Usually since a battle with Firestar and Tigerstar is pretty much expected and probably pretty boring since we were all expecting it. Having a new cat that is actually seen as a bigger threat to the clans. Especially since he took all of TigerStar's lives in one go, is definitely surprising. We did get that Firestar and Tigerstar fight anyway in The Last Hope as a final confrontation so it was good overall.

The problem with a Fire/Tiger fight in The Darkest Hour is that it is almost impossible to flow well. Both cats have all nine lives, and when they lose a life it takes a few minutes for them to come back, meaning that either: they trade lives, sitting back for minutes at a time waiting for the other to get back up, or the first cat to die just gets brutalized while defenseless. In retrospect, introducing a new villain capable of ending a leader in one move is probably the only way to make the fight palatable.

There's also the fact that Tigerstar's death is ironic, in the sense that he's been causing trouble for the clans for the longest and ends up being undone by his plans. Essentially, Tigerstar becomes so ambitious that it backfires on him, and his overconfidence leads him to misunderestimate the loyalty and ferocity of his own lackey (especially since Scourge himself had wanted revenge on him). Tigerstar becomes his own undoing. It's also fitting that Firestar confronts Scourge because it's the former's faith in Starclan that allows him to defeat the faithless, self-confident Scourge and Bloodclan. It proves that Starclan can and will set things straight for the clans by ridding them of evil and lawlessness, and are using their chosen one, Firestar, to accomplish this. That's why I appreciate the fact that after Firestar comes back to life and Scourge states that he killed him, Firestar doesn't deny it. He wants Scourge to know that Starclan can bring him back to life. Sorry for rambling, but I really liked that moment.

Tbh, I think a lot of villains are really overrated. They are all awesome- but overrated.

scourge Is quite interesting, he got his Revenge of tigerclaw hurting him when he got into the forest even if i wanted to firestar and tigerstar to Battle

I swear, scourge was around for like 100 pages and then died! And they only made a book about him BC OF THE FANS. And its not only dumb, BUT IT PUSHES OF TIGERSTAR. They build up a character *And knock it down* to make space for the "Newer character thats so much better". I would rather BloodClan and Scourge come out during Firestars super Edition, or TNP.

It was WAY less than 100 pages in the main series, i counted once and it was less than 50. I think around 37 or something- ya, like no book time, A STICK got more page time then him for crying outloud

I do agree he's overrated, but it's for a good reason -how unexpected and brutal his appearance was. Even if I may not agree with your other points, it's still a great video ❤ and it's refreshing to hear unpopular opinions, especially when they're so well put and confronting instead of insulting or trying to be right no matter what

I definitely recommend it. Most people say the 1st arc is the best, so maybe you would enjoy that. Just my opinion though

He is so overrated, I get the sympathy, but I mean honestly. I agree I like his backstory and stuff :3 (Pin if you want because idk)

Everyone has there own oppinion i get it but most evil characters are power hungry but scourge yes he wants power but his background made him like this but honestly hes a great character.

I think he is also overrated. And is it just me, or he got introduced pretty badly, and died badly. He barely had an actual personality during those few times, and just seemed like a scary oh no villain type of character, but no personality beyond that. I don’t hate him, but I don’t like him.

i agree with the points you made in the video, but i raise you another idea: what would've interested me more, personally, for scourge as a villain, would be for he and bloodclan to persist as antagonists into the 2nd arc. What could have happened would be for bloodclan taking over to be the reason the clans had to seek out new territory, rather than the forest being destroyed.

Honestly, I have the same opinions on Scourge as I do for his half-brother. Sure, they're alright, but not really my favorite and kind of overrated. I did enjoy the twist with Scourge killing Tigerstar instead of Firestar. Firestar was expected but it was shocking and very entertaining when he was killed by a small cat from unknown origins. I would have loved to see Fireheart staying in Bloodclan for a night while searching for Cloudpaw. He'd probably be horrified by their bloodlust (get it? *Blood* lust, for the cats of *blood* clan? Forget it.) yet curious with how Scourge runs things, possibly making him reconsider his role as deputy.

Ahhhh I died from the way you pronounced his name- Haha I agree that he could’ve been better, but I still really enjoyed his manga.

This is why i feel that The Darkest Hour Is a book thats kinda pointless- It couldve been wrapped up in The Dangerous Path by Bluestar viscously dragging down the cat that was at fault for her paranoia, thinking starclan left her, and abandoning her clan. It wouldve been so much cooler if she dragged him down with his dogs visously and left him unable to escape after a final battle, Additionally to what you said, after KILLING tigerstar and ridding him of all his lives- he couldnt do the blow he knew would finish off firestar for him as well? AND not to mention that Firestar somehow killed him.

I have never read warriors-and dont know any characters.BUT I know scourge-and his story! Lol

I mostly only know him from and liked the graphic novel story that he was in. I do like him as a character and as a villain but honestly I like plenty of the other charters more. Like Ravenpaw and Graystripe are a couple of my favs. Wish there was a littel more going for him to me. I other then his origin story, I jut like the idea of how menacing his adn his tooth callor.

Plus, then you get crack ships like ScourgeXAshfur because of how emo they both are. But Scourge is more 'early 2000s punk rock' emo and Ashfur is 'nice guys always finish last' emo.
