This literally happened to me yesterday. On my way back from work, I took a detour to 7-11 to get some pizza. Ended up turning down these superlative orange chicken tenders for the pizza. Missed my bus by 2 seconds to hook up with this pizza. So I start my hour walk home in the middle of a blizzard, hating life a little, but I'm chilling with cheesy slices, so I'm all right. Then I put the box under my arm, and the pizza presses the eject button on our entire relationship, drops out of the box without me noticing, icing me out worse than the blizzard. For hours after, all I could think was I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THAT CHICKEN OUT AND SMASHED. Almost hit up my Skittles side-chick when I got back home, didn't even want to bake a Skittles cake like I planned, just dirty-smash the whole bag right there on the kitchen counter. Relationships, bro.

It's funny that I'm finding this video after realizing this myself recently. I spent the last couple years convinced that I would probably die alone because I've been rejected in every attempt I made and hadn't had any luck on dating apps and just thought that My personality and appearance wasn't right for people to fall in love with me. Then someone did fall in love with every part of me wholeheartedly. And I realized that I expected to have to change myself drastically in order to get someone to love me, but I didn't have to do that, and then retrospect if I had tried to do that that would have been bad.

I'm not really on board with this. Looking for love isn't about being a key looking for a lock. It's about finding someone with common goals and is willing to throw in their lot with yours. What I mostly object to is any suggestion that "real love" is easy or will feel natural. It isn't, and it might not. Like all worthwhile endeavors, it is horribly difficult and requires enormous and ongoing commitment.

Not get to buy whatever I wanted without a Huge Fight 3. Not get to go anywhere and do anything Whenever I wanted to ...and have to wait on her so we can be fashionably late 4. Have a Lot Honey-Dos, almost all that would Have to be done right now ! Is that Really selfish ? I don't have to find out ! I always get Rejected. It's the new cop-out, "I have a boyfriend".
