You should've watched Ed's Bruce Willis roast speech before doing this, he was making fun of himself & Bruce in that Bruce lacks substance & his approach has proven detrimental to his career opportunities. Also, they were ALREADY done filming the movie, which he joked about. So yes they're still cool, buuuuuuuut the Motherless Brooklyn clip is not a testament to that. They love each other undoubtedly.

The rest of the planet doesn't even give a damn about Oscar and hardly think of Hollywood as a credible institution after so many crap decades after decades. Edward Norton is probably the best actor I’ve ever seen. He is amazing! His ability to portray mental health issues like multiple personality disorder and schizophrenia are untouchable. Plus, he just has a quick wit and dry dark sense of humor. He’s the best.

So let him drop me a note and collect the whole bunch of Oscars that he would ever still wish for. Roughly put, it plays during the first century AD, involves the Essenes. There has been made more than enough crap movies and series. This is the real deal how the NT got into being and will baffle the entire world. To add to what you're saying.... Norton is obviously über Smart. The prob for him is that movies are supposed to be a collaborative effort. Über Smart people don't always get on with others bc they themselves actually do know best. Which explains why he prob would be best in a Director role. However Hollywood is more about people and teamwork, so someone who values the ART of movies but doesn't get on with the people is unlikely to succeed long enough there. He needs to apply his talents ELSEWHERE. :-)

@Max Shaw Obviously he didn't want The Incredible Hulk to turn out the way it did. That's why Marvel re-edited the film afterwards to reduce the dialogue and add more action. I imagine the film Norton wanted would have been a boring box-office flop, but the critics would have enjoyed it exploring challenging themes like mental illness, scientific morality vs scientific progress, the corrupting influence of power and the military-industrial complex. Given how the Marvel Cinematic Universe has turned out they clearly made the right call to change the film and recast Norton, but it is still a testament to his purity.

Why does hollywood reject Ed Norton? Why is he impossible to work with? Because he's is sober, doesn't like politics, Never hung out with both weinstein and epstein, and he can act. Thats why!

He's one of the best and he knows it. True artists don't like to compromise when it comes to their art. I'd love to see him more often on the big screen.

I honestly think why Edward was “hard to work with” is probably because of his anger issues and his strong opinions. He is an incredible actor and will always be the original Hulk to me.

Being rejected by hollywood these days is more like a praise, means Ed does something right!

Norton doesn't subscribe to the Wienstien/ Epstein deficit of moral code. If Prince Andrew is removed frim Royal duties, and Bill Gates wife divorces him, why isnt Bill Gates canceled?

The man is either hard to work with, or is just a damn genius. Glad to see him starting to do his own films.

He will always be one of my favorites for his role in Fight Club alone.

N3rd Degree thats a good point, the problem is what makes him a A list actor is superior ambition. If he thinks a script or the costume or whatever will lessen the quality you are not going to be able to stop him from changing it or fighting you.

No matter how hard you try to play him down, you will fail. Norton is a theatrical genius.

Hello Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial. On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people. While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there. Norton’s ground breaking debut in primal fear was no accident. His performance must have been seen as a brand new gold mine in the eyes of the movie makers.

He seems like the smartest and nicest person ever. And anything he’s in is good. He’s doing fine.

"Hollywood" just doesn't have the vision that Norton has. It all happens for the best as Norton can put all his talent to work now! Much to the dismay of "Hollywood"...Rock on Ed!!!

At this point it's pretty clear Hollywood is just hindering Norton, rather than the other way.

Personally, I think he’s an amazing actor. However, if he’s as difficult to work with as they say, I can understand why he’s being blacklisted. It’s a shame though. He has so much talent to share.

Ed presents like an artist. Eccentric, intense and captivating. Hope to see him on screen more.

He's an infinitely better actor than the vast majority of Hollywood, Bollywood or any other place. He has several movies that are classic performances and all time greats.

