The difference between h3's old content and the podcast is one simple thing, editing. The podcast is raw unfiltered Ethan where as the videos they could cut out stuff that might put Ethan in a bad light.

This followed on from them being taken off the trending page because KZread mistakenly identified a racial slur in a video which didn't exist. Logan Paul gets away with everything, meanwhile the h3 podcast gets slammed because KZread won't actually invest in protecting creator content and investigating issues for high profile creators properly

@@Rubycek it's a common thing in rap now where you don't use the last line as a part of rhyming, they use the rest of the line to keep the bar and flow going, it's like using the last word as an adlib sort of. I wouldn't really call that lazy but the way Drake used it is.

Ethan is not complaining that Logan Paul is successful per se, he's complaining that his content appears to get a pass for its questionable content in comparison to other KZreadrs.

Trevor Andersen actually, what I’m talking about definitely ties into this whole demontised issue. The fact that Ethan is still bending the knee, and wanting to get monetized by KZread is what probably what has him there. If instead he would just continue to a reinvent himself, and become such an influence to the point where KZread cannot ignore him, like Logan (if that’s the case). Than stagnating and perpetually complaining wouldn’t be his shtick. Every now and then I find a clip of Ethan complaining about the monetary system.

The point is no one should get special favours from the platform, it's a bad precedent. Both Paul's were getting special treatment way before they were as influential as they are now. The game was rigged from the start.

If it were done by an outside source you could argue it was with the intent of demeaning or painting a different picture than what they were trying to say. In addition, this is completely ignoring the fact that Ethan and Hila directly spoke to Susan about many issues within the KZread community. Saying they are being unfairly treated or getting less brownie points than other users (like the Paul Brothers) is a complete lie. I dislike Jake Paul for his slimy exploits of the system and I personally used to love H3 but the fact of the matter is these two content creators are 100% on a level playing field.

Personally, I can't stand it when Ethan goes on his rants about not receiving the same level viewership compared to people like Logan Paul. The fact is Ethan and Hila's rise to KZread stardom was based solely on the content they delivered to their main channel and the moment they stopped uploading to their channel and transitioned completely to a podcast format is where viewership and popularity significantly diminished. H3H3 needs to understand that their podcast channel will not cater to some of their original fanbases (myself included) so honestly he does come across as bitter to a certain extent. Logan, on the other hand, continues to try and crack the KZread algorithm constantly and even though I am not a fan of him I can at least admit that the content he started to deliver these past couple months has actually been quite entertaining.

Also for people who started watching Ethan and Hila in 2013, their videos were no longer fun to watch a few months after they moved to L.A. They started saying "whatever opinion gives us the most views" and would sometimes cater to racists, sexists, etc. They took a hard turn towards becoming "political", when they used to point out social absurdities. I genuinely cannot enjoy their content anymore.

renoloverxoxo Not true. When a video has the yellow “demonetized” icon it means that advertisers have to opt in in order for the video to get ads. This ad revenue WILL still be partially split with creators. It is only when their is a RED fully demonetized icon where there will be NO ads run on videos. However, if there are ads on a video, the youtuber will be getting paid

They're in different stages of their life. Ethan and Hila just moved into a 9 million dollar mansion and have a kid now. I think the podcast is a way to be lazier and not as creative, but they're making enough money from their clothing brand that their youtube channel really only exists to keep the fanbase and popularity alive.

honestly here is something I do not understand: if someone says "oh a lot of my followers/subscribers are female, imma go do stuff that appeals more to them that is a little out of character for me" I don't get it. they follow/subscribe to you because they like your current content. do not change your content according to your current audience, your supporters like you for you and your current self and content. why change? they started supporting you because they like the content that you're putting out right now, don't change it for them if you obviously don't need to or truly want to.

I do think that a lot of people subscribe when they see at least some content they like, that feels unique. They may not like much else. So changing up your content slightly is good, depending on what your audience. For a child audience, they can like something that’s isn’t age appropriate of they will soon out grow, because it’s not quality content. So changing slightly for a child audience is good.

They admitted that they were struggling to keep consistent, quality content and debated quitting KZread, especially as they had more and more shit going on irl. From what I saw in the comments, most fans were compassionate and willing to accept that Ethan and Hila need to put less pressure on themselves and if the podcast makes them happy to continue working, so be it. At least they will still be around, and we can always revisit old videos.

Ethan was forced to changed up his style when the youtube algorithm changed. KZread isn't as edgy as it was in 2016, you don't really see people like FilthyFrank and iDubbbz shine anymore because when the algorithm changed, they all changed their content.

