Why do people BELIEVE Amber Heard?

Amber Heard played the entire world, selling falsehoods about Johnny Depp but inevitably the truth came out. Meghan Markle is trying to do the same thing and establish herself as the survivor or racism and bullying at the hand of the Royal Family and many people are buying into her claims. But why? Why do people end up believing Amber Heard and Meghan Markle?
In this video, I dive into how these women used our desire for justice against us.

    As an 18 year old, I'm really worried about the future. I feel like post modernism is only just starting to take its roots and that things will get even worse in the future, as my generation has almost universally accepted this approach as the right way to see things and live their lives (sadly data backs that up). I've lost friends because of disagreements I'd had with them, and this is something that shouldn't happen. I should be able to befriend people who think differently than I do, but it seems like this is actively discouraged by today's society, and that only increases internal divisions and polarizes us based on mundane and often unimportant disagreements and views. People have stopped agreeing on the facts - and that's what's so dangerous. When they get their information from biased sources and don't even attempt to exert judgment or independent, critical thinking, they believe that anyone who disagrees with them must be a bad, bigoted person. But media is a whole other issue that I won't get into here. I'm not even a right-winger, I consider myself to be a left-leaning centrist and I have still lost friends who subscribe to the woke mob's definition of how things should be. Sometimes I think maybe I'm better off without them, but that is a wrong approach too. They aren't inherently bad people, they just think differently than me and I accept that - as long as we're basing our disagreements on the clear, true and objective facts. But that's not what happens anymore. Wokeism calls for everyone to submit to the collectivist hive mind and discourages people from voicing their actual opinions for fear of societal neglect. It's happened to me, it's happened to countless others, and it's only getting worse.

    @Hot Jambalaya No, I'm not a right winger and you have no idea what you're talking about. What you're doing is subscribing to the Right Wing propaganda that attempts to have you see everything as black and white and wants you to view yourself as a victim of censure and a society that is trending rapidly leftward, something over which you have no control. That is understandable, of course, as every change in society, like what Postmodernism calls for, evokes strong feelings on the other side of the political spectrum. Left wing media wants you to think one way, and some buy into that. Right wing media wants you to think the other way, and some buy into that too. It's a never-ending cycle of propaganda that is mostly just benefitting the corporate owners of those media outlets, as more chaos and polarization means more views and clicks, which equals more money. They don't want you to think for yourself. While it's true that they report mostly accurate information, they neglect to mention the other side of the issue, or the bigger picture, because it benefits their narrative. Corporate media is thriving on such chaos and people on the political left and right just fall right into their trap, and if one lacks the ability to exert critical thinking and independent judgement, it's often hard to leave that bubble. Well, I do not see anything in black and white. Virtually every issue I can think of has many sides and aspects to consider and I don't rush to judge something based on what I see or hear, instead I look for what I don't see or what corporate media is hiding from me. That is why I consume public media and unbiased sources like the AP, Reuters, PBS, NPR, PolitiFact and FactCheck. I want the whole facts, not just the facts one side wants me to know. The manipulation of facts by the political media is why nobody can agree on anything anymore. When you don't receive the same set of facts, how can you possibly see the bigger picture, have a civil discourse and compromise? You can't. This has also led to a rise in nationalism and extremism, which is a worrying trend. Also, nobody said being a right winger is bad, I certainly haven't. I merely stated above that despite me not even being a right winger, I've lost friends with whom I disagreed on woke-ism. I hold a certain set of fact-based beliefs. Now, a majority of them align economically with traditionally liberal to moderate stances, while I am also culturally moderate. That's why I consider myself to be a left-leaning centrist. I am not an ideologue, but a pragmatist, and I don't think any one ideology can claim to hold a mandate on solutions to problems our society faces. I advocate for what works and what I consider to be fair. And there is nothing wrong with that. If you identify more closely with right wing policies, that's fine. You have the right to think whatever you want and I don't judge you for it because I don't even know you. But what you've written is just patently false. Not only can't you dismiss an entire political position because you think it's "nonsense", but to me you seem to have adopted the right wing narrative that everything is pitted against you and that society wants to dispose of people like you. That's simply not the case, but I guess you can believe whatever you want. The Left doesn't control or influence me, and I don't let the Right do that either. I simply subscribe to neither.

