WHY GERMANY IS SO GOOD IN LOGISTICS: Landing, unloading, loading - Cargo hub Leipzig | Documentary
Ғылым және технология
Leipzig/Halle Airport went into operation back in 1927, and 81 years later DHL opened a hub here. With 1.4 million tons of air freight in 2020, Leipzig/Halle Airport is Germany's second-largest cargo airport. At the DHL hub, around 6,000 employees ensure that 150,000 shipments reach their destinations every hour. This report takes a look behind the scenes of the logistics hub, accompanies employees of Antonow Airlines and shows customs officers during checks.

I landed there multiple times deploying overseas. The staff and facilities were great.
We forget the small army of dedicated and passionate team behind all our deliveries that make it to our door step...bravo to them...✌️💯

Dresden the most beautiful city in Germany!😍😍😍😍
I lived close to this airport the last 16 years... There are many different logistics companies, the biggest is DHL Europe. Then there's Antonov Airlines (moved from Kiev), Amazon Air, Lufthansa Cargo and some others like Air Bridge Cargo (a russian company that's banned from Leipzig since the war in Ukraine had been started...)
I worked for DHL Express for many years and they have a impressive and very strict system. A DHL 24 hour WPX pack can be scanned in 5 different countries and scanned 20 times during that time, and you will still get the pack delivered to your door next day.

@@mbondodaniel4247 DHL is the only global logistics company on earth. They have a reputation to take care of, so they are demanding and strict. In fact they lose money on some deliveries too just to please everyone. Also. They are very strict with where a package is at all times, and is why one pack can have like 20 scans in 24 hours. DHL drivers have a great salary btw.

As others have commented on this video of the unfortunate demise of the AN 225 which I have been fortunate to be next to on the ramp many times and spoken with the crew but also of the casualty of all the AirBridgeCargo jets. AirBridge might have been Russian but they had one of the most modern freight fleets in existence

The sector of aircraft has grown importantly last decades. The reason behind this growth are the creativity and the technology. This two fields are so important.
I work in international logistics for a company in France and I cannot stress how efficient DHL is in both cargo and small pack shipments. They are the gold standard in getting almost anything from incredible distances in the shortest amount of time. Their tracking system is exhaustive and very useful for anyone in my field. While they don't have as large of a footprint in the US and UPS and FedEx, they are my go-to when it comes to closing important business deals.

It is a good documentary about Air freight Logistics. We know that logistics by air has become an almost essential part of foreign trade, both because of the high price of some goods and because of the quickness in delivery to clients. In the last years, the boom of e-commerce has increased the demand for air freight because consumers have become very exigent about delivery in time and safety and satisfying them has become a factor for companies' competitiveness. DHL is one of the leader in the logistics industry specializing in international air freight for products such as machine, cars and others.

The title of this video is a little ironic as the German airports have been the main reason of our delays in 2022 summer. Now I can’t speak for Leipzig as I’ve never flown there but man Munich and Frankfurt were both nightmares. Even a 60 ton load that should be a quick turnaround would become a surprise minimum rest layover lol. That’s the price to pay when you fire half of your handling personnel during covid and fail to replace them when business starts to boom again.
Actuallyquite interesting indeed although the music is a bit too dramatic. And it‘s /GROUND floor/, /GRAVEL runway/ etc. not /ground FLOOR/ or /gravel RUNWAY/because the floor is distinguished by its location, the runway by wat it is made off 1st part of a compound noun distinguishes the 2nd rom other kinds!

You show how logistics is good in (Leipzig) Germany, but never answer the question ‘why.’ I lived in Germany for five years and learned much about the culture. Germans are regimented, taught to value individual commitment and responsibility (very unlike Americans). This makes Germans ideal workers. I think this in part at least answers the question ‘why.’

Americans who are of german, scandanavian , British origin are still like that. But other americans , not so much. American is not a homogenous group and with all the diversity etc, will not retain the cultural capital that made them successful in the past. We are seeing the demographic change affect the American culture in real life. Now when I travel to the US, it's just an extension of latin america. Soon with spanish overtaking english it will be a Mexico or Colombia in 10 years time. I hope the same doesn't happen to Germany .

Many British contractors in various departments doing the real day to day work with several other europeans . The Germans do work as cleaners ,security guards ,canteen staff and a few managers .