It’s incredible how some of these KZreadrs are kinda falling. iDubbbz, h3h3, and who’s next? It’s a shame Frank died but he’s really setting the example.

As much as Joji's music is clearly not directed at me he made the most insane, unlikely, perfect transition at the peak of his career into something insanely different and can now experience entirely new peaks. As for those others, it turns out channels focused around commentating on the content of others are hard to sustain. It's pretty ironic that one of idubbbz' content cops was on reaction channels- commentary has appeared to become just a step or two above that these days.

I personally love H3 and dislike Logan Paul, but I can’t agree more with the video. Ethan has gotten lazy and does seem to just expect to keep everyone interested with the same content all the time and would rather complain about the fact that people don’t enjoy it rather than cater to his audiences wants. Logan on the other hand is resilient and when one door is closed he sees another one open, and as much as I dislike him it is admirable and he will continue to find success if he continues to look for it.

M T The podcast is actually hilarious if you give it a chance and has some of the funniest moments in H3 history, there’s definitely boring moments and times when Ethan is a bit annoying but it grows on you and now I can’t miss a single episode because I love it so much. Also if it was such a “mistake” then why does pretty much every episode have multiple million views? It’s actually super successful for a podcast and besides joe rogan podcast it’s probably one of the biggest podcasts in the world

Exactly, I tried to watch this guy a couple of times and every time I had to quit after 5 minutes. Litterally all he does is mock the Paul brothers while he's a complete loser compared to both of them. He completely lost my respect when he made fun of their girlfriends (it was when Jake was still dating Tana Mongeau). How low can you get, especially since he himself is dating the braindead chick next to him that does nothing else than smile during the entire podcast and looks like she could use a couple of hours of sleep. Edit: Ok I just read my comment again and realised that maybe I was a little bit too mean. I don't want to delete it though because I only stated facts and this guy still rubs me the wrong way. But don't take this too personally if you're a fan of him. Everyone deserves an opinion, and I didn't watch him enough to know much about him. In the end of the day he might be a great guy, but judging from his hateful personality I doubt it.

Also, I agree with Tondo. He's rebranded himself, and makes way different content than what he used to. BUT children are everywhere nowadays, even on non-PG content. KSI is an example, he talks about his penis size occasionally, but yet has a large child audience. It's not up to the creators to make everything PG just because kids have no boundaries at home.

I never have the bell on (however, I find it weird how youtube notifies me of people that I do watch a lot and I always click the notification) but whenever a creator is complaining about their subs not seeing their content, it's because the video wasn't interesting enough, like, I saw it in my sub feed and I just didn't click, but no, that can't be it, youtube has to be the one doing this! When in reality, it's a ripple effect, if many didn't click, the video's not gonna be recommended to more people

@@TheEtherny I get that this is the case for many youtubers but I am telling you that sometimes youtube screws up and I don't get recommended videos when I have the bell on. There have also been examples when a series, lets say averaging around 12k views, will suddenly get a video with 1k views before their next getting 12k views again . You can't say that is normal.

It upsets me how much Ethan has to say about other people’s success, him and his wife are extremely lucky to be where they at compared to where they were years ago before KZread and for him to be so salty at others People success cause it’s not him really shows how self centered he’s become, he should be happy at where he’s at because at the end of the day he gets to sit all day and watch videos and have a fan base that cares for him, he should take a step back and let reality hit him for a minute

@@rebeccaspratling2865 I'm a big fan of the H3 Podcast and I've watched almost every episode, what I understand from it is that he's not annoyed at Logan Paul as a person or his popularity, but at how he's treated by KZread. He's frustrated by the fact that he's forced to monitor everything he says and remove certain things that would make good content for the listener, but that would result in being demonitized. Whilst, for a 10 minute vlog that may not be a huge issue, when you're making a 2 hour podcast only twice a week, losing all revenue from that is a big blow and is not one that most would be willing to take.

If it wasn't for the boxing with KSI, then Logan continue to do much worst than how he started his career. Eventually, I'm glad that he finally showed his redemption even though I'm not much of a fan of Logan Paul to begin with. Whoever brought up the Japanese forest controversy even to prove he's the worst person on the planet even after his redemption, then they surely missed out or they never moved on.

I'd have been perfectly happy with H3H3 if they'd, you know, have continued to utilize their other 2 channels. Ethan is his best when he's in an edited format where he can act like a nutcase, dude. Not where it's just him talking to Hila and going on and on about shit, sometimes uncomfortably. He tends to say things before really thinking about them. That's why editing is your friend, Ethan.

