A good medic understands survivability and doesn't do stupid things like popping Uber too early or following a single player into a train wreck when they could stick with the team and focus on keeping the average team health up, or trying to use a heavy as a push class. A good medic actually has some pretty good survivability. A bad medic shoves their medigun up a heavy's ass for the whole game.

@Dispengineer Just keep at it. There's a lot to take into account, but the best advice I think I've ever gotten is 1. Don't attach yourself to a heavy. Spread healing to everyone. Your big russian boy can survive a few hits while you heal up other players from near death that can't. 2. Don't stack with other medics. It doesn't increase healing and just reduces the time both of you have to get uber, though definitely heal the medic. 3. Your beam is a LOT longer than you think. You don't have to be directly in the line of fire to heal someone. Stay back in safety and keep moving around. Your health is so much more important than theirs. Medic is the most important role. A good medic can carry a team, whether they realize it or not. And finally 4. It's better to pop early than late. Don't feel bad about popping uber to save yourself. You'll still be more effective alive with no uber than no uber and waiting for respawn.

colonel24567 Double Case Bullets! Their used for incase you miss with the first shot, you still have a back up primer and charge to take a second shot! But of course you need to retrieve the round, reload, return to your firing position, and take aim again. By then your target will most likely have moved or killed you so you don't see them all that much.
