I agree with you and i think there are two reasons why homelander attacked her 1- She had blood powers and as you said they can be deadly to him because at the end of the day he is not god just a human with superpowers and he also has blood flowing through his veins and she can control it and the only reason numan didn't kill him was because of her child who homelander threatened to kill and maybe her powers are not as strong as marie according to me so she couldn't really kill him but he saw those powers and realised he could be hurt so he did what he did 2- He has started supporting supes over humans and after people cheered for him after killing that guy at the end of s3 he has become over arrogant if that is a word and he feels the need to make supes the real leaders of society and prove them superior

I don't think Homelander saw Marie as a threat, Marie at that point would've been pretty scary to those other young supes, and Homelander being a trained media specialist decided to take that power and fear she just earned for his own use.

@@thepopspective This one's tricky because Homelander is going to be behind the eighth ball in the first episode because he's busy with his trial and political chess game against Neuman, Sam is wiped so can't tell about the virus Cate will still be undergoing medical treatment, and Ashley doesn't know about the virus. Finding out that Neuman has it will fully freak him out, Because Marie tried to tell him but he didn't care to listen.

I definitely thought racist, considering things that have occurred in The Boys. I do think Marie & Neuman have the ability to defeat/control Homelander. After all, he’s still composed of blood. Might be a struggle to keep him controlled, but it’s possible. I haven’t read the comics, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Neuman dies this season.

The tv series detoured from the comic story in season one but maintains the core of the comic series. The comics were great but the series is somehow an improved upgrade of the comics making it amazing. Marie may have a shot but if it does not work she will die horribly.

I honestly think Homelander recruiting Marie then eventually making her a villain would’ve been so much more interesting but that’s my take. Besides, there is a theory that Marie might be able to save Butcher

I thought this was gonna be some half-assed CW esque spinoff. But this series is nearly on par as the main series.

If working together. The six students of God U, Marie, Jordan, Andre, Cate, Emma, and Sam could honestly slay Homelander. Jordan, Sam, and Emma would fight him physically. Andre would throwing be shit ton of metal at him. Marie would be dismantling him from the insides. Cate could control him to stop or die or whatever stops him.

She could potentially kill him ..but she’s physically weaker so she has to be a lot smarter about it than everyone else. I think she’s waiting for the right moment … hints the virus.

UK here.. just found your channel. i have to thank you, had no clue about Gen V. loved the boys. think it was absolutely brilliant. going to go find Gen V to watch it now so thanks again.. side note, have to admit that because this show is not the boys, me not knowing. i sat here trying to work out what season of the boys it was. feel like a dummy now cus was not till the end you said the boys and Gen V. wish they had made more of the boys but i suppose they ran out of ideas or something.. thanks again..

I still think both parts of your statement are true. He is racist for calling her “an animal” and sees Marie as a threat. Of all the people in the top 10, he targeted her specifically and had Vought primarily publicly villainize mostly POC individuals on TV. He is literally a superpowered 4Chan incel who chose to associate with Stormfront, a literal Nazi. Have we not forgotten?

I think butcher will still end up dead by the end sadly. Its just television tropes. He will sacrifice everything to bring homelander to a point of vulnerability (bleeding) so Marie can actually harness his blood. Dont bullets just bounce off him? He def needs to be bleeding before Marie gets to him, just from a compelling narrative perspective

homelander has brought his public perception from needing to be protected to , it doesn’t matter what he does, he can get away with anything BUT his physical invulnerability has been explored more and he has weakened, shown the gaps in his armor. in season 4 he will be at an all time high in terms of “political” power he might try and take over the government. either way, the man once without peer now has so many more threats to watch out for the blood benders the disease soldier boy knowing he can be hurt generally

Soldier Boys radiation is pretty big negating the supe's powers but the Lieutenant-Colonel Grace Mallory would have to get him out of cryo

The Boys is too much like the comic for me, except the show tightens up the story, while the comic was just a vehicle for Garth Ennis' needless disdain for super-hero comics. (Get get it, Mr. ENnis, you hate Super Hero, thanks to telling us a thousand times, we didn't get it the 1st 500. ) In the Boys floppies there's was always some character telling some backstory mirroring famous stories from Marvel and DC except with blood, SA, and every hero being secretly a psychotic. It got boring after about 12 issues for me and I stop reading. At the time me and my best friend collected comics together so we still bought it, but I've never looked at the floppies again. I watch the first 3 episodes of Gen-V and it felt too much like the comics. I mean, does everyone with a super power have to tortured and kinda evil? Everyone. That's how it felt. But I did find the fact that this Marie character literally survived one of Homelander's most powerful weapons. That's kind of interesting. I'm going to watch the boys through video essays. I'm just done with the whole "well actually super hero would be more of a problem then a solution." Alan Moore made the point a dozen times before he gave up on super hero comics, and no one is going to top Miracleman for "realistic super man" storyline. Homelander needs to die, and I hope they do it like they did in the comics.

If you only watch the boys for superhero side fair enough, but you are missing out on the best parts of the show (satire and social commentary, drama and themes like revenge and toxic masculinity, great writing, and fantastic acting/characters). Unlike what I’ve heard of the comics it’s really not dependent on the superhero parodies
