Why I Choose to Live a Simple "BORING" Life Over Hustle Culture
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I choose to live a boring life because "I am enough" just as I am. The hustle culture makes me as if I need things outside of myself to find happiness. By living a simple life, I realize that I am enough. Living a minimalist lifestyle has helped me see that living simply & minimally brings contentment. I saw there were better ideas, and I changed my life by accepting myself. I left the rat race when I realized I am doing enough and embraced slow living. I improved my life by avoiding hustle culture and embracing a simple lifestyle. Why I live simply? So I can live a good life.
boring life, how I live, change my life, simple life, minimalist, minimalism, simple living, live minimally, I am enough, better life

I have a little deaf papillon dog that I bought to be sure he would have a good life. I just love this dog as he is very sweet nature and playful. My husband and I walk him and enjoy just being together with our cute little dog. My little dog also plays with our cats and we just enjoy all the playful antics of cats and a dog playing together. Most people I know think that we are boring and should be traveling since we are retired. I just let it go in one ear and out the other because everyday my husband and I are connected playing and enjoying our little sweet companion.

Aloha! I think you're doing the right thing for sure. Society today is getting sicker and sicker as far as I'm concerned and I'm going to leave it soon. After my best friend (doggie) was killed by an inattentive driver, I started rethinking everything. I'm a quite successful software engineer and could still make a significant amount of money, but would I really live? I don't think so; not as much as you. I'm already out of social media for a long time and now I'm getting rid of all my "stuff" and have recently put my condo up for sale. I bought a small sailboat in Guatemala and I'm planning to spend the rest of my life "living" with focus on helping nature and others. I'm going to read, listen, and dream away between visiting islands and teaching when I feel like it. Most of my friends think I've gone crazy, while I already feel more balanced and happy; enjoying the smaller things in life. Anyway, thanks for making this video; I envy you :)

The structure of society has us programmed to chase nonessential things while wasting away our prime years. The time to live is now🙌
I wish everyone has the courage to think like this. We all are doomed to chase societal praise and fame and recognition while losing the person we are actually. My simple advice from a 55 Yr old who had a big job , salary etc , who quit and has spent the last 15 years travelling and living a simple life with what I can carry.... Just, simply do what ever makes you happy, in every aspect of your life , without harming or hurting anyone else. ✌️❤️
I love this, thank you for sharing. I've not met many others like me so this was a pleasant surprise! My family knows I LOVE "boring" and am so happy when I don't have anything to do or anywhere to go and can just enjoy a relaxing day at home or outdoors. When I used to work in an office, I hated that pressure question on Fridays, "What are you doing this weekend?" Or on Mondays, "What did you do this weekend?" as it never felt like "nothing" was an adequate answer but it was exactly what I wanted to be doing and what made me happy. I also feel like traveling is overrated and stressful, I much prefer to stay at home and enjoy some low key moments of reading, baking, watching a show or just the not having pressure to go do something else. Keep enjoying your slow paced life, it's a lovely journey! Sending peace and gratitude from Okinawa . 🙏🏼🌺

But I can't get any help, so I have to work in this corporate world and I'm thinking it's really going to kill me. I have panic attacks more than once a week, and I am constantly reminded by my managers that I am "less than" because when I put in 150% of myself into work, because of my illnesses, it's still not enough and this constant negative thinking from managers and even society in general is so damaging both mentally and physically. I am currently looking to come up with some alternative method of supporting myself because having a corporate job in this society for someone like me is literally going to kill me. :(

It is not in every company the same, give you a chance and find a new company, I sure it just can get better than worse. Because in such a negative environment it is just no wonder you are doing bad even a healthy person can get ill in a bad environment. Your mental health will cure, I am sure. But you need to hear to this and change something. Sometimes you might think you don’t even have a strength to look for a new job, but it is better to loose a job than loos yourself. When I fear of loosing job, and be unemployed, I remind myself that I am even ashamed that I am so focused on this damn job that I just am ashamed that I don’t value life. Life is much more than a job or appreciation from people. And you know it for sure, just the fear won’t let you see it clear. I wish you a brave and happy steps to your happiness. God bless you 💕

