Lol Fate is such utter fucking trash ass garbage... 🤣 It would have been MUCH better off staying as the trashy hentai visual novel it originally was (aka the story was about as important as any other story in porn... as in not at all beyond being a scaffolding to wrap the sex scene payoff's around) than getting high on its on supply and deciding it actually WASN'T the schlocky "Choose Your Own Adventure, but Porn!" it was and instead some deep, quality story strong enough to support a MASSIVE franchise. 🤷 Without the sex scenes Fate's narrative is about as strong and enjoyable as any other porn movie with the sex scenes ripped out. Aka, not at all. (The only partial exception to this being when Ufotable realized that Fate's story is absolutely fucking trash and cannot support itself, and thus tried to replace all the sex with legitimately insane fight scene choreography instead in UBW.)

I think the mata hari translate is not quite accurate. Matahari as a single word mean sun, but mata is eyes and hari means days. So its more eyes of the day hence a sun rather than dawn. Dawn in Indonesian is fajar or dini hari (early in days).

One of the most saddest stories in history. A woman living in a world where women were treated as objects. A world where women didn't have any choice of freedom or happiness. Forced to either lie, cheat, give eternal servitude to a man, or sell their body just to survive. Pushed around and used by other people until her usefulness ran out. And then discarded like trash. A shame to everyone involved at that time.

Your forgetting there was tons of Normal people living normal lives even back then. She choose her path and forged it. She could've married a chill farmer dude and lived a longer fullfilling life. I like how we take all the accountability off the woman. She was a product of a broken home and became part of the statistic. The only real tragedy here was She didn't have a good stable family. Just like John Dillonger did the things he did she choose the things She wanted to do. Choices have Consequences. Alot of people didn't recieve due process like her during the war time.
