This is surreal, completely different to the experience I had when I bought my steel Submariner, I decided I needed to get a nice watch, and since I'm big James Bond fan, I decided on a Submariner. I used to work in Birmingham city centre, so on a whim, I walked over to Warches of Switzerland after work, and saw that they had a steel no-date Sub in the window. I walked in, asked to look at it, and then walked out with it on my wrist about ten minures later. The only reason it took so long was because they had a bit of trouble getting the screw out of the bracelet to size it to my wrist. The whole process from vaguely deciding I wanted a nice watch to owning a Submariner was less than 24 hours. Admittedly, this was nearly 20 years ago now, but I cant believe how different it is today. The fact that you have to put your name down on a years-long waiting list, and buy other watches you don't necessarily want just to gain favor with the dealer is bizarre

Hi Adam, had my first experience in my local AD a goldsmiths, first ever time i walked in, no purchase history, I was offered a seat, allowed to try on the sub Date black bezel, and the yachtmaster 40 rhodium.. ( Exhibition models ) I was honest open it was a milestone no special occasion.. I was offered champaign given a lovely new rolex book it was amazing vibes no negativity just open and honest.. when leaving he said hopefully things will be good by christmas 2021 for the Yachtmaster 40 rhodium as my first watch.. but nohing said in cement.. From this i gather high hopes!! what do you think? Ive been turned away from other Ads with absolute no joy but this one was completely different... thanks for your videos! subscribed!

I have the Mark 1 on oyster , before the hype started . I went on list in 2015

Amazing watch (though checking it out yesterday I was slightly underwhelmed by its bezel action, much prefer their divers in that regard). Am on a waitlist for the blue Milgauss now, love that piece.

This is my favorite watch, thanks for the video! Like I told my AD, I prefer the oyster but if you call me with one on jubilee I'm still coming in to get it! Lol. Along with the Explorer II polar dial for my 3 on the wishlist. Fingers crossed my time will come soon.

Congrats! I like the Bruce Wayne moniker instead of the Batgirl moniker. For me, it works better because it is a dresser watch that fits it's on wrist presence. Batgirl for a men's watch, for me, does not work. Enjoy and I hope the moniker Bruce Wayne catches on. Thoughts?

Personally I’m a big Jubilee bracelet fan and after wearing it for the last week or so, I can safely say it’s one of the comfiest bracelets on a watch! But I know people are split 50:50 between batgirl and Batman

Mate I was feeling exactly the same when I first registered. I’m a very normal guy, with a very normal income. The AD were very good to me and I was very lucky. You will get the call one day 🙏🏼

Hey Adam, just had my phone call from the York store regarding the Datejust too - wahoo! Out of curiosity, how did you approach registering for multiple watches with them, without it coming across as though you’re just going for the sought after models? I’d love a GMT too but was conscious of it looking as though I was only buying the Datejust as a stepping stone for the big boys! Would be great to hear what you did. Thanks

I registered for the GMT first, then a few month later registered for the DJ. Got the call for the DJ then the GMT. I don’t think it’s cheeky to register for a few of your desired models. Also buying your DJ shows your aren’t time wasting! I hope this help! They are fantastic there and really made my collection special

Yeah mate, I have been working with local AD here in Singapore for 2 years but really difficult to get GMT till this day altho I was able to obtain Sub & YM so far. Now, it is definately a pc that I'm dying to get. I couldn't be happier for you mate. And by the way those cocktails are fancy and I miss York so much! Hope you enjoy wearing it for years to come..

I finally got a call from my AD last week and got offered a rootbeer, mate! I feel absolutely over the moon.. Been waiting for almost a year since I put in my interest list. I can only say, don't ever give up the hope from getting the sport pieces from AD :) 🥂

Love my 2022 Batman on jubilee. Funny it looks massive on your wrist and quite small on mine. I have 7,5 inch wrist. What are yours. My other daily is the Rolex dsd jc 44 Mm

I registered my interest around August last year. So it took about 9 months mate. This isn’t a usual case and I was very lucky. I know some people who have waited 3 years

Hi mate, no I didn’t nag them, I just popped in over like Xmas time and birthdays and bought bits of Jewellery as and when I needed it. They were really good with me, and understood that I had a passion for watches

Interesting! I bought a datejust and they said I have very little chance in getting the gmt. Next that is likely is a black sub. Did they tell you gmt will be hard?

Hi Sach! Yes they did they basically told me it’s near impossible or I would be waiting about 3 years. However at my date just collection they could clearly see my passion and love for the watches. I had some great conversations with the AD. So in the end I think they decided to offer me the GMT 🙌🏼

As a fellow man United fan, once you get it on the wrist, I’ll never go back to Oyster ! The comfort of the Jubilee is a different level

Can all the Rolex geeks out there please stop calling a 40mm watch that was clearly made for men, the “Batgirl”???? If the goal is to simply distinguish the jubilee from the oyster bracelet then call it the “Bruce Wayne” or something since the jubilee bracelet is more flashy. Simple.