Hello Connie! I speak from Brazil and have had a similar experience to yours for some time now. In fact, I have always been resistant to the pressure of the world, both in my social life and in my engineering profession. And, because of this, perhaps it was easier to change paths. But even so, I exchanged the hustle culture for the culture of 'being nothing'. I don't need titles, outstanding career, I don't need recognition. Everything I need to succeed is within me! I exchanged my outer life for the inner life, I live in peace. Today, I prefer the company of plants, animals, my brothers from the kingdoms of nature than human insanity and lack of reverence. I hear the sound, I see the hues and mathematical forms of creation. Earth is wonderful, life is wonderful and it shines around us. Living in peace is an act of love for sure! See ya. Newton
I'll take boring over drama any day of the week.
I live in a housing addition just outside of town but I have close access to the country just out my back door. I use it often and it’s like I enter Oz. I often go with my daughter and we are so happy just walking and doing nothing. She is 2 and absorbing everything and I absorb it with her. 🍁🍂

I am so glad I came across this video today. This is exactly where I am now. I was feeling my days with so many things because I felt this was what was expected of me. The more I was doing, the more stressed and exhausted I became. I was spiritually disconnected. I finally just stopped. I completely pulled away from the “hustle culture” and started reconnecting with myself and my source. I was scary at first and I had a great deal of guilt and anxiety. I was initially consumed with concerns about what others would think about me and what I assumed they were saying about my behavior. After a couple of weeks, these fears are beginning to fade and I am feeling more connected and less anxious. I know in my soul that this is what I need. Thank you for this beautiful message. Don’t be sorry, you didn’t do anything wrong. You need to allow the universe to take its path.Your path started when you and universe balanced together. One core of Hinduism belief is ; everything in universe has to come together to see one thing occurs!!! Best wishes!

Connie, there is nothing boring about this life you live, its beautiful, slow and how it should be . Greetings from 🇬🇧
Joy is an inner feeling based on inner contentment and is eternal. Happiness is external expression based on external euphoria and is temporary. It is Joy you want, and not happiness. Glad you found it, Connie.

Happiness is also an extension and a byproduct of inner joy and inner contentment. Happiness can be momentary or eternal. Happiness based on material things is temporary and short-lived, happiness based on inner contentment, simple living and gratitude is enduring and long lasting. Joy and happiness and contentment then become synonymous.
“I no longer wait for a big event to be happy.” ❤
I think simplicity is not boring but calming and beautiful. We have a choice each day to create chaos or joy,to take or to give back,to be cruel or be kind. Loved this. Blessings 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa

Ordinary boring lives are bliss.peacefull stress free.
I feel the same - not doing enough, I am not enough. 😢 But it is wrong way to think
Your videos are hitting home for me. I am in the process of slowing down and trying to live in the present without feeling the need to be accomplishing something. Boring is good! Thank you.
Beautifully expressed Connie. 🙏💛
It is SO wonderful to have your thoughts and images and soothing voice speak out loud all the things I have felt for years! This modern life is too fast! I am always fighting to slow everyone around me down. I avoid so many extra things to “ fill” my day. I do NOT need them. I am happy in my own skin just enjoying the day. I paint, I cook, I garden , take are of the family and house etc. and I am content. Wish I did not have to live in a city, but that will change in the next few years. I retired from my fast paced crazy intensely stressful career to raise my child. I look back on that decision and am proud of it. I hope more people find your channel and the peace you share. Hugs and thank you,
Having courage to live a simple life is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your life experience in this complex world.
I love fall and you walking in the woods put a smile on my face. Simplicity is key. Letting go of all unnecessary stuff and embracing just what you need is where I’m leaning towards in my life. It took me 55 years to realize this. I’ve always felt anxious when visiting a large hustle and bustle city. Ive felt more at home in a small town calmer atmosphere. Funny how with time and age we crave different things. I’m glad I found your channel. You inspire me.

