I would have left.

I’ve been at Starbucks for 4.5 years now, treated worse now than the day I started. Management is a mess, this company DOES NOT care about its employees whatsoever. Stay in school! These jobs pay so little and the stress you go through is not worth it at all

been with starbucks 3.5 years, 2 as an SSV. couldn't agree more. it's so much worse for shifts honestly. so much shit to deal with, horrible management, favoritism, not enough pay.. My manager said "you're just a barista right now" that's when I was like okay, fuck this shit, I'm out this time, don't have time for this womans childish unprofessional games.

4 and 1/2 years?? Wow you are a trooper. The longest I worked at food service was almost 4 years at McDonald's. also, not sure if anyone will read this, but would you give two weeks notice? Or just call and say hey, I've got something else going on that I have to do right away, and just quit? I've always given an employer notice, but I feel like for a job that pays only minimum wage, no time off until you're there a year, under 30 hours a week, I can just drop it and not feel too guilty.

I worked at starbucks for 3 months and had to quit because it was too stressful for me to remember how to make all of the drinks 😭 & I felt like everyone had super bubbly/outgoing personalities and I just didn’t fit in. It’s definitely not for everyone

I worked at Starbucks for over 3years and it was a good job but I didn’t get full time hours as it was in a grocery store but u don’t have to be super outgoing but be personable and friendly to customers , I was always making sure customers were satisfied and I made the most perfect caramel macchiatos lol and I still remember all the drinks after awhile you get really fast at making drinks

I just did a Starbucks work experience program and I quit in the middle of it due to it being too stressful to balance with me being a full time student in school. I didn’t really enjoy the training that much. It’s just too much to remember all the duties as a barista

I just started working at a smaller coffee shop in my area and it is my first time working as a barista and I love it! I love how easy going and chill smaller shops are, at this point I couldn't even imagine working in a place like Starbucks!

Smaller shops are more chill because you can do things the way that make you feel comfortable and not forced to do things their way. Starbucks is a big corporation and they make you do things their way and make you a robot. While small companies treat you like a human being

expectation: "I'll come home smelling like coffee!" reality: *comes home smelling like bad milk and cinnamon dolce*

i’ve worked at starbucks for over 2yrs now and personally for me my main issues are that the customers are SO entitled and, secondly, how fast paced it is because of my anxiety struggles. it’s really rough and i cant wait til i finish my degree so i can move on

Jillian Carissa lol ok. Being a barista is considering doing art. The amount of work they put into a drink for $3-6 makes it an ok price. If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. Just because your paying for a drink doesn’t make you entitled.

I’m tempted to leave honestly.

I got my job at Starbucks about a month ago, and honestly I’m super disappointed and stressed. Some of my co workers are very nice and helpful while others are rude and act like I’m a burden for them. Honestly, I always feel like I’m left out, and no one talks to me when I try to make any conversations with anyone. Also my manager sucks. I like the job itself but I want them to be friendly and helpful. I want them to bear with me and not act like I’m an alien. I will definitely quit working at Starbucks.... it’s just not for me.

I just started almost a few months ago and like you, I wanted to quit after a month in. It’s gotten a lot easier but, the superiority complex with some of these partners are just insane. They can be so demeaning/rude and you feel like you can’t complain about it cause you’re new. During peak, it’s absolute hell.

I’m actually really happy that you didn’t just bash Starbucks like most people would do. You actually listed a lot of pros and didn’t constantly bring up the cons. You kept them separate and also made sure that we knew you were talking about YOUR experiences. This is an awesome video!

The training has really dipped in the last year or two. It’s super frustrating and probably why most people are complaining they just started and don’t get any bar experience. The training isn’t as through as before and people come on the floor less prepared so they end up with the easier jobs. It feels like the company is moving away from making sure their partners are knowledgeable but rather replaceable.

I’m on my 6 months, however I work at Starbucks in a travel plaza. We’re constantly busy and I had 3 weeks training then I was on my own. I hated learning register too. However it’s getting better every day.

I worked at McDonalds and the stress levels in a busy store are insane. I had managers leave during lunch rush to get high, leaving me as the only person bagging orders. ANY business that is quick service (whether it's coffee or food) is going to have stress because patrons who NEEEEEED that coffee or egg mcmuffin are pushy and have no perspective.

