I had this problem after hitting the gym too hard. I used a sport velcro wrist brace. its taken 6 weeks and my wrist is almost back to normal. Had to wear the wrist brace every day, even at work.

i punched a brick wall 6 years ago and the pinky's knuckle got pushed back 2 inches...after healing the knuckle now sits about 1 inch below the rest when i clench fist ... it doesnt hurt normally but after i play tennis for a long time it does "hurt" -- not really a hurt but a tense unpleasant feeling.. i cannot move my knuckle up to where it was because the bone has hardened .. when it was healing it did try to push it up but didnt happen!

4 weeks. Not what I wanted to hear lol. My pain is very subtle. I don't have pain to the touch, but I do feel some strain when I put my palm up and push out with resistance with my thumb. Probably from tennis, also my car that has no power steering does not help

10 weeks now with this injury, doesn't feel any better, doesn't hurt even pressing on it but when I do the opening a doorknob motion or turning car on type of movements. I work with tools and a avid tennis player. Is expensive hand therapy the solution? creams? I took prescription anti inflammatory for 20 days and nothing.

So I'm 62. I had a fall on the 4th. First set if xrays the fracture was not picked up. I ended up with an " impacted distal radial fracture" At the time of injury I had pain on both my thumb..radial side and my pinkie ulnar side. But no fractures were on Ulna. I've had the cast on 2 weeks and have zero pain on mr fracture side, but my ulnar side wrist and forearm are killing me. Is this normal for a DRF. Are there exercises I can do while in the cast? Thsnks so much.

I have this injury for about 4 years now and the last two years is when I could exert more and do more forehand shots. I'm still not at my prime level as my technique took a huge hit, but I'm doing wrist strengthening and wrist stretches to see the following month it will help.

I twinged my left wrist while golfing a couple of years ago - I golf lefty. At first I thought it would recover on its own but it's gotten progressively worse in all physical activities (golf, working out, household chores). Today on the back nine I completely lost the ability to release the club at impact and I'm fed up. Finally I'm going to see an ortho doctor for it as soon as I can. If surgery is needed, one thing I'm worried about is time to be able to resume typing. I work an office job and in these times I can't afford to be out of commission for a while during recovery. So if surgery is recommended but it takes 1-2 months to begin typing again...i'll probably keep putting it off.

Here are some general guidelines. - look at your racquet flexibility rating. Below 65 recommended - reduce string tension - stay on the low side of the recommended range - switch to a multi-filament string like Wilson NXT or natural gut - correct your technique - use bigger muscles and shift your weight - use correct racquet grip - dont squeeze your racquet hard. This is something that has helped me the most with my wrist pain issue. - warmup before playing and stretch your wrists - use a wrist brace - Isolate your strokes by playing only one stroke for a few days to figure out what is causing the pain. I have a ball machine so it was easier for me to isolate.
