*#6 The pupillary distance is wrong.* My whole life glasses gave me headaches and eye muscle aches on the distal sides. I felt like I was going slightly cross eyed after a few hours wearing eyeglass. I never had that problem with contact lenses Years later, when I was able to specify my own PD via ordering glasses online, the issue went away completely. Providers were always writing a smaller PD than is comfortable for me. Not a single one listened when I said "That's too narrow, and my PD is different on each side." So, I can't purchase glasses in person anymore because providers always insist their measurements are correct. I know what works for me. *#7 The lenses themselves are too big.* I get nauseated and distracted seeing the object shape distortion in the periphery of larger lenses. I'd rather have small lenses and slightly blurry peripheral vision than the constant visual warping. People say you'll learn to ignore the warping. I never did.

@@inouske2975 I ordered glasses from Zenni (but any retailer will do who lets you enter your own *pupillary distance* or PD). In the appropriate spot on the form, I selected my own pupillary distance (separate measurements for my right and left eyes because they are 1 mm off from each other). I measured my own pupillary distances in the mirror, and checked them against the values my brother got when he measured it for me. Both times we used a cheap PD ruler that sits in the bridge of your nose. The key for me was to be looking at something 30 feet away, so my pupils were spaced more typically for me, not hyper focusing on a spot 6 feet away (the way it's typically measured). Most opticians measure my total PD at 69 or 70. But my self measurement is 37 and 36 for a total PD of 73. That 3 or 4 mm difference meant frequent eye pain vs no eye pain and strain, for me.

They are over prescribed by -1 or -2 Diopters. This is why I make my own refraction measurements. Now back to 20/20. Refraction is +0.5 Diopters, both eyes. You should help the person make his own measurements, to avoid your measurement errors.

I've had migraines since I was a little kid. Thankfully, as an adult they're infrequent because I have much better control of my migraine triggers and exposures. My glasses and contacts used to cause me migraines after just 3 or 4 hours of wear when the prescription was too strong. With the right power prescription they don't at all. There is no adjustment period and no pain from all day wear when my glasses are just right -- the right amount of correction, the right pupillary distance, a small lens, being ultra lightweight, and zero color tint or "self darkening" lenses.

Yeah I really should make some more videos on that topic. I have been collecting and reading books on various "reversing myopia" theories. The hard part is the videos usually just call out a lot of hate because I break people hearts that there just isn't any good evidence that the methods out there work. A person can make claims all day about the world being flat or that a presidential election was rigged (for example), but without scientific proof...it's just a theory, or at the very least an idea or claim. There is one program, technically, that has proof, but that program is more about changing your mental perception of vision and eyesight and less about changing the refractive power.

Myopia means one's eyeball is physically elongated. It's an anatomical feature, a given. It cannot be "modified" or "remodeled" into a different form. So, one cannot reverse myopia with exercises. However, exercises that relieve stress and strain and lessen tension may be beneficial for the eyes, as well as adequate diet and healthy lifestyle. Myopia is not the end of the world, and glasses are fun. Actual eye disease like glaucoma is worse, and probability of developing it can certainly be prevented by lifestyle and diet.

It takes some time getting used to astigmatism glasses, becauses the vision becomes unstable when you rotate the glasses. Your eyes hurt, because you are not used to seeing that clearly. Just wear them regularly and it will improve.

It often takes about 2 weeks to adapt to new glasses. if the doubling persists, you can always ask your doctor to double check the prescription or perhaps there is another reason for it. In high levels of astigmatism or if someone has an odd angle of astigmatism, it may be difficult to 100% get rid of the ghosting images with glasses alone, contact lenses such as RGP or scleral lenses may be a better option as those lenses can mask the astigmatism.

Why cant u reuse metal frames. I have a cool Tony stark shades and want the glasses design to my main glasses. Which means I want it to be my transition tested lenses. But someone say because it's metal. It can't be used..
