Why I Don't Teach Cry It Out

What is CIO? If you've been a parent for even just a week you've likely heard people say "just cry it out" right? It's no secret that the Cry It Out (CIO) Method is an extremely polarizing topic. Here at Little Z's I have always been known for my straightforward, "no fluff" content and that is something I developed after being a third and a fifth grade teacher. You will never find me telling parents to "just CIO" because....it's not a plan. In this video I explain my stance on the CIO/Extinction Method and why I do not teach this concept inside my sleep training courses.

I recommend your sleep training programs to every mom I can. We did it as soon as my daughter turned 4 months old because the "no-cry" sleep method was absolutely not working for us. We were at the point where we were ready to start CIO, and I thank God I found your program first because it worked like a miracle for us, with almost no crying! We were absolutely shocked and almost crying with glee ourselves when she slept 12 hours straight through the night ON THE FIRST NIGHT! I know many families won't have this kind of instant success but even if it takes a couple of days or a couple of weeks, the effort would be well worth it. Even now as a toddler, the nap and bedtime routines you taught us are still working like a dream. Thank you Becca for saving our family from our sleep deprived desperation! Lots of love ❤

Oh my goodness I am SO grateful to hear your story!!!! 🥰🥰 I am thankful that you found me and also entrusted me with your family’s sleep!! Even more so that you’re spreading the news. I know as a parent it can seem like there are so many options and judgements will come based off what we choose or don’t, but this is a no judgement zone and I am so glad LZS families knows this! I have one question!! Would you mind copy and pasting this as a Google review?! Your story is just so good Id love for others to see. Leave it here: g.page/littlezsleep

I love that you are to the point. Taking Cara Babies advertises 10+ hours of video content. But I'm like, who has 10 hours?? When I started your program, I listened to the video and started that night!

I’m doing your newborn course, and I honestly had no expectations. I mean a newborn does what they want. He puts himself to sleep! I never have to PUPD at night, and during naps it takes once or twice. It’s very cool! I can’t wait for the next program, because I feel like I’ve set him up for success. Also thank you for not talking down on the CIO method. I did that for both my older kids and it was easy and worked like a charm.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Miriam! We are thrilled to hear our newborn course has been helpful to you. Each sleep training method works differently for every family (and child!) and we are so glad to hear our course and strategies have worked for your littlest one!
