I got it grey market and paid a premium. This was after like 2 years on wait lists with 2 AD's. This is just the reality of the market unfortunately.

And it has a date Loupe from a watch from the 1960's? It "looks" like it was made in 1965. I'm still laughing. For starters. No watch is "worth" more than $500.00. The gullibility of people astounds me and especially considering this thing is a "mechanical" watch with accuracy ratings of +/- 2 seconds per day and laughable shock resistance, ridiculous regular servicing costs and the fact that you paid $20,000 just for the brand name?. Because you DID! Oh I have a ROLEX!!!!!! LOOK EVERYONE!!!!!!! That's hysterical. These are bought by insecure poseurs who have no desire for an accurate time piece. My recent "purchase" was a Seiko Pepsi Prospex SSC785P PADI endorsed Solar powered Blue Silicone Mens Chronograph Watch on sale for US$310.00. It can keep time sitting in a draw in the dark for 8 months until I'd need to "shine any kind of light" on it for just a few hours to recharge the battery. No wearing required. No Jewels to wear out. These have accuracy ratings of +/- 15 seconds per month or 3 minutes per year. Your 23.5 grand joke is 24 minutes a year. Almost a half hour out? Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that's brand new and maintained for the servicing costs of an exotic supercar? Mine? $15.00 battery every 10 years and no other servicing required for decades.

Rolex states 2 seconds per day but in practice it’s actually better than this.

Really nice watch. Will you wear it - at least as a dress watch? What about servicing - Once a year? Cheers

Actually the Rolex service interval on these new models is only every 10 years. And I wouldn’t have it serviced us experiencing some issue.

I was soooo excited when I got mine, but I find myself wearing my 16600 way way more. I think I just prefer the older cases.

I'm assuming you purchased yours grey-market at a premium. If you bought it at retail, it would be silly not to immediately turn around and sell the blro at 4x the msrp. They will produce more and these will go way down in price.

The way I see it vintage is always better because you are getting the original design not the reissue. But certainly the ceramic bazel is an upgrade

@@phototristan I also had to go grey market, purchased mine two weeks ago. Once trying it on for the first time I couldn’t leave without it. First watch purchase as graduation gift. Royal oaks are were at 33k... and sky dwellers were also too high. The Pepsi is a stunner, absolutely love the jubilee bracelet as an OCD individual. This is a watch that I’m going to keep forever. Next pick up will most likely be either a royal oak 41 mm or the black GMT to wear it as a daily.

@@xDannyK Congrats on the purchase. It feels like these are valued high currently but at the same time, I really don't think we're even near the top of where the value may go. That said, I also don't plan on selling mine either.

That lume is way brighter than my 25 year old Submariner. Very nice watch. I do like the oyster bracelet.

I’m happy for you! I hope you wear it in good health. I have a vintage 1675, a 126710BLRO and BLNR along with a z-blue milgauss amongst others. While you’re right about Rolex value appreciation, it does make me cringe inside when people talk about how much they’re worth. Enjoy them for what they are and don’t worry about money. Whilst you’re right about savings account there are much better investments out there. Love watches for what they are

@@phototristan only partially true. People have very short memories. Cartier, Panerai, Franck Muller and others were all as hot as Rolex is now. Look what happened to them. Go back 5 years and there were no lists, second had other than vintage was not well over retail. It’s fine to keep an eye on how it’s doing. But if you base everything on secondary value, you’re not enjoying a watch. You’re worrying about it. @marc Goldberg has had several videos from viewers in this place. I’ve seen it loads. He’ll even Patek are struggling to sell anything other than Nautilus and Aquanaut

I found a watch like this on the bus. It is also Rolex and had blue and red colour. I think it’s this one. Is it valuable?

Most people who is they know rolex, MIGHT know the sub. Most will have no idea what a gmt complication is never mind the watch.

When I think of Rolex I think of Rolex Submariner not GMT

Tbh I wanted to get this but when I held it in my hands the finishing is so terrible. The jubilee bracelet steel feels so raw in my hands I thought it was fake. The earlier Rolex finish were better. Now it feels like a fast food joint.

So I was right then...

i'll buy a rolex when you can get them from the AD at retail. This grey market pricing is just stupid. Until then i'm happy buying grand seiko.

Sorry to say…worst watch brand I have ever owned (Rolex)! Never kept proper time - needed regular servicing -- and expensive…sold it and bought a Piaget! Much better value albiet much more expensive. Quality. I think you should work your way up the food chain if you expect a watch to be a good investment - must be collectible. Although, the watch you bought is very pretty!

If true, it sounds like you had a broken Rolex or something. The current ones like this have a great accuracy of +/- 2 seconds per day (actually better in reality), which I forgot to mention in this video.
