Pretty much because Yanukovych is a p.o.s. and left a number of people bitter after his "winning" of the 2010 election against Tymoshenko, then there's the election in 2004 where some strangeness happened to the other candidate, Yushchenko.

Yes !! It's such a complex story. But i do know... The UN has had a motion about fighting NeoNazism and Russian voted pro fight them and Ukraine voted against fighting NeoNazism. @@VioletLife8 Actually, to be clear it wasn't specific to "fighting" neo-nazism. It was related to freedom-of-speech and the refusal to "ban neo-nazi speech" because speech is fundamental to the way our democracy works. That's actually the problem of free-speech and a huge weakness...as it can easily be weaponized (and has been). If you believe in freedom-of-speech, then preventing someone's right to speak or assemble is contrary to that belief.

Why is the russia insight and other russian opiniated channels censored? If there are so much disinformation in them and they are just propaganda may as well show us why and how right ? Fight For Justice People are being robbed of Democrat party politicians to finance the Democratic party's mistakes in the GENOCIDE committed by its Ukrainian neo-nazi allies. Ukrainian neo nazis versus Russian-speaking Ukrainians (2014-2022). United States (Democrat Party) - NATO vs The Russian Federation. (2022) Venue: Ukraine. The chronology begins with the efforts of the United States and NATO to provoke the Russian Federation. The United States and NATO fostered neo-nazi radical groups in Ukraine to be the executors of genocide against russian-speaking Ukrainians. America and NATO bought Ukrainian politicians to serve as cheerleading puppets and served as envoys to control the Ukrainian people under the guise of nationalism. Why was Ukraine chosen to be an arena of war...? Because Ukraine is the only location that qualifies. Having a radical neo-nazi group, there is a target of genocide that can provoke russian anger, geographically quite large. 15,000 eastern Ukrainians have been murdered, raped, tortured by Ukrainian neo-nazis in the eight years since 2014. After 8 years of peace efforts, but Ukrainian neo-nazis have always undermined and destroyed peace efforts and agreements by campaigning to join NATO, and it is clearly the second attempt at provocation besides the genocide that American and NATO politicians have designed. In February 2022, the Russian federation responded to U.S. and NATO provocations. Ukrainians are victims of American foreign policy (democratic party) and NATO. I suggest we study this conflict also from the reportage of independent journalists such as PATRICK LANCASTER (US) on the KZread channel. Or.... Eva K Bartlett (Canada), Graham Phillips (UK), VN Rangeloni (Italy), Ruben Gisbert (Spain), John Mark Dougan (US) Their reprotase is on their respective youtube channels And.... Cristelle (FRANCE) On youtube channel : Donbass Insiders .................. and many independent journalists from various countries... Please review it for yourself after seeing the various data submitted by the independent journalist since 8 years ago. May the civilians of western Ukraine and from the east soon find peace. And rotten politicians and fascist mobs must be eradicated for a better future for Ukraine There are also at least two documentaries that many people from various countries need to know, because this documentary is also a piece of data that complements the reportage of Patrick Lancaster and other independent journalists Mark Bartalmai (German) Title : ukraine agony the concealed war Made in 2014 Oliver Stone (US) Title : UKRAINE ON FIRE Made in 2015 And I really appreciate LIVRE NOIR (FRANCE) journalistic work. And I also advise all of us to look intellectually at the work ANNE LAURE BONNEL. I suggest you learn a little from the discussion on The Duran (KZread) and The New Atlas

Putin had everyone conned. No doubt he could have resolved this issue years ago, diplomatically had he been honourable and shown some humility. But he is neither. And he's certainly not a diplomat. All these years since USSR collapsed, this ex KGB leader conspired to take back Ukraine, to recreate a tzarst empire, based on serfs and slaves, and terror. He accumulated his wealth, squirrelling the nation's wealth away in his pocket, and surrounded himself with gangster style mafiosos. He's kept the people of Russia sick, and poor. His jealousy towards Ukraine knows no bounds. But Putin will be gone, the aging butcher, and Ukraine from where Russia was formed, will go on. Russia will remain the land of gangster and alcoholics.

Except that plenty of other Russian speakers, both in the east and other parts of of Ukraine, including some interviewed here, say they've never had any problem! Obviously Mr Zelensky is among them, along with many refugees from the current conflict. Perhaps it's not so much a question of people's ethnic heritage or whether or not they speak the Russian language, but of what system they prefer to live under - Russian style authoritarianism or European style democracy? It seems by far the majority of Ukrainians, whatever their heritage, want the latter, are very happy with their government working towards this goal, and are prepared to die to defend it against Russian efforts to impose control over their smaller neighbour. Obviously if people in any country A are against their own government and instead support the government of a neighbouring country B, they could expect to find themselves in some trouble.

