    People say that now Harry has gone, Spurs are a better 'team', I totally disagree, there is no team in the world he would not enhance. If he'd gotten his move to Man City he'd be blitzing british goal scoring and maybe assist records, he's on track to break Lewandowski's record in his first season, if Bayern can lift old big ears he'll be on for a Ballon D'or. He's the best centre forward I've ever seen, he looks good for a few more years yet barring serious injury. He's a model pro who recognises that the interests of his team come first and is a great example to any aspiring young players. I hope that once he has slaked his trophy thirst with Bayern he'll still have the legs to come back to WHL for his swansong.

    wait until Bayern get to the champions league knockouts against proper opposition and you'll see that Kane really isn't the ideal player when he goes hiding. Nobody should be surprised that he's getting hat tricks and braces against teams nowhere near the level of Bayern - his ability to stat-pad against minnows was never in question. Put him in an evenly contested game where the pressure is really on, when he's fluffing penalties and hiding miles outside of the box because he's too scared of old timers like Chiellini and Bonucci and the narrative will soon change about him being the perfect player for Bayern.

    I'd really like to know what evidence you have of supporting this claim. I'm not sure you can reference Tottenham Hotspurs as Kane often dropped deeper against the tougher teams who kept posession well. I think his role will be slightly different at Bayern and he can concentrate on doing what he does best, and that's shoving the ball between the posts. Kane has never had problems puting away chances, if opportunities dry up because the opposition is that much better, you can't pin that all on Kane.

  • @highnoon7097

    @highnoon7097

    @@dtrjones I think you need to learn to read. Go back and read my comment. Where exactly did I say it has anything to do with Spurs? Or for that matter, when did I say he can't "shove it between the posts". I've clearly referred to him stat padding his goal numbers up. I don't question his ability to score goals. The glaring obvious point I've made is that in every big game Kane has bottled it. There's a huge difference between scoring in an 8 nil win, to putting in a good performance against top opposition when you are at risk of elimination. It's beyond any question, even the most generic, fairweather of football fans know it's cut and dried that Kane bottles it on every big occassion. You are massively in denial if you still refuse to accept the truth. It's on par with United fans insisting for 6 years that Pogba is world class despite the evidence clearly suggesting otherwise. The first sign was the England v Iceland game. The entire team were spineless but it was telling that at 2-1 down, Kane's head completely went. Scuffing corner kicks and numerous free kicks just miles off target. Elite players respond positively to moments of adversity, Kane goes the other way and his talent abandons him. But hey, maybe he was just young at the time. So let's go to the champions league final, the biggest club game of his life. The argument on social media, talkshiteFM etc was half a fanbase saying he'll bottle the final and half a fanbase saying "no he's elite wurld class litrelly best striker evas". He was dogshit in the final, so the "he's a bottler" argument won. So then the argument changed to "no that was just one game, he'll show his class in the next big game". Ok then, lets examine the next big game with enormous pressure. World Cup 2018. "Kane is litrelly incrediblez" because he scored against Panama and Tunisia. As soon as the pressure was really on in the knockout stages he was shocking. He basically got a flight home at half time against Columbia and did nowt thereafter, he was particularly useless against Croatia which yet again was the game with the most pressure. He was that bad that the pundits in the studio were convinced he was injured. It transpired he was fully fit, but the pressure had clearly crippled him. Fast forward to England v Germany at Wembley 2021. Surely as captain he has the bollocks to step up and prove his doubters wrong, in probably the biggest England game of his career at that point. Nope, he was shocking again. They were even saying it at half time why did he drag that chance at the end of the first half, completely ballsed it up when it was piss easy to just shoot first time. His trepidation and body language clearly showed how uncomfortable he was in this game, too much responsibility. Then he goes onto a bigger game, a semi vs Denmark where he is appalling again, too scared to step foot in the Danish defence because Kjaer and ballon dor candidate Vestergaard are too much for him. He gets a penalty, the biggest penalty of his life at that point. Guess what, he bollocks it up and kicks it straight at Schmeichel. He then gets to the final and is some how he is even worse. The stats don't lie, he didn't touch the ball in Italy's box in 120 minutes. Put him against the same opponent in a friendly and he'd have probably got a hat trick. The pressure gets to him, he retreats further and further away from the box and just does the one tactic of backing into the defender to win a free kick. It's like his legs betray him and he wades through mud in his timberlands. As one fan said in a phone-in show said "Harry Kane? I've seen milk turn quicker". England v France, the first big game of England's World Cup. Gets a penalty in the final part of the game. How's your nerve Harry? It's in row z, that's where it is. Again, give him a penalty without any pressure and he scores it every time. Give him a penalty when it actually matters and he isn't the same player. There is absolutely no excuse for a supposedly world class player to batter the ball so far off target. It's got to be one of the worst penalties in world cup history, taken by one of the best penalty takers out there. This is clearly not a question of ability but his mindset, he just can't deal with the pressure. The evidence is there, it isn't my fault you choose to ignore it because you're a fully paid up member of the Harry Kane fan club. At no point have I said he's a bad player. But he's limited in his purpose. Put him in against Bochum and he'll score for fun, just like he'd always do against the Southamptons of the premier league. The point I've made is that when Bayern come up against a proper opponent, where everyone is watching, where the stakes are on the line, Kane disappears. We'll see the Kane debacle unfurl again in a matter of months when Bayern come up against Madrid, City etc. I'll be correct (again) and yet mere weeks later when England turn up to the Euros, I'll have Kane simps like you saying "there's no evidence of him ever bottling a big game in his entire career". Kane could go on to bottle every big game for the rest of his career but people like you lot will still be insisting he's perfect in every game.
