Why East Africa Is The Fastest Growing Region In Africa
Three of the top 5 fastest growing economies in Africa are located in East Africa; Rwanda with 8.7 per cent growth, Ethiopia with 7.4 percent, and Tanzania 6.8 percent growth. In comparison, economic growth in the entire continent was recorded at 3.4 percent, with East Africa’s average growth estimated at 5 percent in the same period. Oh did I mention that the region is also home to three of the top 10 fastest growing economies in the world?
Keep in mind that that East Africa does not host the larger share of Africa’s wealth. Of the big five economies in Africa; Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa, none is based in the east. East Africa contributes less than 20% to Africa’s overall GDP. What are countries in East Africa doing differently from other regions that seem to have more potential?
We know that East Africa is famous for some of the most beautiful wildlife in the world, and that the area is also home to Africa’s tallest mountain. But this doesn’t answer the question of why this region is dominating. Well, today we find out why East Africa has the fastest growing economy in Africa. If you are new here, you are welcome. I have no doubt that East Africa will take away the likes of Nigeria from the scene; to me, it's a matter of "when", not "if". Unless the other African countries foster the kind of unity East Africa has only a fool will think that we will compete with Nigeria or South Africa. ... e.g. EAC now has: 1. A road network that connects the entire region (except for Somalia). 2. An East African e-passport 3. Common Kiswahili language. in Kenya's 2010 constitution, it was recognized as a national language 4. An East Africa Anthem duped "jumuiya" and even the EAC flag our kids raise in schools 5. EAC Games and other art/music competitions 6. Some leniency to live and work anywhere. e.g. I know a lot of Tanzanians and Ugandans living in Mombasa. And, to their kids, it all they can call "home" . . Aaaand now, DRC might join the brotherhood. If that happens; who will ever compete with such a block? And even if it doesn't happen, which other region has dared to do a fraction of what EAC has achieved? ...none that I know of. EAC will be Africa's USA 20 years from now.

Iam afraid your presentation is out of date. Tanzania is not continuing with the Bagamoyo project. Big projects in Tanzania are Julius Nyerere hydropower project and SGR project along central line

Good job East Africa
This is a good thing it will encourage West and Southern African leaders to also do their best for the better
I am planning to visit Nairobi & Mombasa Kenya🇰🇪 and Dar Es Salaam & Zanzibar Tanzania🇹🇿
The african economic liberation is in track. You should update your information. In Tanzania minerals, and tourism are leading. Gas and oil in Uganda and Tanzania ....
South African here. We're incredibly blessed to have so much development here, but a lot of it is wasted. People have a strong sense of entitlement: "the government must do it for me. Where's my grant? where's my house? where's my job?". We do suffer a LOT from corruption and extreme inequality, but we need to look to the east [of Africa] and get a move on...
Let's go Africa #UniteAfrica
Where is Uganda talked abt in the video??
I agree with you, EAC is very strong and stable in its agreement
Way to go Rwanda 🇷🇼 ✊🏿❤️
Question how is south sudan rising? Just asking
What is your take on Uganda 's economic growth and development in E. Africa.
There was a proposal to have EAC constitution. It was supposed to be set off by Museveni next month. I don't know what has become of it; by the way...

East Africa is the one to watch.

Hello from Portugal 🇵🇹🇵🇹
We have are six East African which each depends on one another. Kenya is the strongest economic bone of East African, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi south sudan each has it contributions towards the development of East Africa
I believe that even if s sudan economy is mostly dependent on oil,we are soon going to dominate agriculture because we now have peace in our country,
Onward to the East African Federation. Mungu aijalie Jumuia ya Afrika Mashariki.
one fundamental reason is the economic roaring is the stable politics environment and clever leaders, especially the leader of Rwanda, who is able to be compared with the father of Singapore. blesses from China

There is a very good reason why Winston Churchill called Uganda the pearl of Africa. Skipping it leaves a big gap in the story