Greatness expects greatness. He is truely one of the greatest actors of all time

I love him and appreciate that he has the courage to piss off people in Hollywood because he’s not willing to stay within the framework of normality. Although I do wish he would play nice more often so that us the audience may have the pleasure of seeing him in more work

I was thinking the same. Not everybody in the industry is rejecting him. Maybe he needs to find the right people to work with. Movies with Wes Anderson have been great. If he truly cares about the quality of the end-product and strives to improve it, personally don't care if he steps on someone's toes. Hulk was a bit of a mess, though, I agree.

I think Norton is a genius. That about covers it. I miss him in my movies.

When I saw Primal Fear” I was truly mesmerized. I knew I was watching the greatest actor I had ever seen. Do your own things Edward Norton. You are a genius!!

It sounds like his rewrites and changes were better and the director's and writers guild felt threatened by him. So many crap movies have been coming out and I miss seeing him movies.

I agree with him about American history x, I can't see over 30 minutes cut from that movie. Should have won best picture

Ramsay Bolton- Thogh I have Amarican History on as second best, I still think his role in that first movie as him being a psycho altar boy, Is his absolutely best role EVER! I SOOOO bought that. I sat with my jaws on my knees at the end, there ; )

Years of brilliant performances tell me Norton doesn’t settle for second best, and his cut of American History X is iconic. Easily one of my favourite ever actors.

When you are super talented it is clear that some Hollywood Power Players are afraid of being outshined. Edward Norton is a super actor and I will watch his movies every chance I get. Best wishes Edward Norton.

Edwards is an extraordinary actor. Perhaps he’s like the Steve Jobs of theatre. That version of Incredible Hulk got me totally interested in Edwards. I totally loved him in Birdman, incredible performance. Yes I believe he has the capacity for becoming a great director.

He is a great actor. I agree he should make his own movies.

Edward Norton is one of the best actors of the last 50 years, easily. I could see where he might be a bit of a pain to work with, but a lot of the best in the business seem to have a bit of that reputation. I hope he does make movies on his own terms. There's plenty of crappy movies being constantly pumped out of Hollywood, so I'm all for someone with some standards to give us something else.

Ive heard that his character in Birdman was pretty accurate of how he is in real life lol. Arrogant and always trying to control the set(telling people how to act, demanding script rewrites etc). I think he's an absolute perfectionist and brilliant actor.

The final scene in Primal Fear. Chilling! And all down to close-up acting.

He's right up there with the likes of Daniel Day-Lewis. A truly great actor. I wish he didn't piss people off so much though because I'd like to have seen more of him.

Edward Norton is an acting god I love him in everything he's ever done

I really liked motherless Brooklyn but it seem’s like none of the critics did. He’s one of my favorite actors.

i remember i watched the incredible hulk back in 2008. i was a child back then and couldn't remember what was my impression of the movie. i knew edward norton because of his role as king baldwin iv in kingdom of heaven, which i just watched recently, and damn, he was mesmerizing as the leper king. you don't often see actors succeeding in conveying emotions behind a mask, but edward norton pulled it off effortlessly. i just wish he gets more recognized with this role. you know what edward norton and baldwin iv share in common? they're both kings.

He drew his inspirations from people like Al, De Niro, Sir Ian, etc. That's some solid ground for perfection. No wonder Norton is so perfect in what he does and delivers.

The guy should just be a director.

Edward Norton is terrific in so many ways. It's too bad we don't see him anymore. Hope this changes soon. NOW!

He is an incredibly talented man.

He is one of the best actors of this century. Of course he plays up, he’s a genius. My favorite . Love you Edward. Don’t get in line with the sheep. ❤️

He just sounds like a real creative. And that people are envious of his talent, and made insecure by their subpar acting, writing, directing skills. But yes, he is probably difficult to work with. But he doesn't sound abusive or toxic.

Pound for pound one of the BEST actors out there.

Wes Anderson doesn’t seem to have a problem with Ed.

Hell yeah.... He played "the ass hole friend" part to the point in the movie....loved Malkovich as teddy KGB too.... "pey thait man hiis maaniy".

I think Edward is one of the best actors alive. I will watch whatever he is in.

All you have really pointed out is that he really cares about his craft and wants the movie to be the best it can. I have enjoyed all Nortons movies and the ones you mentioned seemed to have benefited from his input.