Hi Connie, I’m on a new journey with my boys and our dog. I’m embracing and actually really enjoying the sense of freedom I now have and am actually grateful that the relationship ended. I wouldn’t be on my way and feeling so strong if it hadn’t. xx

Hi Nikki .Evans from Kenya here.stay strong and be happiest with your boys
Thank you for sharing, I completely identify with your choices. I too have chosen a simple life and am learning to be enough. I’ve moved to the mountains, living off grid complete quite and peace, a time of healing.
I enjoy coming home to my fur kiddos, making myself dinner, and having a glass of wine!
I thank you for slowing down and taking time to share this. Your posts are a joy. Blessings your way
Such a beautiful message. I feel so blessed to be retired comfortably and spend time out in nature with my husband and dog Sophie. I call our lifestyle "slow living". I did waste some years when I was younger chasing the hectic lifestly and fitting in. It was exhausting.
Connie, this is exactly how I feel about living and life. I embrace the boring and find great pleasure and joy in my family, friends, grandchildren, cooking, gardening, etc. Simple things to be sure, but I don't feel the need to be doing "things" all the time. I did enough when I was younger, and I worked my whole adult life up until 4 years ago. I like the slower pace and the quiet. I love to watch the wildlife where I live come walking through each day. I can watch them for hours. I have turkeys, deer, geese, rabbits, groundhogs, squirrels, and birds every day that walk through my yard in the early morning and then again in the evening going in the opposite direction. Give me a good book and a comfortable chair and I am content. What more could anyone want.
The sound of the leaf's on the trees...the nature's color's...the season who changed...the song of the water stream...the smell of the wet forest floor...

Life is rich and full. "Boring" is a way that people who thrive on lots of stimulation, lost of activity, running from this thing to the next, describe a life that is lacking that constant go go go. But by slowing down and paying attention to the beauty that's in front of you, boredom just doesn't happen. Instead, what comes up is wonder and gratitude and joy. Thank you for reminding us of this truth.
I just found this and I truly understand what you are saying. After Lupus inflammation in my brain, my life was turned upside down. Relearning everything taught me to slow down. I learned to knit and play guitar. I share these with others. Everything is so much more vivid. Ice cream tastes better, nature smells and is more beautiful.

As a stranger, I am very happy for you. Instead of thinking "where's the party at" I enjoy playing my guitars and putting together models and things. I love going for walks and smelling the outdoors and sometimes smells trigger beautiful memories and feelings.
This speaks to my heart. Thank you Connie.
So needed this today. 🙌 Thank you. Have a great weekend.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I chose to live a "BORING" life too. Enjoy simple things like walking in the park, reading or gardening. Finding calmness in my art. I was never a person who want to live a" noisy" life. And will never be 🙂
Thank you, Connie.
I love this video. I’m in complete agreement with this message. It took me 50 years to learn this too. 😊

Many never learn it. I turned 40 this year and feel the same. There is nothing left in the rat race for me, but there is everything else. God bless.
I need to play this video over and over again. I am retired for 5 years now and have given away so many things, but I have days of anger for given away things I loved. Had to down size, but I guess I have blessed someone else with my stuff. This crazy world will make you feel boring if you are not interacting with social media. Thanks Connie for the positivity message. I will continue to follow your channel. (the scenery was beautiful).

I too have given just about all I owned away. Even my homes. I am staying @ a friend’s home for a while. The only things I miss are the homes and furniture themselves. Home is in my heart. But honestly I can’t wait to have a home of my own again even if I rent it! 500 sq ft to myself & wittle dogs. Can’t wait

If you not sure of the giving away then auction the excess staff and use the money to relocate to a quiet place or if you already have a quiet place then use the money to install off-grid systems.
Thank you Connie , great video !! I love all the trees and bright colors , fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love to be out in nature I can spend all day by myself. I truly appreciate every moment that this life has to offer. Peace be with you always 🌼
Beautifully and powerfully said!
Recently I realized I'm enjoying my 6th decade...I'm in my early 50s. But SIX DECADES?! And parts were hectic and busy. Post covid my whole life has changed...no more 2 hour commute, no more on call duties, moved in with my mom and I feel GUILTY at times at how relaxed I can be. That is messed up! I yearn for this type of message so I can align with it to feel ok. I so get that feeling that I am not enough because of my family size or status or desire to be out of the entanglements of corporate work. Enough. Like another listener...I crave the simple and quiet. I love cross stitching and textile crafts, sewing and connecting with these like souls on "flosstube". For me, it's life and soul fulfilling.