You wanna know y they made money cuts to where it matters now on the floor it is under staff managers don't get breaks. If u complain they say we'll spend ur time better but when u only have a couple people work on the floor it's hard with the crazy drink orders so yea we r crazy buzy might not look it or you might think its easy but oh boy u are wrong. Plus the way some people treat you. I wish they could b in my shoes just for a hour haha but Starbucks is a great place to work it's just the little things that can bring a day down. Its a love hate relationship haha

True, when I worked there, I concentrated on surviving busy times of which there were a lot in San Diego. I would have loved to connect with customers more like I did with regulars, but it just wasnt possible, I'm glad I dont work there anymore, but there were a lot of lessons I took from working there.

It’s so true. I worked there for a little over a month and it was a nightmare. My manager was cool when I started but when it became clear I wasn’t feeling the job she started to become passive aggressive and made it very uncomfortable. I also had this coworker who was about 20 years older than me and she would stress me out on the regular because she was so high strung about literally everything. At least 10 times a shift she would be up my ass about some little thing like how to “properly” open a trash bag or hitting a button on my register to show that we were busy (the receipt question at the end of the transaction). The customers were another issue entirely.... don’t get me started. All in all my store was filled with drama, backstabbers, and drama... oh wait I said that. So glad I ran.

I worked at a Starbucks and quit after 3 months. The people I worked with weren’t very friendly. They didn’t train enough and threw me on the floor first day even though I didn’t know where all the buttons on the screen were and the line kept getting backed up because of it. Customers called drinks out of their names and got irritated when I didn’t understand. The stress was too much. Train better and longer and there wouldn’t be a problem.

All Of Ashley I'm pretty sure its just my location bc its in the mall and its holiday season but the reason I wanted the job was because it seemed like a fun place to work and the employees seem to all be friends. I trained at a different store and everyone was super nice and helpful and patient with me but when I got to my store the majority of co-workers are rude and act like I'm in the way when I'm not sure what to do. The BOH is disgusting, I see roaches daily. Its just really different than anticipated and I wish I had chosen a different store. But! I will say that I enjoy learning about coffee and it teaches you to be patient and organized.

That honestly just sounds like a location issue...I loved my old store in California, and I just moved to a new store in Pennsylvania and everyone is awesome! Maybe look into a different location, or give it another try and be really proactive in wanting to learn. Sometimes it takes a little bit for people to warm up to others...especially in a crazy job and time of year!

I really enjoyed your video! I've been with Starbucks for 18 years and I found all of your comments to be relatable and true! For someone who is new or considering working for Starbucks, this video is an honest and fair review. Good luck in your future business ventures. I would love to have my own shop. As a long term partner I've found ways to be creative. I love inventing new drinks and I share them with coworkers and suggest them to customers with positive results. So that's fun. A con of being a long term barista for any company is repetitive motion injury. I kept it at bay until just the last couple of years and it's become a problem. Just a little extra insight, there. I was very shy as a new partner, too, and had to be coached to speak up. I've become much more confident and better with people in my time at Starbucks. That has been beneficial in all areas of life. Thanks again! ☕

that's why i left! people would go outside and disappear. My store had a drive through and the people that would be on front cashier, DTO and window would leave, while i was making drinks, then i'd have to DTO, do the window and front. LIKE it was a mess. And the people that would leave were the manager's favorites, that's another thing the manager showed favoritism. I worked there two years as well, left... then thought i missed it, went back for two days and was QUICKLY reminded why I left. That level of stress isn't worth the pay.

I’m working at a Starbucks drive through, it’s the most stressful thing ever. There’s been a few times I’ve wanted to just walk out, the management is awful and the customers are so rude! There’s a few times I’ve been left on DT Window too and i just go home and cry after a shift. The hours are soooo long! 5am to 3pm or 3pm to 12am

I’ve been with Starbucks for 2 years now and I love it! My first year was horrible though. I was at a horrible store with negative partners, rude customers, and nobody wanted to help. My new store opened 1 year ago and it’s been the greatest year! All of my coworkers are so helpful, positive and fun. It is a lot to learn but it all comes to you over time

