Maybe for Sportbikes. But for Enduros/Dualsports/Adv Bikes (a Term that wasn't that common in that Time :D) it was pure Hell. And apart from Sportbikes, horrible roundish plastic "future" y2k Designs.

Agree my 2003 r6 was the best bike i ever had. I own bmw ans aprilia now but plan to add an r6 back to the collection

My k6 gixxer 1000 has been sitting in the garage for years. This video has motivated me to get back on the saddle.

That's why I love my 05 CBR 1000rr because it's just so raw and there's nothing holding the bike back except for the rider, I'm glad I bought an older bike! I really want to buy an older GSXR now.

I'm not a jealous man by nature, but I gotta' say that I'm envious of having the skills to justify owning/riding one of the baddest sport bikes in history. ...If you can legitimately ride a ZX-11, CBR 954, original gen R1, ZX10, and an '08 GSX-R, you wear the crown. Good work 🤛

I had an 04 R1 and currently have a 06 z1000. Those early 2000s bikes are a whole different beast than modern liter bikes! The z1 is such a unique experience ill buy other bikes but ill never get rid of that one.

My friend use to have a 99 R1 with full race exhaust, till today my favorite sounding bike.

I have a k6 since 2006 and can't get rid of it for all the things you mentioned. Look forward to the build.

Congrats. Very beautiful motorcycle. Most of the bikes you thrash are much younger with far less miles. Please go through this thing and make sure the engine and oil seals are up to your standards. Last place you want an 17 years old oil seal to blow out is going 200 miles per hour. You might want to check the cam chain and chain guides for slop too I see what you are saying about the gearing. It looks like the bike is geared more for interstate cruising not acceleration. I saw it being just a little slower then the bikes you regularly thrash off the line but damn, not by much. New chain and sprockets gives you a definite idea when they were installed and the quality of those parts too. Someone else in the comments section says they think the steering head bolt is not aligned right so it's a fun fest of getting things on this bike up your Gixer brah standards. Gotta check the grease in the 17 year old wheel bearings too. You put your life on the line and nothing can be left to chance. I look forward to the video where you show off the new brakes. I will miss you riding the smaller bikes because you sure rode them like you were running through traffic in your track shoes at 180 miles per hour. Congrats Gixer , on your new classic rocket ship. Enjoy.

I just bought an '07 GSXR 750. It's in pristine condition and fast as hell. I absolutely love it. Much faster than I need to be and SOOOOO smooth.

I use to have the 06 in blue and white. Gorgeous bike and my favorite for a long time.

05-06 gsxr1000 is the definition of Supersport. I ride a street triple but man those liter bikes are tempting.

I would think a 20 year old GSXR that’s in good mechanical shape and available on the cheap is absolutely a no brainer.

Man I have a 2006 modified FZ1S and I tell you, it is nutty fast... has a real good remap on it... sounds amazing, puts out amazing power... and no crazy electronics... no ABS. no traction. no anti-wheelie... it is so much fun! If you really slap the throttle, the front wheel comes up in a controlled manor on its own... it is so much fun! great to see you enjoying an older bike! (next part for gixxer, stop reading if you are not gixxer!... I have a vod if you wanted to see of my bike😁)

The SC project exhaust sounds so so so good bike looks pretty good aside from some of the little scratches I saw on it it’s definitely a 10 for me

Bought a K6 new and rode it in the Isle of Man for 10 years to me the only place the bike can actually be used, mods were carbon wheels (turns like a 600, improves brakes and acceleration) and a quick action throttle because half the time the only thing holding the bike back is the riders ability to open the throttle quick enough (Yamaha R1 throttle tube fits and works). Such a stable machine, dynoed at 162 BHP. Do you know these things can hit top speed (limited 189mph) in 20 seconds from a standing start and only weigh 162kg (in my case wet due to the wheels) and this is a relativity long stroke motor so pulls real hard mid range and its that mid range that dominates on the road also BMW bench marked their RR1000 on the K5 4 years after it came out!

