Why I Have To Move - Living Alone at 68

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Why I have to move. I Decorate with thrift store items that look so expensive and beautiful. Know what to look for! I went to 3 thrift stores looking for things to illustrate what I look for when it comes to making my place a home I can feel relaxed in! Orange is the most healing color and I have tried to bring that color into my rooms through pillows, art and paint.
Wall pocket - china and art...it was an amazing week of finds...and I knew the items were so special! I talk a bit about miss Cheri Blum and how I stopped collecting her art...but then, I found 2 new pieces and I knew they were rare and special..and perhaps a real sign for my life and maybe yours.....
Oh that Gangsta Desi is so handsome this week with his Valentine's dog treats!
I saw the movie The Fablemans, which profoundly impacted me. It's about how one person can inspire you to go after what your heart needs to survive. I use 2 quotes from the movie and share with you my life. " You don't owe anybody your life" " It's not enough just to love something...you have to take care of it"
It's a wonderfully magical movie and I recommend it.
See you all next week!
Love to you and yours always!
Susan & Desi
I just don't say I love you....I truly do...

Thank you for this video. It helped me IMMENSELY with my dilemma of whether I should move or not.. to be closer to my only surviving son (lost my youngest son 13 years ago). I lost my husband a little over a year ago, and "they" (who are "they" anyway?) say don't make any rash decisions the first year after the death of a loved one. I've respected that.. and now it has been a year and 4 months, and I so want to move closer to my son who now lives 5 yours away from me. I know that doesn't seem far, but it IS far when I can't be there to be a part of his life, his everyday activites, holidays, celebrations, etc. I so miss that and need that.. and at an older age (75) feel I don't have many years left to experience his life. How can I NOT move??? Seeing your video really cinched it for me.

I am 65 & disabled, my grandmother taught me to knit & crochet by age 8 & passed away when I was 9. She was a former English teacher who took up shopkeeping after being widowed with. 4 small boys. The things my grandma taught me to value a good education and to be a working mother ,enabled me to have a fantastic life. Now I am long retired yet still able to knit, crochet and do art work which I never would have attempted with out having learned these skills at a young age from the most important educator in my life. I have stayed close to my grandchildren since birth, it is the most important thing in my life after raising my children is being in the babies lives .

I agree! I gave up a well-paying job seven years ago to help care for my youngest grand daughter and these have been the very BEST 7 years of my life! She and her big sister are the JOY of my life! Every moment of every day I get to spend with them is special and wondrous! I am so blessed to live close to them and my other two sons. The older I get the more precious family is to me. Jobs, things in general, all take a backseat to time spent with my family enjoying special moments. You are a wise and beautiful woman, Susan, and your love and time invested in Wyatt will be his guiding light!❤

I am 57, divorced with no children. I’ve struggled with the idea of moving to be closer to my mother( who is very independent and healthy).. the quote you stated really hit home. I am finally happy with a great support system.. if I moved, I would loose myself and be absolutely no good to anyone. My life belongs to no one. I’m finally happy with my life.. FINALLY and I need to let go of the guilt. My mom refuses to move here( I am only a hour and a half away from her).. and, one day she may have to be close to me but I need to be happy. I need to realize I would be no good back home. I was miserable there and had a horrible divorce and marriage. I walked away after 55 years in the same area. It was time to start over and I did all by myself. And I’m so happy here. Thank you for the lovely video.

This is such an excellent video. Thank You! I'm a 62-year-old grandma. My grandson was inspired by my career as a photographer. I started giving him cameras when he became a teenager. He's a junior at the University of Kentucky and has been studying photography on campus. He started his own photography business in 2020. I had no idea that I'd inspired him. It brought me to tears to know that my grandson saw me in a light I didn't even see myself in. I thought that I was just an photographer. I was wrong. I'm so happy that you are moving close to the grandkids. I can't wait to see your new journey. Blessings.

Most of all, your thoughts and words are so energizing. I love how you see the potential in living life to its fullest at this stage of the game, when people are often winding down instead of winding up. You are still winding up, still glamourous and alive and that is wonderful and encouraging. Moving closer to your family will enable you and them to continue growing as a family unit- to be there for one another. I sold a big beautiful home to live in a little apartment on their property, I am not sorry. YES your best videos are ahead of you with Wyatt, you need to start packing tonight! You have a wonderful life of family ahead. Being with my grandchildren is the best life and I would not trade it for anything or anybody! My husband and I are 70, we want to spend the rest of our lives near our family. It’s very emotional leaving what we’ve known and leaving our siblings, nieces and nephews. I am leaving my best friend (my 80 yr old sister). I feel like this is the right thing for us and I believe it’s the right thing for you. You are delightful and will bring your bright light with you where ever you go. 😘

I wish I lived near the thrift shops you visit. You made some really nice purchases and the pricing is unbelievably good!! I'm so glad you feel comfortable telling your audience all about your feelings. A lot of us are probably going through similar phases. Never second guess what your heart and gut are telling you. Change always takes time for adjustment. I feel anxious for you, but I'm a ball of anxiety most days. My mom, who recently passed, talked so much about her grandfather and grandmother. They raised her as she had a mom who wasn't capable. Sadly they both passed when she was 10 and she went into a foster home before being adopted by the grinch and wicked witch of the East. Don't let your little grandson miss out on all the stories and memories he will share about his grandmother! I wish you were moving south. You and I like a lot of the same things it seems. I will continue to enjoy your weekly gathering on KZread , with Desi. Know you are doing what's right for you and forge ahead!!!

Even though we are not the ones moving, the pure joy of being around my grandchildren and watching and learning from them, is priceless. Yes, we do learn from both the very young and old. I’ve learned how to appreciate every milestone I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing, to love and respect each child for themself, and make memories that perhaps only they will remember bits and pieces of, but collectively, they may reminisce among themselves. That’s love at the very root of life.

Over the last 5yrs I have nurtured a relationship with this precious little one and I can not tell you how grateful I will always be for this connection and experience. Your heart is FOR them, and that will translate in everything you do and say when you are with them. God be with you and Desi, and YES, to giving Desi more air time! Ha! I have never felt this way about an animal online before, but he has stolen my heart. Those eyes, the way they move when you are talking, like he knows he is loving you well by supporting you , even though he might rather be lounging on your ottoman or tossing one of his stuffies in the air instead of sitting still for the camera! Her mom says it’s her favorite day of the week! My other two grandchildren currently live 12 hours away and they are jealous of the time I get to spend with my little Leona. Me too they are my world and my life and I love them so much. i have so much inside of me that I want to pour in them in a natural way of living way not traditional I want to be like the Jesus they hear about the one who will never leave them and always love them and guide them. Jesus loves the little children so much.

Susan, I'm 63 and my brother is 56 and we still talk about how wonderful our grandparents were. They brought so much to our lives. Ernest and Helen, Tom and Inez They will never be forgotten! You're a very lucky lady to be a grandparent 💃💞

This was the first video of yours that I have watched. I support you 100% moving to be near your grandson. Those precious memories you will be making will fill your heart and soul with happiness!
