In this video:
Testosterone is a steroid hormone from a group called androgen. Androgen affects many characteristics in our bodies, like the development of the male sex organs, the deepening of the voice during puberty, muscle and bone strength, and hair growth. Interestingly, the same circulating androgen, like testosterone, can increase hair growth in one area of our bodies and inhibit it in others. Thought to be gene dependent, these differences affect our appearance in several ways. Before we tackle why, it’s important to understand how testosterone is produced and how hair grows.

Today I found out this is bullshit to muxh testrostrone increase sperm count when you stop taking testrostrone your body doesn't produce any testrostrone so that's how sperm count decreases and you get the side effects after stop ing on testrostrone take hcg to reduce most of the side effects 10 percente of the testrostrone needs to be converted to dht dht produces hair nit testrostrone testrostrone increase dht dht is also resposible for muscle growth that's a fact. Dht is more powerfull than testrostrone

I'm British and worked with another British guy over a decade ago who would sometimes bring up talk about his ingrown hair "follicule" medical problem. I wanted to correct him, it's "follicle" not "follicule" damn it!. But he described the agony of this reverse ingrowing "follicule" in his anal sphincter and the operations he had to deal with it. I deigned him as the medical expert in these matters and chose not to correct him for my own ignorance. I've never thought about it since until Simon started pronouncing it the same way...

I'm on steroids and testosterone is one of the compounds that I take. Do yourself a favor and if you're always tired and can't force yourself to get things done like you used to, get a fuckin blood test done to measure your total and free testosterone. I've trained in the gym for 2 decades and found myself like this and I am a very muscular guy and never thought I'd have to low test. Well I was so low that the lowest end of the scale that determined what's low wasn't low enough to cover my number! That's awful! I'm on test now and some other things now that I've had to take the plunge and it's the best thing I ever did for myself. It's hard to wrap your mind around the fact that your entire mood and well being is tied directly to hormones. I feel great and I'm even more muscular than before. My general mood is giving a fuck about life now lol. Anyways I hope this helps someone...

I’ve used test along with a few other peds. I was never hairy on the chest etc and now I’m not exactly 🦍 like but I certainly have a lot of it. I actually can grow a full beard all the wAy from my sideburns down when before I didn’t have the hair growth in certain places to do so. Bad acne at first but got that under control fairly quickly. Mind you the doses I took, while having much higher test then any normal person, I was still taking not even half of what a actual pro bodybuilder would etc It can be mentally addictive though when you throw on 30 pounds in two months and add another hundred pounds to your bench press 😎 Never had any erectile issues and only had positive effects as long as you consider constantly being able to bang someone twenty four seven pretty much. Anyway, there are always risks so I’m not promoting or bashing it. Just giving my first hand exp with the substance. Have a good day 🤗

Thats a good question. Actually in puberty there is a condition called gynocamastia where males grow breasts due to a temporary estrogen increase. It isn't a harmful condition and it's relatively common; the breasts usually vanish totally in 1 or 2 years. It's got nothing to do with weight; it's just hormones doing something funky.

For the many people complaining about ‘follicule’: most or all you regularly ‘mispronounce’ things also, according to English speakers of English language. Modern English is highly influenced by French, and ‘follicule’ is part of that lineage. Maybe not all Brits say it that way but it isn’t just an aberration of pronunciation. If you want to tell somebody their pronunciation is ‘incorrect’ about something, try knowing what you’re talking about first because YOU might be wrong, especially if you’re an American trying to tell an English person how to speak English. And btw, ‘aluminium’ is spelled the way Brits say it, and the American version isn’t the ‘correct’ version, just different.

I was hoping to hear about how, why, etc women have higher testosterone levels than other women and how it affects them. Even if it was just mentioned in the bonus facts. I fear my levels are high :(

Simon, when you said "we" rather than "men" while talking about testosterone, I was excited to hear about how testosterone affects all humans - which doesn't usually get discussed, because most people assume (incorrectly) that testosterone occurs only in men. And then we got to the bit where "the boy becomes the man" and I realised that rather than using "we" and "people" actually meant "men". So we got the usual spiel about hair loss (in men) and transplantation (in men) and an interesting aside on prostate cancer. But we all missed out on a really neat learning opportunity.

I don't exactly understand all of this about testosterone but I'm somewhat hairy I have a hairy chest, back, shoulders and facial hair but until a little over a year ago I didn't notice that I had quite a bit of back hair but I wasn't very pleased with it but it grew on me no pun intended and I git used to it and I noticed that it's a pattern called angel wings and I'm very happy and satisfied with it I don't by any means consider myself a hairy caveman, neanderthal, Sasquatch or wolverine or something else I'm just an average man who is somewhat hairy but I'm not ashamed of it men being hairy should be very proud of it I don't go out without a shirt or t-shirt on especially during the summer but I'm sure that I'm not the only man who feels like this we're proud of being hairy especially with having hair on our chest back hair not so but I'm sure that there a lot of us men who are uncomfortable and self-conscious about being hairy especially in public except where you go to outings or the beach or lake it water park or somewhere else where were around other manly men and show off our furry pelts s d were comfortable knowing were within our own element and being around other who are hairy that's what matters the most and the ladies love a hairy man except maybe for back hair but it really stand out and is very good for our manhood and manliness and masculinity and I'm proud of my hairyness and manliness!

*When a 21 year old male has Testosterone levels of 900 (I did) or more why do they have great heads of hair? Why can 21 year old men pee 7 feet on demand with Testosterone levels of 900? It's not effecting their prostate either! There is a LOT more going on than just high Testosterone levels. Can anyone tell me the WHOLE hormone story of what is going on in a younger males blood? There MUST be a reason these SOARING high testosterone levels make hair grow fast and shrink the prostate in the younger male population. In fact my hair fell out and my prostate grew by 60% in the 5 year period from ages 31 to 36 EXACTLY when my Testosterone levels dropped by 70%. I went to the Dr. ever year and have my full hormone history in writing from ages 21 to 58 - What am I missing here??? It seems to me young men should not have any hair and their prostates should be ready to explode so it can't be JUST the Testosterone since those levels PEAK from 18 to 28 years of age. What and I missing?*

You didn't mention Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. A recessive gene that expresses to varying degrees - causing the body to ignore Androgen and therefore not develop into sexual adutlhood of either variety. It generally expresses in males, who are frequently raised as females because they lack the obvious genitalia of males at birth... At some point the testes (undescended) are surgically removed, hormones prescribed at the appropriate time and the faux girls are told they had a rare ovarian cancer and will be unable to bear children... Others are frank hermaphrodites. Imagine being born into a lifetime like that!