Thank you Connie, Your commentary is well received. Enjoying every day in nature, and living simply is the key to health, and wellbeing.
I LOVE this video. It speaks to my heart and resonates strongly with my awakening point of view/new paradigm. I have let go of the hustle culture and I'm moving towards simplicity and presence and I'm all the happier for it. I am a human being not a human doing. Our worth and value as people are inherent whether or not we're out "conquering the world". Thank you for sharing this video. 😊 💯
Thank you for sharing this with us..🙏
Thank you, I needed to hear this! I'm on the same wavelength as you, can relate and have a mild form of MS. Love living the simple life close to nature and the sea like I do, doing my art i.e. painting and listening to the music I love! I'm a former retired NYC fashion illustrator/floral designer and a pianist/composer and raised a family and now that I have more time for myself, since being widowed I love re-connecting with my passions art, music and nature! I'm close with my beloved kids and grandkids, but don't miss the "human rat race", commuting and decided to ditch the fame game a long time ago! Not as enamored by this celebrity culture anymore like I used to be when I was an impressionable younger version of myself, thankfully! I think today, that narcissistic culture is getting worst than in the past! Maybe our lives aren't as "boring" as we think they are, after all! "T'is the gift to be simple, t'is the gift to be free. T'is the gift to come down and be where you ought to be"...old Shaker hymn! Blessed be, peace, love and namaste~ ♥🎨🖌🎼🎹🌳🏖
C: This is your best upload! It spoke to the way I've been living my life the last few years. Simple things are the best. Everything we need in life is right in front of our eyes. It is up to us to use the 5 senses God gave us. Listen to the leaves fluttering in the breeze. Hear the sounds of birds and life all around us. Work the soil and watch plants grow into things that nourish our bodies and flowers that bloom to stimulate our vision. Experiment with new recipes that fill and nourish you. Experiment with different spices and herbs. Its just as important to feed our bodies as to feed our souls. What a blessing to just be. Nature is making its own music all around us. My best advice: always be curious and keep learning about the things that interest you.
Hi Connie… Beautiful video and amazing context. I do understand your feelings in every bit of this video. I’m a Canuck(Canadian) and I was feeling the exact thing as you do when walking among trees . I am living now in Canary Islands and I always try to find myself throughout nature and it makes me really happy. Please, keep post us!!!!
Thank you so much, Connie! Just subscribed to your simple-life❣💯, minimalist content showing the path for recovery from brain trauma and all traumas. It is so wonderful that your daughter, too, has the milieu for just "being," as you state.
What a beautiful message. Thank you for sharing this Connie. I am also a brain-injury survivor. I love walking in the forest and taking photos of plants, communing with the Divine in nature, and celebrating the earth and animals. Blessings to you from North Vancouver, BC.
Thank you so much for Sharing. 🌸
Wow thank you for making this video!!!!!!!! I’ve been struggling with the same sentiment the last year. It’s just that it seems selfish to do it because of my circumstances as in my parents are codependent on me. I severely hate the position in life. I’ve always been a nature lover, lov taking things easy, being on my schedule, being a quiet environment, being around. Calm and respectful people. But no, yet I’m stuck being with people that are ungrateful and take advantage of you if you’re not careful.
It's good to accept simply who we are. Your grasp that it's okay to embrace the "boring" life over Hustle Culture really nails it. We don't need to feed our FOMO nature or worry about impressing others with our "accomplishments." We're good enough just being who we are. Jenny
What a beautiful video Connie. "Boring"? "Mundane"? LOLLL I laugh because your choice of words is intelligent indeed. In many (awakened) hearts watching this, the life you live is the life many dream of living. I just read something that has touched me. Allow me to share. " Your path is more difficult because your calling is higher. Make it happen. Shock everyone." For whatever we have gone through, are going through or will go through....we all have our personal calling. You dear Connie, are showing us what living our personal journey is all about; no matter what the outside influences want us to succumb to. I really appreciate this video very, very much. Especially with what I am experiencing in my own life; this video/your words, help me to understand even more. Thank you Connie 🙏💗
Connie thank you for sharing you have it right

Thanks, Connie! All true. 15 years ago, I hurt my back. I had to stop the relentless work-a-holic mentality. It was the best thing that ever happened. I downshifted. I'm 72 yrs. old now, but if I never slowed down, I wouldn't have lived this long. I'm certain of it. Still, the call is to acquire more stuff, conform, etc., but forget it- all the fancy stuff never made me as happy.