Imo I think the 750 is the greatest period...look at the current generation. 11 years and suzuki still haven't update SHIT..lol..and I'm noooot mad at all..I could care less about rider aides.. I started riding in the 2000s ,none of that existed so I got use to it... the 1000s are just violently fassst..the 750 is smooooth fassst..I don't mind working that gear box... stay safe bro!! Ive had 4 Gixxers . The K5 was the best one and still my favorite . Theres a reason why it got the nick name Godzilla and that reason is cause nothing compared to it . Even today its still a top contender . Good choice my friend.

That rip past the Nascar, I used to hit the same spot every week making my trips back to Houston from Colorado. Decatur is the last sketchy spot for LE. Once I hit DFW, always knew I was safe and gonna make it so absolutely rip through until I-45S.

Got a gsxr750.almost 4 yrs now ..still loving it..155 is fast enough for me. The 1000 is a rocket ,violently fasssst..bike just wanna throw u in a ditch..K5 imo is the greatest by far follow by the 04/05 zx10r..stay safe Brah💯

Amazing mind-blowing skills you have- Is it possible for you to make tutorials for the beginner super sport bike riders? I just started riding few months ago on a 900cc street bike and I now truly feel the need for speed. Sooner planning to purchase the GXR-1000 or Hayabusa but I'm little hesitant due to not having any skills or knowledge to ride such machines safely. I searched for videos on KZread on this subject but didn't really find anything helpful. I really want to learn to ride like you and the many other skilled riders, but I don't know where to begin. I have a 2016. Last of the no nany gsxr 1000. It is pretty. It is fast. I geared mine with 3 teeth to the rear. It does a GPS correct speed of 155mph. It doesn't take long to get there. It wheelies in third. At 60mph in 2nd gear it wheelies from there to over 100mph. It is amazing.

Just bought a k5 1000 myself yesterday. It supposedly is bored and has aftermarket cams so we'll see what she's all about.

About topping out 6th gear. The k5 1000 has a top speed limiter and some lower gear limiters as well! You can delete that straight in the ECU or get a healtech powerbox. Did mine with a ECU flash, runs all the rpms in 6th 😬

I love your riding style ! 👌👏 Im the same way and the plate was always on special bracket that was hidden behind the tire and bent up or down depending on the schedule.lol no cameras or anyone ever got me for speeding either! But this was 2010. And I forget the exhaust company brand name but it was just a tip on my 08' GSX-R 600 and got rid of the valve in the header & it felt like boost at 70mph+ from the forced air which equations to 7psi at 70mph all the way up to the top speed of 189 @16k redline but take it to 17k an hit 200mph. And 1-4th gear 9k-16k was power wheelies all day. 1st gear scary on a cold tire. But absolutely loved that bike and miss it more than any ex girlfriend. Anyways thanks for posting the video bruh I'm shaking just dreaming of riding right now😏😍🤯🤤💨🤌👏🤙 ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️

We are excited about the gixxer content.

I had the same model which I bought new in 2007, I had the blue and white which I think is the best colour scheme for a GSX-R1000.... I sold it when it was 4 years old with only 4,000 kilometres on the clock.... It was the worst decision of my entire life. I loved that bike and I should have kept it.... NEVER sell a bike is the lesson I learnt....I now have a collection of 12 bikes but I would buy back my Gixxer given half a chance....

Still have my 07 cbr 1krr.. bought brand new for $11,400 bucks.. there was never a reason to sell it.. I have a street glide i bought in 2014 so the cbr still has only 42k on it.. Its such a thrill the few times a year I smash the highway on it..

@@bootyslayer2868 06-07 had zero issues just thoroughly look it over like any other sport bike. Then ditch the 190/50 for a 55 so it'll perform like its meant to.

@@bootyslayer2868 it has been stupid reliable.. only routine maintenance.. the most notable, I replaced chain and sprockets, and rebuilt front forks at about 28k miles.. only tires and oil changes otherwise..

Are you clutchless up shifting? Damn it so satisfying to see people on KZread know how to do that. You should do clutchless downshiftings too. It works pretty well on gravel roads, it doesn't locks your rear tire.