Most of what Taylor said depends on who you work with. For example, I'm 16 right now and working at Starbucks and I love it. I started out just like her and I'm also the youngest. There is no drama, and we're not restricted on what we wear or anything. They only thing they try and make you aware of is how loud you are because of the fact that many people go to Starbucks to concentrate and do work. All of the people I work with are very open and happy. We work as a family and whenever someone is down we make drinks for them or get them food from outside our job. The ones who have been there longer take the less experienced people, me for example, under their wing and teach, explain and show them tricks as well as the ways of Starbucks. The ones who train new people go as far as making charts and taking multiple days to one-on-one train them. Because I'm the youngest, I work the fewest hours (12hrs/week) and earn roughly $30 in tips each week. People even come in just to tell us they love our story and how open and friendly we are and that we make amazing drinks. In all, it really just depends on who you work with.

jasmine deleon that sounds a lot like my location! Only recently things have been a little stressful, we’ve had quite a few of our reliable baristas and shifts leave or transfer and it’s been hard. We got a new ASM and god has it been rough. The whole energy in the store has changed, no one is really excited to be there anymore but we all still have each others back. And the customers still love us. So despite the recent changes, our store sounds a lot like yours!

Tbh same a lot of the people who hate their job at Starbucks is because of their coworkers and not the job itself. I can honestly say my Starbucks has a great team and we all love each other with the exception of one person but other than that it’s really your coworkers who make or break the job and less of the job itself.

it might have to do with locations and such too? a store in a more remote area is different than a store in the middle of NY or LA where they get a mix of business ppl, tourists, crazies and everyday ppl. i’m glad your experience was a good one tho!

Haha I clicked because I used to work for them. I can relate to a lot of what you said. I worked at one with a drive thru and it was double the stress. Especially when partners would call out. I remember running drive thru alone. Customers could also be rude. Patience is a must for this place. Glad you’re expanding your horizons :)

I worked for the bux for almost 7 years. I was a shift for about 4. Im so glad I'm done with that place.

You’re so right! I’m in a very high trafficked location and the stress is literally causing me health issues. Benefits or not I’m looking for a way out because I need insurance. The costumers can be so rude and entitled it’s mind boggling.

I like that you mentioned you needed to study for your job, YES you should study for any job! Great advice for young people

Working for small places is so nice. My first 2 jobs were for big places and we're really hectic. When I worked at Canadian Tire I ended up crying behind the customer service desk. Now I work for a local convenience store that's owned by people who grew up in my small town and they own this store and only this store. No dress code (which is awesome cause I express myself through clothes very much so), one free food thing for lunch/dinner when on shift, free tea and coffee all day, so many compliments! Since I started here a week ago I have had SO many middle to old aged women say they love my hair. I have one dress that gets a lot of compliments. It is such a self confidence boost lol. And I recognize a lot of people who I can take time to chat with instead of rushing through a huge line of customers. Working for a smaller or local business is so much nicer especially for people with anxiety - like I have.

I worked there for 3 weeks then never went back lol it was so awful. First of all in my interview I said I was looking for at least 30 hours a week, manager said that would be fine but when I started working I was only scheduled 13 hours a week, every week. One main reason I wanted to work there was the college program and you need at least 20 hours a week to do that. They also never actually trained me, I cried every shift cause I felt so stupid like I was just in the way since I had no clue what to do. Every shift they ended up just making me do trash and dishes the entire time

Im sorry to hear that Sam! If i had been your supervisor I would've given you good training and let you do more than just the dirty work!!

Starbucks was my first job and I have to say it was ok for a while but the management was extremely unreliable and as a student that is just horrible.

I worked at Starbucks for 4 years and in 3 countries : France, Canada and now UK. Now, I really want to leave because I am just done. No gratefulness... quite a stressful job. I have been supervisor and the company’s expectations are very high and you feel like abused etc

I just started about a month ago and I haven’t even been on bar. The staff is so understaffed that they have me on customer support or doing the cleaning. My coworkers are okay but when I ask them questions they make me feel dumb. The place I work at is always busy and I feel so overwhelmed because they throw me at register. I feel so exhausted working there. I don’t know if I want to continue. Is it so bad to quit after a month? 😪

A month in I still wanted to quit, but It gets easier so I would push through. Give it a solid 6 months then see how you feel after that! Keep pushing through!