I love Ethan and Hela, i loved their content and their pholosophy on their original channel, but I 100% agree with what you said. The internet is moving too fast for Ethan to catch up, and I feel like a lot of controversies are waiting for him. I think they have to either retire, or Ethan has to go through a certain process of deep personal growth where he comes out of it with fresh ideas, more mature personality, and a relevant philosophy.

You missed the argument that Ethan was making. His point in the matter was even though Logan Paul's content can easily be seen as mature content. Despite this, KZread still props him up and allows kids to watch his videos because of his execution within the content. KZread themselves isnt a kids platform unless the creator marks themselves as "kids content creator" They can make whatever content they want and I dont see why ethan has to be mad about that when he isnt uploading the content people actually want to see, Logan saw what people wanted and is uploading that, Nothing stops him from doing that and Yt algorithm pushes what people want. H3 pod got booring as his old and grumpy behaviour started to reflect alot more rather the content itself.

Pavement there is a video that shows that in their ‘document’ that they use in their outlines of the video Ethan will literally script jokes that he wants to make during the podcast. He also doesn’t know how to interview AT ALL and will literally just follow the script on what questions he wants to ask beforehand. So much potential is lost with his podcast

Depending on the show and purpose of the interview, guests are sometimes asked if there are topics they want to stay away from. Another thing is to have quick wit. A show like the h3 podcast relies on friendly banter and a jovial tone to the conversation. ethan Is so dead set on following the outline of questions he has that it leaves no room, and it's because he cannot improvise or think on his feet. His bread and butter is edited content. Not live bullshit.

There's a difference Shane started caring about his content, like making documentaries and putting effort into his videos, you can tell Shane is a good human being. Whereas, Ethan reacts to shit on a boring ass podcast which he doesn't have to edit and then complains about his fanbase.

The thing is, H3H3 podcast’s are not that good. Ethan does zero to none research, he’s ignorant and he’s, as said on the video, salty. Ethan is funny; videos mocking Logan Paul and his “color blindness”, Vape nation etc generated interest towards his podcast, but it’s not good enough to stand on it’s own. Logan Paul, however, is actually creating good content. His podcasts are actually interesting. I mean he’s not the brightest in a bunch but to me the topics are interesting, they have good guests and they bring some insight about their life as influencers. Sure they mess up too from time to time, they’re bound to, but they are trying not to. I’m 20-something female, and if you were to tell me say 2 years ago that I would watch and actually enjoy Logan Paul’s podcast I would have laughed at you. I feel like Logan’s audience is shifting towards more mature; there are kids too, but also a more mature crowd.

Loserwaffles The fans defended him for what he did, there annoying, awful, cringey, think there above than anything, etc, etc. As for Logan I hated way before the video, I dislike him because he was annoying, unfunny, unentertaining, cringey, said lotta racist stuff on Twitter back in 2012 about Blacks. Also btw his fans send death threats to people who weren’t defending his actions. The fact that the SJW Owner of KZread Susan didn’t get him any consequences/punishments at all blows me away. Trying to be edgy/cool at Japan. Look before you think I’m a libtard i’m not .I hate feminists and social justice warriors. I’m not republican nor Democrat I’m in the middle. Also he made excuses after his second fight with KSI. Oh I was sneezing give me a fucking break smh 🤦‍♂️. Oh and a his beef with AB. AB has accomplished more than Logan has in his entire life. Logan isn’t in the pros while AB is.

@@airstepvt an 8 year old turning 11 is still very much a kid. Same with an 11 year old turning 14. It's delusional to think that his adult viewers makes up any considerable fraction of his audience.

This video comes as a major realisation to me: Andrei has got his system completely figured out and will always have a moderately successful viewing if he keeps on doing what he’s doing: speak for the public in a humorous manner. He’s literally catching up to everything that’s happening, thus always keeping himself in the spotlight, even if indirectly. All I can say is, bravo man, keep it up and we love you.

I can respect the effort of trying something new and innovate on established formula. Do I like Logan? no, not even close. Ethan comes off as lazy and resistant to change. He wants success in a format that doesn't work as well as other formats and he throws fits about it when things don't go his way with said unsuccessful format. Like, what did you expect? If you don't adapt to change you'll get left behind, no shit sherlock. A Podcast is literally the laziest and easiest form of a video format, it's not as edited as a normal video and it's not as interactive as a stream. H3h3's podcast is literally just Ethan saying shit, while his wife just echoes his sentiments. It's not even a debate or clashing of viewpoints and perspectives, it's basically an echo chamber.