@@papercup2517 European style democracy in Ukraine? You must be joking. The first thing that happened post the coup was the shutting down of ALL non far right political parties and news outlets. Opposition figures in politics or the media were jailed or 'disappeared '. The SBU, which is the equivalent of A.H's SS started rounding people up and those they couldn't find are now on a 'Kill list'. This list includes western journalists who question Ukrainian government policies. Then there is the western style democratic kleptomania which has turned Zel and his circle into billionaires. Add to all that, the fact that post coup 'fair and free' elections have NOT included so called Ukrainian citizens who live in the Donbass or Crimea. They would not vote the 'right' way. School curriculi have been changed to rewrite history and promote Ukrainian nationalist ideology and the Russian language was banned from the public sphere, even though the majority of Ukrainians speak Russian as their first language. The Nz1 battalions were incorporated into the UA almost immediately after the coup, and subsequently committed atrocities on the people in the east with the imprimatur of Kiev. Read about the Odessa massacre for an idea of how they behaved. So, European values? I don't think so.

fre1gn Eastern Ukrainians are treated with hostility by Kiev, why? It's because politically the. regions of Novorussiya have never been aligned with the Northwest, and Kiev since the state was created. Despite changing issues, and times Ukraine has been perpetually fragmented in the middle. People from the east, and South of Ukraine won't have a chance at winning anything in parliament unless they outnumber the Ukrainians from the Northwest of the country. They have been brawls in parliament, and attacks outside of it. That some people want free of Kiev should come as no surprise. Especially, as the only heads of state from the Northwest have all been oligarchs, with criminal charges leveled against them. Reformers in Kiev don't even have any real influence.

The people found themselves on the wrong side of a new border, through an accident of history. Why should they move? Here's an analogy for you: the USA fought two wars, against Spain and later against newly independent Mexico, gaining huge territories. Many found themselves living in the USA where they had previously been Mexican. Their descendants are now treated as illegal immigrants and despised, much as the nationalistic Ukrainians despise their Russian population. Again, just an accident of history. Borders have been going back and forth for centuries, and will continue to do so.

It's odd that the journalist said that the woman on the phone had said "we want autonomy, we don't want to be part of Russia" yet the subtitles came up as "we would agree to autonomy. I don't think Putin wants us" which is a little different. And quite interesting how things can get translated. BTW a typical BBC type of interview: vox pop rather than anything serious. They do that in the UK as well. Walk about a town centre before elections asking one or two odd bods what they think and how they will vote. 8 minutes of a 30 minute bulletin wasted. Same here, cups of tea, religious services etc.

How exactly? If some Texans wanted to secede and join Mexico, it wouldn’t give Mexico the right to invade Texas. Eastern Ukrainians never had a free and fair referendum demanding independence from Ukraine. Russia simply sent their mercenary goons in to cause chaos, before launching a full scale invasion. I’m sure many of the pro-Russian Ukrainians in this video have now changed their mind about living under Putin, after seeing his troops lay waste to entire cities. Funny that they want their voices heard in government, when Putin’s government literally arrests people for 15 years simply for stating facts.

Just reporting a slightly inaccurate subtitle. When the man at [1:57] starts ranting about Europe, he doesn't just say fascism, he says "gender fascism" ("гендерный фашизм") I think, even though I didn't know such a thing existed.

Search for Kier Starmer (labour leader in uk) being asked what a woman is or, can a woman have a penis. Labour say a woman can have a penis and if you call them 'he' instead of 'she' then you can be punished for misgendering. Perhaps that is the sort of thing he means by gender fascism.

The phone conversation's captions did not match what she said the lady was saying!

  • @ivanbojonca4218

Reporter is presenting everything in a DISTORTED way. For example, in her translation of the eavesdroped conversation of a woman talking on the phone, the woman said: "It's not going to be better with Russia, we need a greater autonomy, we don't need to be part of Russia"... While, in fact the REAL phrase was: "Well, would be good at least to get autonomy... I'd agree that... About going to Russia - Putin desn't really need us..." That's just one example. All the report is full of this kind of distortions. The episodes, telling pro-russian point of view are presented in a ridiculous way.

The translation of what the women was saying over the phone is provided in the English subtitles and is the same as what what you wrote in your comment. I don't think the reporter was translating her words, but summarizing the rest of the conversation.

The translation is correct. I am fluent in Russian and English. Only one thing is instead of need, she said Putin does not really want us.

BBC why don't you go in Jerusalem, in Gaza, in Palestine and report about the apartheid system the Palestinians are living in ? Why have you never, ever asked questions to Palestinians women, m'en and children being ethnically cleansed in East Jerusalem ? Why don't you report about the occupation, the daily killings, the humiliations, the plight of this people ? Or do Palestinian lives not matter like European ones ? Amnesty International has issued several reports condemning Israel and still Great Britain, Germany, France have been rejecting the reports. Why?

7:54 < watch this part where Oleg in Eastern Ukraine shows a video of a student demonstration in Kiev, shouting "Hang the Russians!"...and that they (those who live in the region with Oleg and his family) would like military help from Russian troops, but they will be called "separatists", America will say Russia is "annexing" and that it will escalate further war. Oleg knew what he was talking about, don't you think?
