I wish I had watched this video long back. The thing is that people give you flowery hopes on the internet and not the reality. After scoring not so good in first 2 semesters, even afyer working really hard, i stopped focusing on GPA and did all other things. Turns out most of the other things didn't really matter, even LOR from prof of IIT. Trust me guys, this guy is absolutely right. Even if you have a low GRE score, but very high GPA, there are certain GPA centric schools that will still accept you.

@@SajagPorwal yes definitely. I have also recommended your channel as well as parth Vijayvargiya, YMGrad, And Yudi J to them, and whenevr they fall prey to some useless POR in college, I advise them to focus on their GPA. I have excellent PORs but nothing worked.

I have decent GPA (>8.5) , 3 projects (out of which 2 are really innovative), an internship, 1 state level award and participated in many workshops, all of which is in the field i want to pursue my masters in. Select an area of interest you may want to do Major during the masters. If possible get associated with a Professor, work on some research project and talk about it in your SOP. Having a research paper (IEEE or better) on your name always helps.

Hey , now that ur consider profile a bit week, try to get some projects and internship , it adds a lot .Not only IEEE, TRY publishing a paper on ur related field. Honestly cgpa matters only to an extent . My gre is 299 ...bit I was able to get an admit for Neu Boston and University of Maryland College park 😁. CGPA 7.56 One of my frnd got gre 303...and with high cgpa(8.8 )got into torronto Canada..... It's not the end of the world, prepare an awesome SOP....Hope this helps

It would be really great if you could answer them. 1.)Apart from research paper, what other things one can do to improve ones profile (my cgpa-7.77) ? What is the trade off for going to higher ranked(above top 50)universities but are having good and reputed CS courses(like sjsu, colorado state, etc) ? What about opportunities in Software development if you do mis from Top 20-30 universities?

​@@RahulPandey-jo6rk 1. You can always work on good projects and get relevant work experience. 2. Rankings vary based on where are you looking at. In general, what matters, how reputed is a particular course. It tells you about the course-work, faculties, fellow students, research work, and at the end opportunities. Location also matters a lot if you are planning to get a Job after your master's. No college is good/bad but if you study well, have a good understanding of fundamentals you will do well from any university. if not, then you should try for a higher-ranked university whose rigorous course work will help you learn. 3. Again if you are just planning for a Job after master, MIS is a good option. From what I have accumulated so far MIS touches upon CS topics but never goes much deep into it. The course work is mostly industry-driven and revolves around web development etc. Personal opinion: I'll always prefer CS over MIS if I get admits from both.

What is equivalent gpa for 8 and above cgpa

It's been a while , please make a video on your co op, ..current situation due to recent changes by trump on H1B visa....also how co op works in NEU , different than other colleges

GPA is one chapter of story. Focus of GRE score,SOP,LOR,etc Make your profile stand out.

does the college u graduated from for btech matter? if its an NIT does it help even if gpa is 7.7

I have 55%. bt got 315 marks in gre. and have 4 yrs of experience as a software engineer in 2 companies. Want to do MS in MIS. I have done many extra curricular activities also. Can I get my admission in atleast middle tier colleges? Even consultancies told me that not to do MS now. As its useless for me. Bt I want to work and to get some work experience in usa.
