Hi I have a question why does my Guinea pig shed hair so much like I could go and pet her a a big hair ball would come. I did research but found nothing and she isn’t a baby no more she is about 1 1/2 years old. I also try to brush her daily but nothing works. Also love you’re video’s they make my day you are also so underrated and are my top favorite piggy accounts💕

that's an excellent question. Guinea pigs do shed normally at the beginning and the end of winter. If your guinea pig shed a lot it could be many factors. Sometimes a stressful situation can be the cause. it could also be related to a lack of vitamin c and nutrients because they cannot eat properly. it could also be a problem with skin infections or parasites. Especially if you see a patch of skin without fur. Worst case it could be something inside like when Pumpkin had ovarian cyst. Our guinea pig Sarah the with one will shed more than usual before winter when the temperature goes down outside and she becomes very white like the snow. When spring comes back her fur will change for something more creamy like shade a wheat. If it's the first time and you're worried because something changes with your guinea pig it's recommended to get an appointment with your vet.

Our guinea pigs are called: Sarah, Noodle, Raven, Pumpkin, Squash, and Brownie. We are working on a cage tour video with a presentation of our production. Thanks for following us 🤗🥰🥰

One of my guinea pigs always tries to bite me when I'm cutting her nails I have to a wear a thick hoodie to avoid her biting my skin she just bites my hoodie sleeves, is this a bad sign? Other than that she's always friendly and tame in her cage it's just when I get to clipping her nails that she gets really stressed

This is normal for the guinea pigs when we try to cut their nails. Some will do it without problems other will always be mad. Using a towel or a shirt to restrain them is sometimes the best way to avoid hurting them or being injured. Don't forget to be patient and you don't have to do all their paws at once. If you need to, do one and take a brake. And don't forget to give them a little treat like a piece of their favorite veggies after.
