Dogs and cats often eat grass either suddenly and frantically or habitually over the long term. This is not normal. This is usually a symptom of a severely upset stomach most commonly because they ate something bad or it may be because of long term irritable bowel syndrome with "heartburn". They can and should be helped and it is easy to do so
