I have been reviewing the Scout-Kenai. Great review, you confirmed what I’m looking for. Hope your head heals up quickly!

I prefer the screws on outlets to be horizontal.

Great points! I appreciate your perspectives. Still trying to decide between a slide in or a van. Thanks!

Glad you liked it! Good luck on your search. I would say if you want to hit trails with reasonable speed go truck. If that doesn't matter go van

Wow! I am in the process of getting new switchplate covers so thanks for the tip! ;-) We love our pop-up vintage truck camper for all the same reasons. The Scout looks pretty nice. Safe travels!! 💙Terry and Terri

hey- I'm looking at the Scout Yoho. (I currently travel full time in a Teardrop Trailer). I'm basically looking at truck campers for all the reasons you mentioned about being off grid. I know the Yoho is a bit smaller than the Kenai, but was wondering what truck you chose to haul your Scout around in? Also- being someone who's never owned a pickup or looked at Truck Campers at all- I was wondering if you put airbags on your suspension? I talked to Scout through email briefly and they recommend them.

Thanks for watching. I run mine on a 2019 f350. I have found that it's very easy to go over weight so I Lean on having more payload over being on the edge. I also run airbags but that's only because of how I have modified my suspension. There's a video on my truck and what I have done to it if you want to check that out.

@@vitaoverland sweet, thanks- i’ll check out the truck video. everyone i talk to says it’s best to get airbags. i would think i’d go over my payload once i put personal items in there and once i’m in there of course. was it easy to drill/install that bike mount in the back? i would be looking at mounting a ladder to the side as well as an extra propane canister.

Hey Zach, i'm trying to reach a decision between a truck camper from Scout or one from Total Composites. Did you consider both options before you landed with the Scout and if so where did Total Composites fall short? Im follwoing your build by the way; you are giving us great ideas. Look forward to seeing the finished project. Thanks

For me because it was my first camper I liked the idea of the scout being ready to rock right away and I could learn what I liked and adjust as needed. My next build will probably be more of a shell from a company with my own build so a total composites might suit me better then

Hola amigo, me gusta ese truck camper, el KENAI, pero oriéntame en algo; tengo un NISSAN FRONTIER, con capacidad de 2,425 libras de carga, puede ese auto llevar al KANAI, muchas gracias.

I definitely think that's too small for a kenai
