Why Hitler's Nephew Was His Worst Enemy

Hitler had plenty of enemies who would have loved to take a chance at ending his life, but he never expected one of his own family members to turn against him! Check out today's insane true story that takes a different look at Hitler during World War 2, and his nephew, who wanted nothing more than to put an end to Hitler once and for all.

You see, those four boys were not the only family descendants of high-ranking former Nazis to decide "the bloodline ends with us". And that's sad. They weren't responsible for their family's shame or their great-uncle's actions. The changing of their names and disappearing into the background of US life would have been sufficient if they were that upset about it. They should not have felt that they were tainted or were bound to be as evil as their uncle if they had continued to have a family of their own.

Tis a shame, a lot of descendants of high ranking Nazis decided not to have children and even self castrated to end their bloodline. A PBS broadcast commemorating WW2 show a niece of Heindrich Himmler (one of Hitler's generals) was so ashamed of her background that she got herself castrated to end her lineage cause she feared she would raised a monster.

I feel extremely chastised right now. When I first saw this video's thumbnail I immediately thought that Adolf had an actual opponent for the title of worst human in world history. I never even considered that William may in fact be a decent person who hated his uncle and would happily spit on his grave. I'm reminded of a passage from Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech I Have a Dream: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." It may not match up perfectly but this man's dream still applies to William's character. He was a truly decent man and chose to appose his uncle rather than join him. I feel like I've done the absolute worst thing possible to a man who was a true American Patriot and ask for forgiveness for unintentionally spitting on his memory.

I don't blame William or his sons for not wanting people to know. I'm a distant relative on my grandma's side to Adolf and I'll straight up tell you I despise Adolf but I'd never hate anybody else. I'd shake Wlliam's hand and then punch Adolf. That's how I feel about him. Many of my family members and I don't claim Adolf. I'm sorry to all the Jews and other families what he did to you. Like William I can't stand the thought of him. So, in my aunt's neighborhood there was a house that had a very hardworking German family in it. Immigrants, they worked harder than most. The father was a phlebotomist the mother a house frau. They had a few children. Eventually the father moved his business into a proper lab and invested in a graveyard. A hebrew cemetery. After he passed he left the property to his wife and children and after his wife passed, they sold the business and retired to that cemetery. A few generations went by. Some living in the house up the block from the original and the others at the cemetery. These were Adolph Hitler's relatives. They fled Germany before WWII after receiving death threats related to good ol uncle Adolph. When I was a child I played with his great grandchildren. I had no idea who they were. But when I was with a friend to lay a wreath at that cemetery they saw and recognized me and we talked a bit. They seemed skittish so I asked why and they told me. There was an article published in the local paper about them owning that cemetery and how everyone loved them so they were afraid people were looking for a story or more vandalism. It was sad to think that in 2008 they still had to hide their last name and were still investigated right out of their privacy. As irony would have it, it just brought more business to that particular cemetery. In the end I asked why they never told me their names, and they said they didn't want to lose their only friend in town. Hit me in the feels. And how I met them? Lol, they attacked me as a family. Three young men. I had been training martial arts just a few years at the time but I was able to submit each one of them with a lot of running and cursing in between. As I gave my hand to each to help up each one in turn respected me for my ability and wanted to know where I learned it. They had nothing but admiration and respect laced with apologies and some kool aid and cookies. Even their parents were very nice, ordinary people. Edit-After watching the video I can see what infographics got wrong. William was never alone. From Germany to England to NY he always had a mate or someone loosely related to him. Oh and his children had children. I have no idea why Infographics got this so very wrong. I played with those children. I was too young to have played with the grandchildren. And they didn't lie to me. The article about the cemetery was missing so I have to guess they got in touch with them and they asked for this or anonymity. They never once told me I couldn't tell anyone this. And they were proud of their Jewish Cemetery.

Them keeping their children a secret was probably an attempt to protect their children. Lots of crazy people out there wanting Hitler's blood for reasons. That or the hate. No child should have to deal with that. If you know the truth you should probably keep it to yourself. After all, there is no benefit to revealing the truth other than closure for random people that don't need it. Let it be lost to history. That way, their children's children can live a peaceful life.
