My mom bought me this watch last week as a graduation gift, 43mm blue dial. It was my first grail watch, and I had been dreaming about it ever since I studied one semester i Switzerland, I remember trying it on inside the TAG Heuer boutique in Zürich. In my opinion it is the prettiest of all the Aquaracers. The horisontal lines and blue dial is stunning and reminds me about PP Nautilus. The steel bezel with blue numbers creates a fine contrast to the dial (unlike the newer models where the bezel and dial are same colour), the yellow secondhand and text makes it even better. As a final note, the lume is absolutely stunning and unbelievable. A fine watch I will treasure for many many years to come.

I've been into watches for 10 years. I've always avoided Tag but decided to try out an aquaracer. It's truly a great watch. I will say that the new price is too high but used, they sell for half the price. This makes them a great value prop.

You're right, and I definitely didn't pay full retail for this, and I doubt many people do. I suspect people who do pay full retail for these mightn't be aware they can actually haggle on these things, but that's a sweeping generalisation on my part with only anecdotal evidence to "back it up", so can't be sure. But definitely deals to be had on them, especially now the new 200m models are available.

@@LumePip I have a Tag boutique near me which I am planning to visit soon. I didn’t know people could haggle in boutiques unless you mean independent sellers only?

Tag Heuer is my favorite brand! I always see it when I watch the Grand Prix , I like Cartier too actually, But I always felt they were too pricey, but heck everything is nowadays.

Great review Pip and I always love the humour 👏😂 I really like the look of the Aquaracer! I also think Tag are a good brand! They're hated by some people because they listen too much to social media saying: "Rolex is good, Tag is bad". However, I do think that most people who can think for themselves actually do like Tag!

The vast majority of people don’t hate Tag, they happily walk around with one on their wrist wearing a well made, reliable watch. A very small minority of watch snobs hate certain brands ( often for no sensible reason) the same way they hate homage brands while seemingly being unable to understand most people simply want a watch they enjoy the look of while not being able to afford the vastly overpriced “ Luxury brands” with their huge mark up percentages. I personally love watches, I don’t have a huge collection ( around a dozen) at various prices up to around £2000, I enjoy wearing the Rolex homage as much as the most expensive one and in the end that’s what should matter.

There definitely are, mate - I'd say an Oris Aquis is the first thing that comes to mind, especially on the second hand market. But thanks so much for the kind words, means a lot and looking forward to doing more vids and to seeing more from yourself too

My 1st Swiss watch is Tag. Love it and still wear it till these days.

I just bought a Tag Heuer formula 1 chronograph. I saw one at at pawn shop 6 months ago for 599.00. This week they marked it down to 389.00.I figured at that price I'll get it. Seems to work fine to me.

The first watch I bought myself was a Tag Heurer Professional (subby) which i found in a consignment shop and bought for $100usd ... they let me authenticate it at an AD before finalizing the purchase.

Ok, so being from the US I have no clue about the soccer references. That out of the way- the TAG aquaracer is great, I bought one thinking I would check it out and flip it- but I love the way it wears, the Lume is awesome and the value is great because everyone sticks there nose up to TAG. Thanks so much, and hopefully despite the soccer/football references, there's enough watch stuff too. The lume is really an underrated aspect of it, and "watch people" generally seem to dislike TAG, or at least modern TAG, no doubt in part thanks to their marketing and their dominance in the '80s and '90s with some now pretty dated-looking designs. That can mean good deals to be had on them now, though, too, as you say!

The hate is only coming from those youtubers/influencers, if you read comments all is love to tag heuer.

Got one and love it. Had for 3 years and it's been great. Really don't get the hate for tag. Is it cos you can easily buy them in a shop, without a wait list, and dealers make no money from re sell? Maybe. If you like the watch buy the watch.

I like Tag. Aquaracer is great, premium quality watch. I also have Omega, Longines, Zenith, IWC. Love 'em all.

I love the look of their new aqua racer tbh. The bezel is a huge upgrade.

Yeah, the 200m model is definitely a winner - ditching the cyclops will please a lot of people, no doubt, too. But I’m a sucker for a good cyclops, and those six o’clock ones on the 300m models of the current line-up aren’t for me

@@LumePip I'm personally not a big fan of cyclopses , mainly because they can be a pain to clean. I prefer Dubois Depraz style date magnifiers , those are integrated into the movement /dial , there by keeping the crystal completely clean whilst still magnifying the datewindow.

i have 4 tags one heuer . a 2012 titanium 500m aqua racer . a carrera twin time , carrera slr 300 . 2016 monza and a heuer 2000 . total cost about 5500 . that’s why i love tag . they do make a lot of crap i think but also some of the best .

I thought hublot was the most hated?

... I have San Martin watches, ye, from China, it's true, that impress with more character and quality feel !

Well I definitely dont. I like their sporty casual style, suits me to a tee.

Welcome back. Great review as always, I've always found Tag's appealing but I would rather get a Certina they're not as expensive but are well made and crucially being a Celtic fan they have the right date on the dial 😀

Watched the whole video and still don't know why people hate Tag Heuer

I own a quartz tag heuer vintage f1 . I bought it with my hard earn money n i am happy . Any watch is a good watch if it makes your day . Any watch that tells time is good . I wear it on my wrist daily n i am proud of it . Not everyone is a millionaire we buy what we like n proud to wear it cuz we love the design sometimes in life be happy for what the lord gave u.

That's a great question. Manchester City are surely Richard Mille - endlessly impressive materials and execution, and yet still quite boring. Real Madrid must be Rolex - not as technologically advanced as say, Omega (who we can call Barca for the sake of this), yet still always end up winning trophies and wooing people the world over.

I have a complicated relation with Tag Heur. When I was a little kid adults loved Tag, it was their first Swiss watch. I used to look at them and love how original they were. Today TAG it’s at a crossroad. They can either revive their heritage or keep doing weird crappy smart watches. Still, Aquaracer is not hat bad of a watch. If you find it discounted it can be quite the bargain.

Good point, mate! I think at the price you can find them on the second hand market, they can be a really reasonable option.

It is overpriced with poor resale value. But nonetheless i own the Carrera Day Date flagship model.

Agreed… price point entry when buying Tag is critical. I was lucky enough to get a new day/date Carrera for 40% off retail a couple of years ago. Love the watch, wear it as a daily, and feel like I got a respectable discount on it.

Simply not true. Pretty sure from knowing the facts that these videos are the only ones that hate. If true why are Rolex and TAG the most followed watches on social media and facebook? omega etc are far less. With boutique stores everywhere. Pretty sure to most Tag and rolex are the most recognisable watch brands. And also if true and apparently hated, why is TAG one of the best selling watches in the world?? Please people look it up. Speak to real watch retailers, like watches of Switzerland. Don't believe this nonsense. When you speak to real watch experts, the hate only comes from these influencers on these Channels. Tags swiss history and connection with F1, le mans, Ferrari, Porsche, Hollywood film stars is also unrivalled and very impressive, which other watch makers envy.

Its all a personal opinion to me what brands people hate what so ever look at this guys there cant be a single brand in the world . Big names small names no names watches is a personal preference how many people in the world can afford those high end million dollar watches . To me this is all marketing strategy any working watch is a good watch any watch be it 20 dlrs watch is agood watch any watch that tells u time is a watch .
