Why Does My Shoulder Snap and Pop?

Shoulder snapping and popping is very common. It is exceptionally common in otherwise completely normal shoulders. There are many structures in the shoulder that can cause snapping and popping and most of you do not have pain. Snapping, popping, and clicking can also occur after shoulder injuries too. How do you know whether your clicking or popping is potentially a problem? In this video we will dive deeper into the subject of why our shoulders snap, pop and click.
This post goes into more detail on the subject on our site.

I dont get it. My shoulder popping from bodybuilding originally came with pain in the shoulder and I had an MRI. The ortho suspected bicep tendonisis considering id feel cramping in my inner bicep and down the arm sometimes with vigorous activities. The MRI came back showing a partial full thickness tear in my superspanitus, but didnt mention see anything else. I opted to get stem cell therapy and my pain has gone completely away. But the popping and what feels like catching of the shoulder is still there at times or with certain movements. Im just wondering if this too will go away with time.

I had Rotator Cuff Shoulder surgery in January 2020 to repair 3 tears in my Suprasponatus ligament and bicep muscle retraction. I developed Adhesive Capsulitis when my Physiotherapy Clinic was closed to from mid February 2020 to mid June 2020. My shoulder was so stiff that any motion in the shoulder was painful, and affected other parts of my body like back and collar areas when actively moving my arm. I have been going to Physiotherapy for a year 1-3 times a week. PT has helped improve ROM, strength and pain management. It’s been a year and I’m about 80-85% in ROM, strength and pain management. I have developed a clicking when I rotate or raise & lower my arm during exercises. Sometimes there is a little pain sometimes there isn’t. Is there something I should be concerned about? Is it possible I tore another ligament?

This one time i was jumping on the trampoline and bounced off but both my arms were on the on the trampoline but my body was under and ever since that day if i put my arm in a 90 degree angle and move it, there is a joint,? that pops out of place, this only happens in my right arm, if i put my arm above my head for to long it hurts a lot as well, or if i go on my knees and put my head to the floor, and put my arms above my head on the floor and pull back i can’t do that for a few seconds it hurts to bad idk what to fix it.

THat would be called a biceps tenotomy (a release of the biceps). In folks who need full strength and prefer a normal appearance to the biceps, then a biceps tenodesis would be the procedure of choice. Make sure you explore all alternative with your surgeon. Make sure they have a clear understanding of your objective.

when I sit down and just move my shoulder up and back theres a type of rubbing sensation, or when I lift my left arm forward and up it pop. I'm trying to go back to active duty and afraid of having MRI negative, I feel no pain but, I am hesitant to lift my left are certain point because popping noise which feels like could be bicep tendon that goes to the shoulder. gonna lay off the gym for awhile and see if anything gets better. my right should is in better shape but, it will pop little as well less frequently; I'm 30 years old; after the popping lifting it up, I still got full range of motion .

I’ve had mine pop out since I was 14 and since then it’s happened about 30+ times I heard it’s harder for that muscle to heal cause of the constricted blood flow in the muscle but if it is Torn you need the operation Cause if not your bones will rub together and cause arthritis or just cause pain and you to be uncomfortable. Was doing push-ups a few years ago and my shoulder popped and it hurt like someone was sticking me with a hot knife where my arm connects to my shoulder, had an ex Ray didn't find anything, I told them I need an MRI, it's been almost 2 years it's still aches pops and crunches, been trying to do push-ups and trying to fight through the pain and popping, probably not a smart thing to do, my whole left side has gotten smaller do to not moving my arm as much, I need to see a Dr!!! Also I can't hardly lift my arms straight out and up like combing my hair, Thanks for the video!!!!

Brian Carey for me. It effects certain muscles and causes imbalance. Say I’m doing bench press, my shoulder won’t allow me to get in the right position to execute the exercise right. Cause it to use more of my bicep in the left rather then using my chest. So now my bicep on my left is bigger than right. It’s more toned and it sucks cause my shoulder muscles aren’t as big as my right.
