Me too, when they put in the exo movement abilities your range and freedom of movement went from 2d to 3d, and it made for a really interesting take on close quarters combat...honestly, I play all of the call of duty games to experience different time periods and get to know the characters and guns...

To answer the question, COD is basically turning into a crappier version of Halo, Halo is turning into a futuristic Battlefield, and Battlefield is turning into a much better COD.

I don't think it's the futuristic theme. I think that when it becomes so futuristic that there's a movement system is when people have a problem. Ghosts and Black Ops 2 were futuristic but only with a skin.

Battlefield 1 happened. That's why there's so much hate for COD

Once upon a time, Call of Duty was a legit, epic, ww2 shooter. There was a time where snipers camped and didn't run around quick scoping. There was a time where submachine gunners ran around and didn't camp in corners. There was a time where thermal scopes didn't exist and smokes actually did someting. There was a time where tanks roamed the battlefield and dominated over everyone. There was a time where 2-3 bullets actually killed you instead of 10-12. There was a time where shotguns weren't OP. There was a time where 12 year olds didn't sleep with your mom. There was a time where squeakers didn't dominate over people. There was a time where trolls didn't anger over-sensitive people. All in a place called Call of Duty: World at War

Spaffy Knobs personally I hate the direction Halo is going in. It feels far less unique and interesting now, but that's my opinion. That said, the sales of Halo 5 might indicate that my opinion is not uncommon.

The problem is: cod made games in the mid 90s, modern day, and the future. They've run out of time era's to base their game in since they seem to not want to make the settings pre-WWII which really hurts their decision making.

Personally, I dislike CoD because of how simple and fast-paced it is. I prefer games where there are different playstyles, in CoD it is all run-and-gun action all the time.

I think another reason of why the cod got so much hate was because of the bf1 trailer. Battlefield 1 has brought out brand new game mechanics, a brand new theme, not just the futuristic stuff again.

This video should be renamed "why does everyone who has a brain hate Call of Duty Infinite Warfare"

I think what made Black Ops 2 the best future warfare game in the series was that it wasn't too far into the future. You had some futuristic technology but it still played like the previous games. No super jumps, sliding across the ground, and wall running. They need to take a break from the future and go back to their routes. A World War 2, Cold War, and Modern War game? Stuff that we haven't seen in a while. Dice listened to the fans and decided to give us a World War 1 game seeing that there hasn't been many games done in that area. I just feel the COD companies wouldn't go back to those era's simply because they'd be limited on kill streaks in the multiplayer.

This Infinite Warfare game makes sense. It takes COD into space for the first time (ignoring the space station mission from Ghosts) with actual, full-on space battles. This is why there had to be another "futuristic" COD, because full-on space battles in COD haven't been done yet. It's pretty much the final frontier before going back to other settings. Infinite Warfare should be the last futuristic COD in the series for a while. I honestly thought the trailer looked great and I'm looking forward to playing the campaign.

Long ago the call of duty community lived in harmony then everything changed when infinite warfare. Only battlefield can bring balance to the fps genre

"The COD series has lost a lot of fans through out the last 5 years" True, I'm one of them unfortunately. I played every single COD from MW to MW3 after that I think it started going down, but I really hope the developers will make a great comeback in the next COD.

I think Black Ops II works incredibly well though, because not only does it take place not *that* far into the future, but half of it also took place during the 1980's as well.

You know Gamestops all across America will be flooded with used copies of Infinite Warfare the day after release. Meanwhile COD 4 servers will be jam packed lol

Honestly, in my opinion, i think COD died straight after black ops 2.

Its not that I hate the trailer... I hate where CoD has gone.

Instead of this futuristic BS,they could've made a new COD Modern Warfare 4 game (set between 2017-2019) .Start it from scratch,make a whole new antagonist. Make him/her badder,meaner and crazier than Makarov. Also,they should bring back Sandman,Ramirez and Yuri!

Just my two cents: When the original Modern Warfare came out, there weren't a lot of decent FPS games in a modern setting. There were a few modern-era multiplayer arena games (a la Counterstrike), but no serious contenders for single-player FPS games. Everything was either in a Sci-Fi or WWII setting, and I do mean everything. I remember playing a game called "Close Combat: First to Fight," literally just because it was in a modern setting. It was also terrible. When it came out that Call of Duty was making a game set in modern times, the gaming community went nuts.

Soooo what i'm getting here is that people want them to go back to the past, but innovate gameplay? How? These games have been on the same trend for a decade. They've done world wars, they've done iraq, vietnam, secret ops type shit, future shit, future secret ops type shit. Literally everything. Call of Duty cannot innovate because the nature of the game is always going to be the same formula. Shoot, throw a grenade, reload, repeat. Now unless they start adding in fake or ridiculous technologies or unbalanced perks and guns there's really no way to go back in the timeline and create an experience that rivals MW2. Same with assassin's creed and all these other annual games.
