Why I left Pakistan as a doctor?
1500 doctors leave Pakistan every year because of poor working conditions, low salary and insecurity at work. However I would like to also discuss in a balance of ..How many doctors here in the west eventually leave medicine in due to stress burn out and lack of motivation and is the migration justifiable in a bigger context

Hi Dr Rizwan.Hope you are doing fine.Your video is open story for majority of doctors across the world.Happy to see such an open content creation.
very insightful. I am at a consultant level and I could relate to every bit of the things you mentioned here. Currently in the process of moving to UK though finding a position seems an arduous job in itself. keep up the good job
This nice reflection on the past, supported by real facts, serves as great motivation for young doctors to consider international opportunities. Thank you. You are an inspiration.
Very insightful..I'm at a consultant level and I can relate to everything u described in this post .. Seriously whoever get a chance to move for good, must avail it without any second thought
This is so so true sir. Each and every word you say is true.
I had an interesting misconception that situation was a bit better 20 years ago but listening to you my doubts are clear now. i believe if system didnt improve in 20 years then it is not going to get better in next 100 years. God bless you Dr. Rizwan
Omg just found the wonderful mentor on youtube 😍… Keep up the good work 😊

Really appreciate for such an honest and thoughtful video. Can you please let me know what’s the scope of radiation oncology over there? Is it competitive too and difficult to get into?

When I first saw your videos I thought you would be indian such a great quality content was not expecting from a Pakistani ❤
as a graduate in 2021 and now in that post honeymoon period you hit every single note perfectly and its depressing that it stands true i would if given financial incentive and a better healthcare setup would never leave Pakistan for any foreign country; there's no recognition of non training jobs in Pakistan, there's no concept of board approved vs board certified for those unable to pass fcps there's hardly any robust primary healthcare set up and family medicine set up which puts tremendous load on the tertiary care set ups, there no concept of out of social hour pay or even locums. the work hours in surgical specialties are inhumane( 1 in 3 call with post call duties) and the compensation is around 121k per month with an inflation rate of 41pc. adjusted for depreciation that's 300 USD and decreasing whenever it seems like we have hit rock bottom we sink further into madness and the lets not forget the added stress from the media that is hell bent on making doctors out to be heartless pyschopaths

I totally agree...Pakistan is perhaps one of the few condition have significantly gone downhill in the last 10 years...hence I believe the best way to salvage the situation is to salvage yourself first by going abroad
Great
sir is there any way to connect personally with you?
AOA I'm currently doing post Graduation in pediatrics medicine in a well renowned hospital but due to same 10 reasons, i don't want to continue further and thinking of leaving pakistan. Can you make a video where we can move easily? JazakAllah.
A very detailed discussion, however what do you suggest for those in their mid career, should they also move abroad as GPs or better stay home

Very well described. All these factors are relevant on individual basis. But looking at the flip side of the coin, a lot of doctors do go back to their native countries after finishing training + getting passports. They would have another set of factors or reasons for going back. There is always this feeling of “lost from the roots” among these groups.

Hello doctor! I did my medical degree from China and completed one year housejob in Pakistan but I don’t have license to practice as a junior doctor in Pakistan…Can I apply for AMC part-1 or first I should have license from Pakistan….
I did my internship (housejob) in benazir bhutto hospital, rwp, one of the bigger hospitals of Punjab, and the conditions have not changed much from 20 years back, asidefrom maybe the provision of Electricity and other necessities, which are better now. Still a lack of professionalism, supervised and well guided training, extremely draining work hours and a pay that leaves much to be desired, and top it all off with the fact that even to get a training of this calibre, you'd still not only need to waste1-3 years (IF you get very very lucky enough to get the said job) in a periphery job doing GPship, and have strong contacts. Much better to move abroad if you have the resources for it.
If Iam pharmacist here in australia and want to study medicine as PR holder do you recommend this step FYI Iam 34 years old but i love medical field and i think i have alot to give
Yes i also thought ur indian but felt happy to find Pakistani doing excellent job.Best wishes
Hellow I am a fresh mbbs graduate in pakistan....now after that...can i do 12 medical internship in Australia and if yes.... Do they pay to the foreign graduate during internship
Sir,which country is best for surgery residency
What's the process for fresh graduates for applying in Australia in emergency medicine? Are researches necessary? Can we do specialized degrees without giving amc.

@@EmergencyFocus yes exactly. Only nepotism is prominent here. Merit has no value or respect . My senior is an HO (I'm a final year sudent), he got punched 3 days ago. Our consultant and SHOs told him "be a man" and ordered him to come to regular duty ,when he requested a day off. While sons and daughters of faculty members don't even come to housejob and still get the certification (they only come for calls). I would honestly say it might have become even worse now as compared to the past. I used to love Pakistan and was so proud, my eyes have opened up during my clerkships ...... We don't have doctors here , we have dictators ...

I wanted to stay and work in Pakistan to improve the system. Firstly, your struggle starts from the house, no electricity, water, security. Secondly, When you make it to the hospital, the filth, rudeness and lack of professionalism, no sense of punctuality and above all the resistance to resolve even the smallest of issues is an absolute drain on energy. I struggled hard leaving my loved ones but to me the only way to look after my parents financially whilst developing myself professionally was obviously moving abroad. Again a huge compromise at a personal level. Even going back to Pakistan, I get a reality check at the airport, traffic, society seeing all the mismanagement etc..making it obvious the move is the way forward There are people in Government whose job is to ensure well paid opportunities and jobs for professionals. Reality is for a middle income people, we neither have power or money to sustain the un necessary hardship in Pakistan and easier option is to move where we can help Pakistan from being overseas
