I was pretty messed up, taking drugs, getting drunk, self harming myself, bitter to those who did harm to me, held on to much of the past and not letting go until one day I picked the bible up and started reading it. I found that everything you read in the bible it shows you how to live a better and happier life. It did wonders to me. Our Jesus Christ is the way and is the light. And I really agree what you say about your not religious instead it's a relationship between you and christ. That's all he wants from Us is to love him and except him by faith. God bless you 🙌🙏➕

Joy Dorsett we don’t need to gather in a four walled church. The people of God ARE the church. Unfortunately there are millions of lukewarm Christians who Jesus says He will spit from His mouth (in Revelation)... we should gather with saints from time to time but all we need is to have a close intimate relationship with Jesus through prayer and studying His word. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, let’s make sure we are born again that we may inherit the Kingdom of Heaven 🙏🏽

+KillJoy You can worship someone and not have a relationship with them. Jesus wants the relationship more then worship, because when you have a relationship with him, you want to worship him. It's not just something you HAVE to do like religion would say like, "oh you have to do this to be saved"

In the book jeff wrote as an extension of this poem he does talk about religion in regards the Christianity being a religion but how its ore than that, it is a relationship. religion is real, its just not the point. and Christianity has religious aspects but there is weightier parts of it. read the book:) it is so good and not a very long read either!

Growing up my family attended the Catholic Church and when as I grew I began to question God. In high school I found this video and I loved it, but it didn’t resonate with me. I became an adult and fell into a deep darkness and the night I wanted to end my life, God came down to me. It felt like He took all the bricks that were placed on my chest and in a few minutes of silence I heard Him speak to me. I laid there for what seemed like hours. I now know why I loved this video. I’m so happy and grateful that God gave me enough life to get to know Him on a much deeper level. Religion doesn’t resonate with me, but Jesus does. ❤️

saw this back in 2013 and at 18 when i decided to leave the jehovahs witness religion i grew up in. Here i am 10 years later watching again. This video truly changed my life.

To be fair religion has never really been pushed upon me, my dad is pagan and my mom is an atheist. Yet I still grew up in terrible conditions where I was abused mentally, emotionally, and physically. Maybe before you make some sort of judgement call on my character, you should check your own house for leaks. I chose god because the world I lived in would be a nightmare if I did anything else. He was more than a good man, he was the son of God. And it isn’t even about spirituality- it is about the heart turning to God and being reborn. It is not the same afterwards. Though we struggle, he changed us once and changes little by little with the rest. And he helped people to see God in him. That was his mission. That everyone comes to him to be saved and then follow him forever as his own child that he bought from slavery on the cross. All to glorify God. Amen, in Jesus Name. ❤️

It’s amazing how God can change somebody. Years and years ago I watched this and was offended, it didn’t make sense. 5 years later I’ve lived it and am born again. I changed my dislike into a like.

I watched this video on Day 1. 12 years later, this video is still pinned to the top of my heart. Religion was used to slave the minds and hearts of people. I freed myself of Religion 12 years ago and opened my heart, my mind, and my life to GOD.

this is great stuff. The funny thing is that all of the people who have gotten all upset about this in the past b/c it says it hates religion pretty much PROVE the problem.... If you claim to follow Christ, then you should not be in "religion," with Christianity, but in RELATIONSHIP with the Christ.

I’m not religious, I’m saved.

I have been struggling recently with my relationship with Christ and fell into new age practices. I struggled trying to be fulfilled on the inside and I realized that nothing else in this world can fulfill me like Christ. That’s it, Jesus has led us to Love, the eliminator of sin without even focussing on sin and being bound by it condemning ourselves for every mistake. Now our measure of who we are is by the grace of Jesus. No more sin focussing for me because learning to love has made me such a better individual. It saved my marriage and many broken relationships, which legalism destroyed. Amen 🙏

I say this so often and it’s really that simple. Jesus is love. If you look at everything you’ve been taught and change it. Instead looking at it through the eyes of love, everything changes. It’s hard for people to take the religion that has been drilled in their head for their lifetime and simplify it to just love. But it’s not JUST love. It’s huge. Profound. Endless. Love. Love encompasses All!

