Why I Bought A Cessna 150

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Robert has been flying for over 30 years. He fell in love with the Cessna 150 early on, and he's only bought and flown a Cessna 150 since he's been a pilot. Must be love!

Your right about walking into a flying school and seeing how you're greeted. Walked out of several in my time and glad for it. The ones that take the time to meet/greet seem to give a hoot and you can see that right through the course of instruction.

@@mauriceevans6546 Yes, Light Sport is the Best thing the FAA has ever done, and from what I've been reading, they will be getting ready to raise the gross weight limit pretty soon. It will be nice to be able to fly a 140/150/152 and many other planes under a sport licence, instead of a private or recreational ticket.

@@scotabot7826 I recently found out about the private pilot glider rating. Allows you to get a glider rating with no medical at 16 and if you get a self launching endorsement you are allowed to fly any motorized glider like the pipistrel sinus any where in the world and up to 17999 ft. I just finished sport certificate in june( did my checkride in the pipistrel alpha trainer)and will be heading to Florida next month to get the glider rating in the sinus. The glider rating is 10 hours plus oral and checkride. I will no longer be limited to light sport rules and can fly under either depending on the aircraft. I am looking forward to traveling internationally like to Canada and cancun new mexico from key west florida or the bahamas then to some other islands in the Caribbean.

I am back on studying to take my written exam again, because when my flying training requirements were over on January 31, 2017 the written test certification had expired on January 15, 2017. It has been a little harder now to get back not into flying, but studying. I still fly with endorsements. The last time I flew was early in January this year (3 hrs). Last year I had the chance to fly with my son and a flight instructor from KLGB (Long Beach, CA) to KAVX (Avalon) Santa Catalina island. Flying makes me feel alive.

But yes, the lack of the significance of the trim makes it easier to fly but a bad trainer for future planese it does under 170 TSO like I said I've had one. I've loved it, I miss it and i'd get another one I missed the lack of real range I was always running low on fuel.

Have you tried fitting in a 152 or 152-II? I think the 1980's was the advent of seats that lower as they're moved backward. That won't help in width though. If it helps, an old air cooled VW Beetle has about the same seat width as a 152. Of course it's probably easier finding a 152 for a test fitment than an old Beetle.

If you can afford it YES! You'll still have your plane to build time after you get your license