I worked at Starbucks for 7 years and 3 were as a shift. I think people who have never worked before Starbucks (mainly teens) have to temper their expectations in any job... it’s work. Starbucks has benefits that most employers don’t offer including competitive wages for zero experience. Not everyone works in a job where tips are part of the culture so even “sucky” tips should be appreciated. The cleanliness and sanitary practices mentioned here are standard in any food establishment. As someone who had to worry about making rent and buying food for my family, Starbucks was all it ever promised to be: a job with room for advancement, retirement plans, benefits etc. I suppose if you are someone who lives at home with Mom and dad you can turn your nose up at these things but what starter jobs offer teenagers a perpetual playground and substantial pay? I learned this trick that makes any job (and life for that matter) easier: find something or multiple things you love about your job. Sorry kiddos but no matter what job you are in there is some sleeve rolling to be done and in the end you either learn to love something about what you do for a Check or always be discontented in any employment.

Definitely agree. On my 3rd year, great company.

For me... working at Starbucks as my first job has been a great experience.. like.. its changed me literally.. but like u said.. the hardest part about Starbucks is the immensly overwhelming stress... I feel like a part of my soul dies every 8-hour shift I do. The strict rules work for me since Starbucks or even being a barista isn't my end goal, and it gives me an insight of what working under a big company is like.. I got lucky tho since my store has a pretty good number of co-workers of my age.. even tho some of them are very odd and it is enraging when someone calls out and we all suffer..

Yes! Lots of female coworkers = lots of drama. I hate to say it, but it's so true.

So. So. True. And It's so unfortunate.

I'm really thankful for my job at Starbucks. I've been there for about 2 years and only about six months in my store manager along with the shifts were all saying I should move up in the company. Previously, I was disrespected SO MUCH by managers at other jobs and I never understood why since I tried so hard. (Barely asked for anything, always wanted to fix myself if I felt I wasn't good enough). While I don't think I want to get too...trapped in the corporate world of Starbucks, it's a wonderful feeling to be truly appreciated for doing my best and know I can always count on my managers when I need them. They helped me realize I actually am a good worker and deserve to be recognized for that.

A friend of mine worked at (British) Starbucks and literally after every shift she would just kinda collapse. Once I was meeting her after work to go shopping and we just sat in a coffee shop for about an hour before we started simply because she was dead on her feet. She also has anxiety. She started to develop it around that time so I swear working at Starbucks didn't help.

Your training sounds like it was so much better than mine, I felt dumb every time I would ask a question & they didn’t even teach me the details like date dotting & all that stuff. I worked there for almost 2 years & just quit this month. There was so much drama it was ridiculous🙄. I get the benefits are good but the experience I had at my location was just so negative that it wasn’t even worth the benefits. I actually sometimes wanted to cry before I would go to my shifts & I agree with you about how a lot of the workers are unstable! I would always wonder how some of them even got hired

I'm sorry to hear that. I was a little generous in my explanation of them even in this video, my experience wasn't too positive either :( but i do know some people who absolutely love the environment so just must not be a place were fit for!

This video just fit me at this time because I'm working at Starbucks since two months ago and I loved it. A lot of thigns you said are the things that I think. I hope not to quick soon because of the experience, but I really think so much as you do. Great video!

aww this is a really good video.. i actually manage a store, and I really liked this review. Baristas honestly don't make enough money, neither do the supervisors for that matter, it truly is a high stress job. The big picture is really nice (health benefits, stock, SPOTIFY! haha), but yeah that daily grind can be a tough one no doubt. I know at the store I was at when they changed dress code policies, like half the staff dyed their hair pink, haha... only thing I can't do now is get that sweet face tattoo i've always wanted ;). Anyways, I'm so glad you were able to take away what you wanted from the company in the end and leave the rest behind... I don't know, even as an sm for sbux, I think this is a really awesome story.

Girl i totally understand. I love and hate my Starbucks honestly it’s such a mess sometimes and it gets so stressful but oh well work is work

I totally get that Starbucks is super busy. It gets more busy if the store you’re working has a drive thru or located in a mall. Drive thru sucks.

