My Journalism program profs actually did tell us to talk like that 😅 But ya just so we would pronounce words correctly and also so we never sound "happy " when reporting something sad etc.

What I like about the news voice is they talk so much and then take a deep breath. You can hear the gasps sounds they make when they talk so fast.

On the way of speaking "No, no one taught us to do it". Speak for yourself. No one may have taught you, but many broadcaster are taught this way of speaking in school for broadcast. It's called non-regional dialect, and is an intentional and purposeful way of speaking as a reporter, anchor, or broadcaster.

Actually you would need to use the transatlantic accent if you wanted it to be non regional, otherwise it would still sound like the American region

As a retired news reporter who started in the early 80s, we women had to drop the register of our voices, so we sounded more like men. Therefore, more "credible."

I have a question: why does not the news ever report regular peoples issues like how families can put food on the table. Is that not news that actully matter instead of just reporting on the opinions of the rich and powerful.

So you actually made a video to try to get us all to believe the “news voice” is just one big coincidence? Turns out it actually is something that is taught. The proper name for “news voice” is non-regional diction.

The make up and hair really surprised me. As someone from a third world country, hearing that reporters in first world countries don't have a hair and makeup team is weird. Here, the hair and makeup is done for them, and usually by the same 2 or 3 people. There are even sponsored hair cuts or styling by bigger chains.

It's interesting how unfair life is, when you were on television, you were in your prime, young, the most beautiful in the world, but apparently you didn't get enough at the beginning of your career. Sorry, this does not concern you directly, but prostitutes and porn actresses constantly complain that at the beginning of their careers, while they are young and beautiful, they get more, and then their salaries decrease and decrease with age, although their experience grows. Don't you think it's unfair, even though you do a practically similar job - entertaining the audience?

It’s very scripted and robotic. The Lord gave you a human mind and speech for reason. It’s important to share your viewpoint because you all are still citizen with lives and families. The news should have the news workers should have their own honest views on what’s going on. We need real people with real minded thoughts on things about world we live in. Enough said. Much love.