Close personal relationship as in what? My father and I have a close personal relationship, is Jesus going to be like my father and come over sit on my couch and watch the science channel and play a few video games with me? Or is it like a personal relationship like what I have with my girlfriend? Cause I'm not interested in going that far. No matter what way you look at it, saying you have a personal relationship with Jesus is silly. If you had a personal relationship it indicates he lives in the physical universe (meaning he is testable by science.) If he does not live in the physical universe then he has no impact on the physical universe (meaning praying would never work, and miracles would be impossible). I never felt welcomed in organized religion. Always criticized and judged. Jesus showed me that I am loved unconditionally. There’s no way I’ll deny & lose my connection with Jesus; I mean, you can avoid the truth but you can’t run from it. The truth shall set you free…Jesus will set you free. As a Buddhist, I don't believe in God or Jesus. But I respect people that do. People like me have no right to say Christian people are very judgy, because that is a harsh judgement in and of itself. I respect that people have different belief systems, I may not personally believe these things but that has never stopped me from loving someone who does. Everyone should respect that everyone has a right to believe what they want, it's when we start forcing our thoughts on to someone else, that we have an issue.

I was around 40 yrs old when I realized Religion is the Division of the Faith. Religion makes you dependent on a Minister & HIS Words. Jesus set us free. Remove the Minister & we communicate with the Lord without the Middleman. I know some people who are convinced they can SIN all week long & Absolve them every Sunday!! The Lord knows our hearts. Jethro Tull put this subject into perspective in the late sixties with one, verse in one song. "I'm not the kind you have to wind up on Sunday". The Song was either "Wind Up" or "My god"!! The Album was titled "Aqualung" & is a MASTERPIECE!! The Byrds gave us "Turn Turn Turn", from Ecclesiastes.

People are ripping on this guy's poem saying it doesn't have enough "taste" or isn't poetic enough. You guys do realize it's so much more than a poem. It's a message, it's something that is way bigger than you can imagine. What he said in 4 minutes was something that looked like something small and stupid to someone with a closed mind. but to a hopeless person this is something huge on their perspective of God and could possibly bring them to a new and loving life.

The truth is, you have to love the church. In Revelation 22 it talks about Christ returning for His bride. His bride being the church full of all believers. Christ died for his bride and will return for it. Yes I will admit that most accusations against the church are fair and sometimes we deserve them but the church is Jesus' bride. One person can help change that. I can guarantee you that if you were to talk bad against your friends wife you wouldn't be very good friends.

Still gives me chills. I love the honesty in this. I do believe in God and such, but religion is a joke.

Many are called but few are chosen. The truth is a narrow path and there are few that find it. When someone asked Jesus what religion he should be, Jesus simply said, take care of the widows and the orphans. He called us to Love. It was the religious leaders who arrested and murdered Jesus. If you judge single Mothers in a crisis pregnancy, you judge Mary who was pregnant out of wedlock. Having Jesus was a CRIME in her culture. If you judge poverty and homelessness, you judge Jesus. He was a homeless wanderer who never owned anything but a cross and even that was for us! If you say you stand for life but cave in to the pro choice argument. He wants you to know He entered the world as the least of us (which is a preborn baby scheduled for abortion) His purpose in life was to be murdered for our sin, just like they are! He also left the world like they do...innocent yet brutally tortured. Don't let occultic religion sugar coat His story. He was a man of many sorrows and chose to suffer with us

Martin Kraina He didn’t come to establish the church, he came to save it, which He did: “it is finished.” He didn’t come to lay down laws or set traditions, he fulfilled “the law and the prophets.” His mission was to be the Savior, and He is. Those who believe He came to help us do works are sorely mistaken, for we are totally depraved and incapable of any good without Him. It is ONLY though Jesus Christ, we can receive redemption. “No man comes to the father except through me.” No ifs, ands, or buts, pure and simple.

Judge Dredd You are wrong. Jesus said “On this rock i will build my church” . Who creates the church of Jesus Christ? Everyone who believes truly in Jesus Christ and what he has done for us. So after his death and resurrection everyone who believed in the gospel was part of this church. Also, faith without works is a dead faith. It requires works, the requires works of your faith. When you are tested thats when the works comes by trusting in God. And also when you fail God, when you sin, it requires works of repentance.

Saw this video within days of it being released on my iPod touch. How time flies. I find myself thinking about this video consistently throughout my life. Thank you truly for this upload. I feel it planted a much needed seed in my younger unguided self.

I watched this video 5 years ago after clicking on it in somebody’s Instagram bio. I didn’t know Jesus and did not have any Christians in my life, but after watching this I watched another video of Jefferson sharing the gospel at a youth conference and I accepted Jesus right there in my bedroom that night and then started following Jesus with my whole life! And I have been for almost 5 years now! God can work through amazing ways. Thank you Jefferson for sharing the gospel with me and changing my life!!!!!!!

Said I not unto thee that if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? And now, why dost thou tarry? Pack up thy things and come with Me to a land which I shall show thee, which thou knewest no heretofore. Dost thou ask about thy instructions? Even this: Be ready to leave! For in a moment I call thee unto Myself, and will gather you into My Arms. Be not slack among them that sleep, but go and say to him that readeth, ‘Shalom be unto you.