    Thank you so much for your pointing out the pernicious nature of Post-Modernism! I knew something was going on with people but you threw a spotlight on it. The whole idea of all relationships being only oppressors/victims, with no room for equality. Branding everyone of a particular ethnic group as racist, because some are is truly stealth prejudice. What you state about this evil philosophy taking away individuality, the recognition that each person is to be judged on their character, is a revelation for me. Knowing what post-modernism for what it is, better enables an individual to recognize it for the baseless fraud that it is and the root of much needless conflict.

In the late 90s a young girl, who was in foster care, didn't like the rules her foster parents were setting, so she lied and reported the husband of the couple for sexually assaulting her. Some time later, after he had been registered for a while, she admitted that it wasn't true. Was his sentence reversed? No. It did not matter that he was an innocent man wrongfully accused and convicted. It also almost happened in the early 2000's again. This time two girls who saw an episode of SVU, decided to lie to people that their male teacher touched them inappropriately. Other students came forward and stated that the 2 girls were not alone with him at anytime they had claimed.

    Funny enough, woke culture is basically an evolution of thought that got there because leftist German and French academics came to the US during WW2 and in the 70s. Traditional class based Marxism didn't really work so well in the US like it did in Europe because the US had such high socioeconomic mobility due to having more economic freedom, so they apploed Marxist principles to aspects of culture: race, gender, orientation, etc. Woke culture is essentially that mixed with postmodernism which derived from a bunch if degenerate pedophile academics and philosophers from France (actually, the theory that sexuality exists on a spectrum was imvented by a guy who appears to have come up with a such a concept in order to legitimize pedophilic attraction). These ideas took root in the US because they were groomed into people over a handful of generations through higher education, constantly changing, evolving and trying to work out the kinks, and now it's trickling out into business, culture, politics and lower education. People had been warning about it's inevitable impact on wider society as far back as 2014 (Gamergate was in some ways an expression of the culture wars where people were criticizing corruption in games media and the woke infiltration of feminism and identity polotics that has tried to take over the subculture and it against them.) Unfortunately, mainstream society either didn't know what was going on or didn't care. And now we are where we are.

    I believe you're confusing postmodernism with intersectionality. Postmodernism is the philosophy of skepticism towards the ideas of modernism, such as reason, science, etc and places far more importance on individual perspective. Intersectionality is a framework in which there are victim groups (women, black people, trans, etc.) and oppressor/privileged groups (men, white, cis, etc.). The idea behind it is that issues that affect one group affect all other groups and so the groups must work together to affect larger social change, which would adequately describe what you're getting at.

  • @invisibleman4827

    @invisibleman4827

    On paper, but the line between them is hazy, when the latter start demonising ideas as being based on "oppression". Furthermore, intersectionality is garbage because it has that oversimplification that you're either "oppressed" or an "oppressor." The effect of this way of thinking is bizarre, because you get ideas such as a multimillionaire female socialite is oppressed by a homeless man on account of gender. You get intersectionality people openly shitting on male domestic violence victims because they're from an "oppressor class," and their abusive female partners are "oppressed" by them/can't abuse them because abuse is caused by "oppression" rather than the demons of the individual/are merely "fighting back against their male oppressors" hence their open support of Amber Heard and vilification of Johnny Depp. Personally, I've seen intersectional feminists actively celebrating female abusers, even rape of men, as "payback for oppression" and as a sexual assault survivor that marks them down as abuse apologists.

