He in fact did@@gummy5862 . He talked about it before. Up until the late 80's he talked in a high soft voice to keep his higher register of his vocal range. When he decided to talk in a more normal tone his range did decline a bit too and he couldn't reach such high notes anymore. So from around the 90's he's talking with his normal voice

This whole deep/high voice debate is so funny to me… when I speak on the phone with a stranger my voice changes, when I try to talk to new people my voice changes, when I talk with my family and friends my voice changes! I don’t see how people think she can’t feel nervous or comfortable in certain situations. And the vocal rest is also super well known in the singing community, you don’t to over use your voice before a performance.

That's voice change because when you talk with your friends/family your voice becomes higher because you would speak fast and try to be more jovial , including higher authorities for not to sound more dominant our voice sounds higher when we are afraid of something or someone!! If we speak slow and clam our voice goes deeper

For people who don’t understand here’s an explanation from a person who belts a lot: As a musical singer/ actor or actress we use a belting tone a lot and after a while it can cause a strained voice, it happens a lot in the singing department of my school but, like in the video talking in a softer tone or not talking at all and hydrating the day before can help prevent strain that’s also why u see Ariana eating pastiles before her performances though it isn’t recommended. Hope this helps whoever’s curious ❤

As a choir singer, it’s actually much harder to sing for long periods of time in a soft/whispery tone than it is to sing loud/belt. You run out of breath faster, your throat will hurt quicker- it’s just a lack of support that’s hard to keep up

I was a voice major in college, when I began singing I thought I had a low voice bc my speaking voice was lower. After taking lessons, we realized I’m a soprano but didn’t know how to utilize my different registers, chest and up. Once I began singing higher and relaxing my throat my speaking voice went up as well and it was much more comfortable. I didn’t even REALIZE it was uncomfortable before until I changed it. She’s been singing classical Broadway for the production I’m sure, her natural soprano voice is probably just coming through more, and she’s probably trying to reduce strain for performance as well🫡

I personally speak in a transatlantic accent because I always had a lisp,I mumbled,I held on to my “baby” accent longer than most,definitely a speech impediment too. So learning that accent helped me A LOT. Now I naturally speak in it,and it’s just my voice now. I don’t like Ariana Grande, but she works with voices and is a singer, depending on rolls and styles voices change a bit 🤷♀️. It’s not bad.

Opera and broadway makes voices change drastically, for the better usually too. Exceptions being dramatic weight loss from plug size to thin/normal which can cause people to rely on breath support from fat and can damage voices, which has happened. In other interviews she explained that she changes the pitch of her voice depending if she needs to use it later for performing.
No matter what has changed she’s a human being, and it shouldn’t change what people think abt her. I might like her and ya’ll don’t have to but don’t shame her bcuz of the things that have changed with her face, voice, etc. ❤
Idk about trying to save her singing voice, but it kind of reminds me of Paris Hilton talking in a baby voice on the Simple Life and in certain interviews back in the day.
This whole deep/high voice debate is so funny to me… when I speak on the phone with a stranger my voice changes, when I try to talk to new people my voice changes, when I talk with my family and friends my voice changes! I don’t see how people think she can’t feel nervous or comfortable in certain situations. And the vocal rest is also super well known in the singing community, you don’t to over use your voice before a performance.

That's voice change because when you talk with your friends/family your voice becomes higher because you would speak fast and try to be more jovial , including higher authorities for not to sound more dominant our voice sounds higher when we are afraid of something or someone!! If we speak slow and clam our voice goes deeper

For people who don’t understand here’s an explanation from a person who belts a lot: As a musical singer/ actor or actress we use a belting tone a lot and after a while it can cause a strained voice, it happens a lot in the singing department of my school but, like in the video talking in a softer tone or not talking at all and hydrating the day before can help prevent strain that’s also why u see Ariana eating pastiles before her performances though it isn’t recommended. Hope this helps whoever’s curious ❤

As a choir singer, it’s actually much harder to sing for long periods of time in a soft/whispery tone than it is to sing loud/belt. You run out of breath faster, your throat will hurt quicker- it’s just a lack of support that’s hard to keep up

I was a voice major in college, when I began singing I thought I had a low voice bc my speaking voice was lower. After taking lessons, we realized I’m a soprano but didn’t know how to utilize my different registers, chest and up. Once I began singing higher and relaxing my throat my speaking voice went up as well and it was much more comfortable. I didn’t even REALIZE it was uncomfortable before until I changed it. She’s been singing classical Broadway for the production I’m sure, her natural soprano voice is probably just coming through more, and she’s probably trying to reduce strain for performance as well🫡

I personally speak in a transatlantic accent because I always had a lisp,I mumbled,I held on to my “baby” accent longer than most,definitely a speech impediment too. So learning that accent helped me A LOT. Now I naturally speak in it,and it’s just my voice now. I don’t like Ariana Grande, but she works with voices and is a singer, depending on rolls and styles voices change a bit 🤷♀️. It’s not bad.

When Ariana grande speaks in a deep raspy voice it's either before or after a concert because type of voice and way before concert she has her voice higher or softer to save her voice for when she sings
The explanation is very simple. Her voice is changing because she is practicing different vocal techniques. Wicked has difficult songs for the two leads (I am assuming she is going to be Glinda). Ariana is talented but I have never seen her do anything that seems to challenge her. Short answer: She is becoming a better singer.

Opera and broadway makes voices change drastically, for the better usually too. Exceptions being dramatic weight loss from plug size to thin/normal which can cause people to rely on breath support from fat and can damage voices, which has happened. Also Christina Aguilera mentioned how Burlesque was so taxing since the dances and training was non stop and took so much hardcore practice
