It's really a shame that no directors (besides James Cameron) were able to utilize the raw talent Billy Zane has. He really is one amazing actor and he's shown it when he's been given the right part and script. He's been unlucky when it comes to the scripts he's chose and the fact that no writers or directors were able to tap into his full potential. He's a very down-to-earth guy. So many celebs are pricks, but Zane is the opposite of his Titanic character Kal.

what I like about Billy Zane is he can play good and bad guys and is an excellent actor ...he has style and is the coolest bad guy around .love to see him do a Bond bad guy

His terrifying performance in DEAD CALM is one for the AGES. I just rewatched it again last night and knowing he was only 20 during filming… just blows my mind. I mean,he holds his own against wonderful leading actors like Neill and Kidman. And was soooo damn cute!

I'm Sorry Looper but The Phantom and The Shadow were amazing films. Not only were they comic accurate they were incredibly fun. The Rocketeer was also brilliant. I have been saying for several years that Billy Zane would make the perfect Lex Luther. Whether it be on Television or on the Big Screen. He is so charismatic and zany that he would be the most likable Lex Luther in History. He would be a million times better than Kevin Spacey or Jesse Eisenberg.

I don't even feel guilty for saying I like them. TO ME, they are genuinely good movies. My guilty pleasures are the Sister Act Movies, to the point that I have even seen the stage play. More recently pitch perfect one and two. I'm a fan of Whoopi Goldberg I loved her in Star Trek The Next Generation. And I absolutely love everything about Anna Kendrick

I don't think so. Hollywood has a really bad track record when it comes to pulp material because they just don't get the source. Pulp is equal parts campy and hard-boiled film noir, and has a pre-Second World War fascist subtext of white supremacy, misogyny, and casual racism. Because of the historical context it emerged from, it's impossible to give pulp mass appeal; if done properly, it's at best a niche market. The Shadow movie, by the way, was probably closest to the original source material, and you saw how badly it was savaged by critics and ignored by audiences. They made the mistake of marketing it as blockbuster action movie. I'd love to see Lady Domino, Doc Savage, Phantomas, and all the other pulp heroes get the big screen treatment, but it's unlikely to happen unless they rip the guts out of them -- in which case it will suck anyway.

It's interesting to note how they did mention how comics from the thirties aren't good material !! not surprisingly with the other three films they mentioned SHADOW, LONE RANGER and GREEN HORNET I recall studying some effects techniques in the SHADOW the radio series I liked !! the PHNATOM may yet have it's day!!

I love Billy Zane! When I was young, I wrote him a fan letter - a few weeks later, I received an autographed photo in the mail. I was so excited! This was 25 years ago, and I still have it. :-D And what's this about Hollywood not casting him? Have you seen his filmography? He has worked consistently! He is a great actor, and I will watch anything he is in.

I met Billy tonight I was doing a delivery and it said Billy Z. when I called to ask him a question I said is this Billy Zane the actor he said I don't know if I should tell you.. yeah but are you going to tell other people he was so nice when I got to his place he just waited for me out front where he met me out front and we talked for a while and I asked him questions and everything he was really nice and I said you know what I'm going to tell everyone that you're really nice and he said that he appreciates that. He was cool! Totally movie star handome in person!

Billy Zane as Lex Luther, he would of shined greatly in that role

Billy Zane looks like he could've been a leading man in a movie between the 1940s-1960s.

Billy was a headturner when he was younger. Yummy!

I liked Zane as the Phantom. The main plotline was weak, but it definitely had the right flavor. Zane was a good Kit Walker and the movie played some great fan service for Phantom fans, the few that we are. Speaking of fan service, The Shadow was very good, too. It was a rich combination of the long-running radio show character and the Shadow from the novels Maxwell Grant novels. The problem is that The Shadow and The Phantom, and even John Carter, are pulp heroes from the 20s and 30s. Not many people know who they are and their re-introductions to the world were mis-handled. Makes me wonder how they will handle the Doc Savage movie that is rumored to going into production soon.

If you look at his IMDB, he had 4 roles in 2018 and is currently in 1 TV show and was in a couple of episodes of The Boys. He is in 6 different films currently in post-production or filming for 2020. I think he is doing just fine.

He's a great actor. I wish he would be in more movies. He did great playing that psycho in Dead Calm and as we all know he did fantastic in Titanic. I mean Kal is one of those Jeremy Irons-esc type characters. Y'know? Like you "love to hate him" type thing. And it takes a hell of an actor to pull off that rare hit. It's hard to achieve that type of villain. Billy Zane did it flawlessly.

Billy Zane was superb in The Phantom (1996). After seeing the film in a theater we also rented the VHS cassette from Blockbuster while they were running a Phantom promotion that included a packet of microwave popcorn, a nice-sized plastic bowl with a lid (for the popcorn) and a few other goodies.

He was gorgeous and creepy in both Dead Calm and Demon Knight.

When i was 4th grader I watched titanic and i said to my parents billy zane the handsome actor in the whole wide world

A dear departed friend of mine had some very incredible jobs, one of which was being part of Hugh Hefner's security detail. I'm told Hefner had a policy of no drugs at the mansion, well they found Billy Zane passed out on a walkway on something and he was banned for life. He repeatedly tried to get permission to return, but was refused every time.

Zane is so underrated. He was amazing in Guilt.

I think it's a shame. They just gave him too many lame character roles. I remember seeing him a long time ago in a movie called Dead Calm with Nicole Kidman (x wife of Tom Cruise) and Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Hunt for Red October). I thought he was pretty good in that one.

The Phantom is Actually a FUN and very enjoyable movie. Love the feel ...

I had the biggest crush on him back in the day.

One cannot fail to mention Billy Zane's "John Justice Wheeler" character from Twin Peaks!

He was the guy producers originally wanted to play Johnny in "Dirty Dancing" and even did a screen test with Jennifer Grey but I think we can all agree, Billy agreed, that Patrick was a much better dancer and suited the part.

He was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and then his career sort of just stopped dead in it's tracks. I mean there are lots of stars that seem to disappear but I always get hung up on this one.