I’ve been working at Starbucks for a year now and I absolutely love it. I think it honestly just depends on the people who work at your location because I love all the people who I work with. They are all so supportive and will step in to help if you need it. If you get stressed just say so and they can swap out your position so you can do something slower. Yes, there are those grumpy customers that tell but in my experience there are more good people than bad. I enjoy and love my job, it’s just your own perspective and attitude I think

My experience was pretty similar. Once a few weeks into working I got scolded by a shift for being too slow on drive thru, which is crazy busy, never a break, car after car. I was still learning how to handle, answering the drive thru, handling money and handing out drinks. It was so stressful and she wasnt a nice person, and it showed in her demeanor to everyone who wasnt a customer. Once, the barista on front register kept not writing out cups when it was busy af and I had to ask customers what their drink was. It was embarrassing. Another time I was left to man drive, front and bar while the shift counted out pastries for the next day because we were short staffed. It was a nightmare! 😱 oh man I could go on and on with the stories.

I watched this job just before my interview as a Barista for Starbucks and went for it anyway. 3 months down I am a Shift Manager and I love my job - but I love the stress. I don't know why, in the U.K it's not as busy as the US but sometimes it can get super busy and I love those times, my shifts always go so quickly, I do agree a little with the staffing though. It is a stressful job and they don't seem to always hire the right people to handle it 😅

i work at a place similar to starbucks but its way smaller and the really nice thing is that all the stores are owned by people and they can basically do what they want with the shop as long as they follow certain roles and that makes working there super nice cuz it feels like you work at a independent shop but you still have the education and security that comes with a company

I am barista coffee bean & tea leaves in malaysia.. I have a dream to work in Starbucks however the payment quite lower compared to coffee bean...but i love both coffee bar

My team is awesomeness! So while i don't intend to be a barista forever and sometimes customers do suck, I am enjoying my time here. Overall its a happy place. Some partners come back to hang out with us on their off days.

I work at a Starbucks that’s in a store. There’s two people working it most of the day, but closing there’s only one person. Most of the time I find myself, a seventeen year old girl, frantically trying to do ten things at once when there’s a giant line and I’m the only one working. Only four people are fully trained Starbucks employees and it’s a nightmare

So, I just submitted an application (mostly bc I've always liked their drinks and loved watching them work. Also the pay is actually really good now) and even after watching this I still wanna try, though it is helping me prepare for what's gonna happen, thanks for explaining this!

Worked there for 6 years as a shift supervisor. I loved my regulars and my baristas. Then the bux started taking away things like the store community board and made all the stores more mainstreamed-which took away the charm of each individual store. Also I couldn’t stand repeatable routine. I was very fast at making drinks and totally was able to use both espresso machines at once. The pay ended up not being worth the stress but I will say this, they have amazing health insurance. The benefits are top notch at Starbucks. And I did love how clean all the stores were.

I recently got hired and was doing research on what I can expect and saw this video suggested many times but I was worried about watching it in case it freaked me out but I want to tell you I think you did a very good job of not being passive aggressive and saying everything you felt in an unbiased way :) Thanks for the info and I wish you luck on your dream of having a small coffee shop!!!

It looks like it truly depends on the area where you're working. I'm in middle Europe and the place where I'm working is wonderful. I couldn't have a proper trainer but every coworker was so welcoming from the very first day: they told me everything, I had to do everything I knew from the first moment I've learned it, so I got used to it very fast. Everyone is so kind! I'm also 16, so I'm new but I don't feel like I'm worth less so I'm satisfied already. I hope I won't regret saying these! ^^

I started a month ago and I’m about to quit. I have a chronic illness and this is indeed the worse job to have if you have a chronic illness. Not to mention I work with my sister (I can see why companies say they won’t let you work with siblings because they stress you out soooo much) panic attacks, headaches, my pain is so much worse. Starbucks can be great for some people. But it’s definitely not great for me. Don’t be afraid to put in your two weeks or quit if you’re job isn’t working out for you everyone. You come first.

I study for my job. I work at a specialty coffee shop. The whole reason i started working there was because I had so much curiosity about coffee and the owner liked my passion for it. And yeah, I find that it makes a more enjoyable experience for both the customer and myself if I knowledgeable about coffee.

