Ima be honest with you guys, this whole beauty community drama confuses me😐. The only thing I know about is that James was trashed last year by Tati. Idk how things escalated and how a series has to do with it and how legal action is getting into the picture or even why Shane and Jeffrey even matter (besides the fact that Shane said perverted things). Like wtf happened that I missed?? I’m literally on the internet ALL OF QUARANTINE.😭💀

I feel as if in this situation, James shouldn’t be mentioned anymore. In terms of it being legally addressed yes of he should.However, “beauty community drama” wise his name shouldn’t even have to be said . At the time (last year) these were 30 year old ADULTS trying to ruin a 19 year old for their own personal gain. He was seriously victimized and I can’t believe that we all fell for it, going against him at the time. He himself even said that he doesn’t want to be involved with this new situation with Shane, Jeffree, and Tati. At the time when he had to deal with everything thrown at him , could he have done some things differently?¿ Yes. He definitely could have. But I personally believe that he did nothing wrong overall in this situation that has surfaced. He had to deal with the drama, backlash, and b.s last year. Keep it that way.

@Jessica I agree. I don’t think James has actually tried to ‘pull the rug out from beneath other millionaires’. He responded to Tatis video with receipts because he was literally being accused of crimes and had proof that the allegations weren’t true. I don’t think he’s ever been interested in this craziness but he was dragged into it. Now he’d just prefer to keep himself out of it and I respect that.

I feel ya, he was very good at covering up his past and telling the narrative he wanted to but if you would like some less problematic creators, heres a few: the try guys, markiplier, jacksepticeye, safiya nygaard. all are aware of their presence on the internet and either use it for good, or not for large monetary gain :)

There's literally recorded material where he cuddles with kids and asks in a comdedy voice "Who's a little potential Rape Victime? Who's a good little one?" This is not normal. I am also doing this "Who's a good little kid? Who?" with my own children and even my niece, but no, what this man does, all his Rape Jokes in front and even directed towards little children is not normal at all.

There’s a lot of overlap. Past actions hardly matter as much as you think they do. They aren’t a reflection of who you are they are what you were. Thats the point of past actions. 6 years is a lot of time to change, and people do change. If you can’t grasp that people can change you’re lost. also attempting to end somebody’s career for past actions or current actions is cancel culture regardless if they are guilty or not. It’s hate bandwagon about something people probably wouldnt bat an eye at if nobody was making up an outrage. The difference is past actions again are not a reflection of who you are. In holding shane accountable you’re saying his career should be ended? That IS cancel culture

And that is implying that an actual crime happened. All Shane Dawnson did was make inappropriate jokes as a dumb teen/young adult about any topic that was percieved as overly shocking, pedophilia being one of them. That's not a crime, it's just a reason to dislike him and the kind of humor he had at the time.

People are willing to forgive (but not forget) and accept that a person has changed ONLY if that change is apparent, if an effort is shown. People aren't just turning on Shane because he made one or two offensive jokes, his behavior has been consistently bad, up to the point we are at now. So does he deserve hell? Probably not, but someone should serve him a slice of humble pie the size of the empire state building.

He lied several times in his career about his achievements, he had multiple scandals about offensive/racist tweets and somehow nobody noticed how he blatantly lied to his millions of subscribers how sugar bear vitamins helped his mental health to get coachella tickets. Onision made money off of his deliberately dumb and controversial actions, Dramaalert covers these stories and makes money, people conspire each other to get the upper hand (like in this case) so overall, I just find that unrealistic.

I was one of those people who found Shane Dawson’s channel through his conspiracy videos and docuseries. I watched a handful of his videos after because I was excited for his engagement and I honestly liked his fiancé and his sister in law and friends more than him. I even wanted to read his books. Luckily I only checked one out at the library but there were some stuff in that book that were kind of red flags. I am so glad in never bought any of his merchandise. I initially was torn about the conspiracy pallet because at that time I still liked him okay, but I refused to support Jeffree Star because of what I knew about his past sexual assault (something I don’t understand why so many people give him a free pass for?) I started to like Shane more and more the more time he was hanging out with Jeffree Star... After hearing what I have about Shane, it started to make a lot more sense why he was suddenly best friends with Jeffree, I am so thankful I never gave him any money, only my time.

This was a really good video! You actually brought new ideas to this story. I hadn't thought of the legal aspects!
