Why do so many Oxford University Students get married?
It is very common for Oxford University students to get married within their first term at Oxford University.
This marriage or 'college marriage' is part of the college family system where you have college parents, college children, and college spouses.

Never happened in my day! You'll probably find though in a few years that some of your Oxford friends do marry each other for real.

Definitely bagged the best wife in all of college 😍
Are your college partners randomly assigned? or do you just choose to marry one of your friends?

You choose, mostly you marry outside of your subject for a bit of variety for your children but that's about the only stipulation (also don't marry your college brother or sister)

wait...you have college siblings too? is it that each college couple will get 2 college children, who then technically are college siblings to each other? Or is there a different system for this

Thanks for unexpected reply . It was intended to be tongue in cheek ? Anyway, here's my sixpence worth : firstly that it's a temporary passing phase type thing and NOT an indication of an underlying depressive state ? If the latter then I'm sure you'll be " encumbered " with help / advice - some of it helpful at least. Try various Religions ? And avoid con artists like Eckhart Tolle and Alan Watts. !! Don't do mind altering drugs or excess alcohol . Sorry - probably sound like your old man ? Life can be very cruel . Good luck!