    I think the difference b/w Kate and William's engagement interview and Meghan and Harry's interview was so telling. In Kate's interview, she was not afraid to reveal her uncertain position when it came to William, her initial nervousness about being aroudn him, her unhappiness about the fact that they had split up... she just came across as real. She came across as vulnerable, because she knew she was, that she didn't have control over the situation (because she didn't have control over William). But she accepted it. Instead of painting the story and herself and all rosy, she saw no reason to hide those maybe less flattering points in their relationship and that she wasn't happy with them at the time. That's what a normal person would do. During Meghan's interview, it's all literally unbelievable. A normal person would be like, "yeah sure, I heard about Harry. Who hasn't? I was nervous about meeting a prince and I couldn't really believe it." It's like at every turn she needs to paint herself as utterly perfect. It's pretty crazy actually.

    As a black woman, I’m just asking for *the truth*. Not the victim’s truth, not the abuser’s. THE TRUTH. Its known fact that people will perceive things in different ways, its natural. Thats why evidence is needed. Receipts and all. Just because you’re a woman, you’re black or another racial minority, your gay, trans whatever. I wanna be fair to you, I wanna believe you, and I sure as hell aint gonna belittle you for what you’re feeling. *But i need the evidence.* Its necessary when we live in a world where people would use such factors as weapons against others, to put others down in order to shine a better light on themselves. We’re striving for fairness to all right? Then lets do this the mature way.

    You just voiced my opinions on this perfectly. I find the way society is "progressing" so sad and free speech is absolutely dying out while people seem to believe that it is getting better and better. Social progress is creating a kind of dystopia in which people fear to even mention any controversial topics lest they be misunderstood, and people are forced into a set of opinions from which any divergence can cause them to be shunned by people around them. People's stories of victimhood get so ridiculous and farfetched and yet people are brainwashed into believing them, fearing that if they don't, they are morally wrong. Thank god some people are still willing to speak out about this. Good on you!

    Exactly. This "woke" movement convinces people that we must automatically believe a person was victimized without any actual proof or logic. Anyone who merely questions thems or shares their opposed opinion are automatically deemed a racist, "unconsciously biased" ,or bigoted. Its scary how a movement basically bullies people into silence in fear of being labeled these terms or even being "cancelled" if they have a large platform to express their opinions.

    I hope things have gotten better for you, and/or that good things continue to come your way, maybe even a new lady in your life. :) It is truly absurd to think that because us men are (on average) talller and physically stronger, no female partner can ever be abusive, dangerous and violent. Does a knife or a broken beer bottle not cut both women and men? Does fire not burn the flesh of anyone, male or female? To what extent does a man have to be hurt physically and damaged psychologically before we can say there is domestic violence and spousal abuse and he's the survivor not the perpetrator? That's what happened to Johnny Depp, and to yourself (but differently, I am sure). It's really offensive how people think being male somehow makes us impervious to insults and calumnies, emotional manipulation, and even physical hurt. I know saying "I'm sorry this happened to you" doesn't fix anything at all. I can only hope that there were and there still are good people in your life who helped you.

    i don't think it's fair to compare amber to meghan. amber literally is an abusive partner while meghan quit the royal family while only criticizing the royal institution, NOT the queen or the actual family. i agree that some details were definitely embellished to make her and harry's case stronger, but she is also raising valid concerns about the royal institution and how they treat members that don't fit their mold (ie diana.) it's more complex than just shutting her down completely when we know there have been major issues in the past. furthermore, that's why i think this counter to postmodern feminism is oftentimes flawed. the goal is to look at these hairy situations and not immediately draw a conclusion, but many hypocritically end up victim-blaming instead. i definitely see your point overall. we do need to think critically about these situations, but i would argue a historical lens adds context. of course, we shouldn't vilify anyone until there is a court decision or solid evidence. for example, we know that diana did not have the royal institution on her side and that she struggled with depression. we also know that harry is wary of the royal institution/ didn't really want to be a royal, and would likely have partner that didn't fit into the royal mold either. it makes sense. so with this context, but also knowing that meghan exaggerated some points, we can't really make a solid conclusion! and it's not like the royal family is truly suffering at the expense of her words. not everybody has to be a villain or oppressed. who knows what's happening with them at the end of the day. definitely not us.
