Why I Don't Recommend Dental Bridges

Traditional dental bridges are harmful, according to Dr. Runion. He uses a real-life example of a patient who received a dental bridge. He explains how this dental bridge exposed the area, causing it to break down. As a result, dental bridges are not an ideal solution for a missing tooth. The dental implant is the best long-term solution.
At Runion Dental Group in Gahanna, OH, each of our doctors, Dr. Jon Runion and Dr. JD Hill, bring a unique skill set and passion for dentistry to deliver lifelong solutions for you or your family. This multi-disciplinary approach to care ensures you get the right type of treatment for your smile, without having to travel from office to office.
With individual specializations in general dentistry, dental implants, sedation dentistry, orthodontics, and periodontal treatment we are able to treat even the most complex cases.
We invest in the best technology and most advanced training so we can provide our patients with the opportunity to receive the highest level of dental care. We value our patients' time and want our patients to value their oral health and allow us to help them achieve the smile of their dreams.

I wish businesses would promote quality over quantity. You’ll have customers forever going that route. Dental implants can fail as well too just the same as bridges. It’s not about the material it’s about the person. If you’re a person that don’t take care of your teeth both will cause you issues.

I’m in the process of a dental bridge because I was not a good candidate for implants on my upper teeth. From the decay my sinuses are too low and I would need a sinus lift due to shrinking jaw bone then MAYBE I would have been able to get implants. I still was not a good candidate for that surgery due to numerous chronic illnesses so my dentist recommended the bridge for upper and I’m still doing implants on lower molars. It was the best choice for my case. The bridge will just need to be very well taken care of once in place (I have the temporary on currently)

I'm thinking about getting a bridge. At first I was gonna do the implant but I don't like being put to sleep for cosmetic issues anymore. I've had a bad experience with anesthesia during an outpatient visit. I remember my heart rate increasing rapidly and I was blacking out while at home about an hour after my visit. I eventually fell asleep against my will in a recliner until the effects fully wore off. There were other times I've been put to sleep where I didn't have any issues with anesthesia whatsoever so I think it was an isolated event by a certain provider. I have the money for the implant but id rather do the least invasive procedure now.

Tooth supported bridges require your natural teeth to be prepared by removing important tooth structure from the connector teeth. This preparation is permanent and sometimes has severe consequences on the health and longevity of the natural teeth. Each patient has a unique clinical situation and we believe that the most important aspect of dental care is education to create understanding of the positives and negatives of each clinical treatment option. We provide a thorough consultation process to fully diagnose the problems, understand the goals of the patient and formulate multiple treatment options to reach those goals. We are committed to this process and ensuring that each patient fully understands all aspects of their treatment options.

@@Haiti1975Dude he's trying to tell you in a roundabout way to quit while you're (well - not ahead) but before you make it worse. You are like a self fulfilling prophecy. You saving up for implants bcz your getting your teeth (4 - 6 so far) ground down and ruined so they will eventually need to be EXTRACTED. This will leave holes in your head 🗣️ so you're gonna need implants to fill them or upper dentures if you keep going. If you still have your wisdom teeth - I suggest (as a former dental assistant) that you keep them. Go see an orthodontist and see if he can move your teeth to close the 2 missing teeth and crown the others u ground down, after you remove the bridge For legal reasons until or unless Runyun Dentist examines you he's not going to answer your personal question ⁉️ on here Best wishes😊

Afterwards they came back with a new mold of the single missing tooth and shoved it into the open wound were my old tooth was. Finishing it all off putting this glue stuff on the two other teeth next to the replacement, connecting all three teeth together. The last tooth he did he took the wrong freaking tooth out! and I had to go back within that same hour get poked again with needles and have the correct tooth take it out and he tried to charge me for it! I am absolutely terrified to go back I have not gone back and now I have huge gaps in my mouth, grateful they were all molars, so I have a rough time eating and speaking sometimes I'll even choke on my own saliva or food 😢I am too scared to even look for anyone to do anything because I'm afraid that they all talk to each other I'm blacklisted or something... so I was looking at videos on bridges the good and the bad I'm glad I saw your comment! On top of THAT...the endodontist...was just coming back to work...part-time....after a nervous condition....which he relayed to me.... I felt so uncomfortable with ALL of it...told the dental/'owner...just that...paid my tab in full...and scooted out of there.