I get $50 a week on average for tips. I don’t think that’s bad when most jobs don’t even have tips. I also feel like I can be myself and my store is super cool and no drama. Maybe I lucked out. (:

Haha I love working at Starbucks! It's crazy, but it's probably the best job I've ever had (or maybe that says something about my other jobs haha). I also thrive in fast-paced jobs, so my experience may just be different. I totally see how having creative freedom is so nice though. I'm also a small business owner, so I could see how being able to talk directly to management would be useful. Thanks for the insight! It's definitely not a job for everyone! :)

it is stressful i work at the 24 hour one in Houston been there for 3 years and things get crazy every year

I've noticed that its really hard to move up in Starbucks position wise, like for example once we become trainers (like me) we still only make minimum wage like all other baristas but we get an additional $75 per a trainee. That's like a 6 hour day here, which isn't much considering you train your barista for a week, full days doing so.

Love this! I work at starbucks alongside with my serving job and I find it to be more of a fun side job!

I worked for Starbucks for 3 1/2 years. Yes, very stressful, overwhelming, and there is lots to learn. The store that i worked at for 2-2 1/2 years it was one of the busiest stores in the district & region. The raises weren't great either, you could work your tail off and for what another .10 an hour. And they went from raises everything 6 months, to once a year. My last raise there for the year was .23. Part of the reason I quit was also because of the management at my store. I would help out at other stores and the management there was great, and very appreciative of the knowledge and help I bought to their store. I'd go back to my store and just feel unappreciated by the store management. Now the shift supervisor's I worked with were great! The store I worked at it was very hard to get promoted. I had fun while I worked there, it made me have a greater appreciation for coffee, & for those behind the counter. Starbucks and I have a love hate relationship lol.

When you said you would study the menu did they give you something to study ? Or how would you do that ? I plan on working at Starbucks but I know nothing about Starbucks drinks

Well I only studied the recipes once I already worked there, so I was able to catch on fast. I wouldn't bother studying anything unless you get the job. It is a lot to learn.

Oh sweet! Ok well just give yourself grace while learning everything. It's a lot to learn and its okay to take your time. I wrote all the recipes down and took them home to memorize them so i would catch on faster. Just be sure to ask a lot of questions to make sure you're doing things correctly, and always remain teachable! You'll be your managers favorite if you can take correction well and check in to see how you're doing and what you can improve! Also really try to get to know regulars, it makes the job so much more fun to build relationships with the customers you see everyday. Have fun with it! :)

I was hired in as a Shift 5 months ago and my mind is blown with the amount of anxiety involved.

I worked at Starbucks for four years while I was in high school and absolutely loved it ! I met so many friends, had tons of fun with the customers and ahhh I miss the free coffee !!

I’ve been working for a licensed store inside a Hilton for about 6 months and I absolutely love it. It’s a brand new store that all of my workers and myself opened back in September. We’ve lost a good chunk of workers since opening, but we all get along great. Other than the difference between the shifts that close and the shifts that open and work days. I feel like that’s a never ending battle anywhere though. I’m honestly glad we didn’t have to go through any crappy trainers and we all just got to start fresh, though

I am totally with you on this, Tay. No matter how much one might love one's job, sometimes there comes a time when it's just time to move on. Even Jesus said "Friend, go up higher" So, now is your time to go up higher. Congratulations and I hope it all works out! 👏👏👏

A lot of the points you're hitting are a lot of the main reasons why I left Starbucks. Especially the lack of promotion & the lack of maturity from some employees. My store was definitely chaotic. Miss it, but definitely was just too dramatic.

Starter working at Starbucks about a month ago. The first 2 weeks was hell! My barista trainer is rude and strict she actually made me cry! But then we sorted it out and we're good now! All you need is patience and be understanding to your partners 😄 Partner from the Philippines!

Tottally agree. I worked at Starbucks and the only issues I had was with my co-workers being terrible under pressure. I have social anxiety and it really helped with my confidence. I was glad I pulled through.

Working for Starbucks for 3 years, what I get out of it is that the management team can be insanely unproffessional. But that can just be my area though, even though I've been to 3 different stores

The fact the you can move up at Starbucks so easily is not necessaarily an indication that it's a great company. It may be just that people are quitting and leaving vacancies that you can fill once you've been there long enough to learn the business. I've heard a LOT about people quitting right and left so just take that into consideration.

OMG I just saw this, ive been working there for a year and customers are RUDE. Like if someone is making your drink , dont yell at them??? But, coworkers are totally weird, immature, and managers are mean too. It is stressful forsure, im only working there for the free schooling lol
