Why Does A Male Narcissist Hate His Mother?

They hate their mother, and then become her. This is scary. My ex narcissist's mother abused him, and that was so damaging to him. But now HE is way worse than her because he has abused dozens of women in the past 45 years.

So you basically saying men are to blame for their toxic ass mothers behavior. I get that your ex was horrible but ya'll need to stop putting all men in the same category cuz their mother was shitty and toxic and abusive then ya'll say all men who had mothers like that will be abusive

You articulated that so perfectly and concisely! This was the scenario of my ex-husband and his mother and their relationship dynamic to a "T". Throughout our brief marriage the mother put herself in a competition with me. She used to accept hand me down clothes from me. She even tried to wear my wedding dress for a costume party, but she couldn't fit in it. She was a nightmare to deal with. And he was a mess! He actually lived with his parents his entire life. Except for 4 years of college and two brief marriages.

Yep it took me a long time to understand that the man I married was already the place card holder as the husband of his mother. He took the place of her husband when his father passed away.

I would like to point out that not all men who have toxic or narcissistic mothers end up as narcissists themselves. Some people can't stand the constant criticism and degradation, so they distance themselves from that toxicity.

If a man has a toxic relationship with his mother, he will be affected in ways that you cannot even see. It will affect his physical health, his mental health, his self-esteem, his fears will take over to the point of either acting out or holding in rage, which eventually all will come out on the woman he is in relationship with, as well as his own children

It seems to me that there is more than one kind of interaction. Another interaction I've seen is one in which the son wanted all of the mother's attention, gifts, and approval, competitively resentful of any affection, gifts, approval given to his siblings. He undermined his siblings at every opportunity. He leeched from his mother well into adulthood, despite his mother's best efforts to establish healthy boundaries.

It terrible that these people grow up like this and you think I finally found the love of my life. Fast forward the tears, the trauma, everything you ever could believe love would bring. These men are children that never grew up going around ruining every good girl that just wanted love.Cheating, lying, abusing, using, and the list goes on. Making us think it’s us. I go back to before I met him. I loved my life, my job, my friends, healthy relationship with myself and body. Now I’m an insecure, fat, isolating myself 24/7 that I can’t get a job, I’m an alcoholic. How does this happen. And he’s out there with the next victim. Meanwhile he has nothing is never going to be nothing he uses these women for a place to live and money

This confusing, my ex who basically raised our son is narcissistic. My son is now displaying malignant characteristics like his dad Clay has gone in and out of baf behaviors, but we've had many good years. I did teach him about empathy, how we should help others and act kind as we can, though we're human and we all have our days. However, I indulged him way too much, everything was centered around him, his needs came before mine and I put him up on a pedestal Millennials have had it rough with bad economies. He didn't fare well, and his father and his family are quite wealthy and the majority are successful. It should be said most of them lack morals and values, are greedy, selfish and have superiority complexes I allowed myself to make sure he saw all of my divorced family members, because he had a lot of cousins and his aunts, uncles, and grandmother who he was very close to Instead of being grateful for my kindness, as Clay flew up on most holidays and summers and lived with his dad over 1,000 miles after his dad basically stole him from me - that family spread awful lies, malicious gossip, made fun of me behind my back. Clay would almost always dismiss it. They tried and tried to come between us, shame my son, etc Somehow we overcame, and he was self aware and had good qualities Then he became involved with a girl who has bad designs, and he went to rot. He gets depressed around her, puts on a lot of weight I made the mistake of leaning on him too much these past 3 years, it's been awful. I feel like I'm cursed Anyway turns out Clay has been playing hero and victim with me his whole adult life and has been talking behind my backs for years which is rewarded by the family. He's a 2 faced backstabber, and because I'm homeless and struggling, he hates me now because I can't give him anything and have gotten old. He's 33 I don't know how much of this is his gf, dad or friends and family, turns out he's been telling them all the person personal confidential details of my struggles, and he's also given me terr terrible advice. It's like he wants me to kill myself I blocked him on the phone and dropped him from Facebook. He can email or message me on FB, that way everything is documented and saved for my sanity and to stay detached and logical For a couple years, the abuse kept getting worse and worse, verbal and emotional. Just curious to see if my life will get better now Thank you

Just because a man makes a statement against the modern woman, doesn't make him a narcissist himself. There is nothing wrong with pointing out a pattern of shitty behavior. Some women think that society will let them get away with their shitty behavior just because they are women. And some of us men are saying enough is enough. Now if that man starts acting like a piece of shit towards others himself, then he too would be in the wrong, and should be held accountable for such.
