Got my license and my first bike in -74 and back then a 350 was considered a big bike. My first legal bike was a 100cc Kawasaki which was fine at the time. I grew up in Finland, and nobody had Harleys. The biggest bikes were 750cc, either Honda or Kawasaki. So what I´m getting at is that there is nothing wrong or nothing small with a 350, it is a proper motorcycle. And should be treated with the respect it deserves. It is quite enough to kill oneself, the top speed is enough for that. And even lesser speeds. I like your thinking around motorcycles, guess that´s why I watch your videos. And I´m gonna try a Meteor, I like the looks of it. My ride for the last ten years is a 750cc 64hp Kawasaki but I almost never use all of even that power, for fun riding the Meteor is propably enough.
Two weeks into owning my first bike, a Stellar Blue Meteor 350. Was at a work lunch in a restaurant this week and I could see my bike parked outside. It really was fun watching out the window seeing so many people stop and look at the Meteor. It surprised me how much attention it was getting.

Isn't it though. I've owned motorcycles my whole life and I still love doing the exact same thing! Cheers
10:57 for the Ronin glide across the screen😎 .....great video....I am 49, and I was Harley guy since I was a kid.....had a car accident in 2007 that took me off my '78 75th anniversary Sportster.....but after 12 years, I redid my 2000 Buell Blast (that I learned on in 2002) that was sitting for 16 years, and got back in the wind.....then bought a 2021 Himalayan, because I still had a few things to do to the Buell, and didn't want to be caught wrenching instead of riding again.....I LOVE my singles....I still have the Sportster to rebuild....is a twin great, sure.....are they heavy.....hell yeah.....especially them old iron heads.....LOL.....today? IT is all about the mileage....my Blast gets 70+, my Himilayan gets +75......I'd love to add a Meteor.....just don't have the room right now.....
My Stellar Blue Meteor is my first bike after 30+ years of wanting one. I couldn't have asked for a better machine to start on. Simply a gorgeous, fun machine that won't get a novice into too much trouble.
Saw your Ronin at 11:10 point. When I got n my 250 Honda Rebel, I initially questioned my purchase. Now, I realize 95% + of my riding is local off the Fwy/Hwy/Express Way. I can get almost anywhere from Santa Barbara to Pasaden to Whittier to Huntington Beach with minimal or no freeway. Sometimes I just don't want the constant stop and go through the urban areas and elect the fwy for expediency. But then it is under 40 miles, so, good. If I want to go long distance, I can rent a bike or car as needed.
Hello Ol Man Ronin, I really like your videos about the Meteor 350! I bought one just three weeks ago and I love it to ride on the backroads here in Germany 🤩 I'm 65 and had no bike for more than 43 years now and it's really fun to have this cute little awesome bike 👍 Greetings from Hamburg to Ohio.. @@primaveraimages Hello Luigi, yes, it is allowed to ride the Meteor with the A2 licence. If you are looking for a bike that makes you happy without much power and speed it is the best decision.
great video! spread the love of all things Royal Enfield .
Your reason for a Meteor is spot on. I turned 70 last week, and my knees are shot from hockey as a kid! So, this bike is so nice to ride on and easy to move around. Just perfect! Great video!

I tell you what Jeff, I tried a Meteor a few weeks back, and I thought it'd be way too small with my height at 6'3", but it felt just right! Just can't afford one, and I'm not losing the Himalayan to make space. So yes, I agree with everything you say. Incidentally that little feller just rode across my screen again, so there's an email on it's way. Cheers buddy.
I'd like to own a Meteor just to ride on the back roads. My wife almost always rides with me and we have rode over 300,000 miles in the last twenty years. My wife has also battled cancer eight times since 2010, with numerous surgeries, chemo therapy, immunotherapy treatments, radiation treatments and Cyber knife treatments. About three years ago she began having seizures so we went to a trike. I felt the same way you do, a trike is not a bike, it has one too many wheels. But we felt if she had a seizure on back of my Heritage it might cause us to have an accident injuring both of us and possibly others. Now we feel if she has a seizure on the back of our trike I should be able to pull over and tend to her needs without any injuries. I am on my second HD trike but only have 129 miles on it because she can't walk right now without the aid of a walker. We hope she will be able to walk and RIDE by the Spring of 2022. Prayers for my wife would be appreciated. The trike keeps us riding, even if it does have one too many wheels. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.
I had to watch this a second time. I wasn't awake yet the first time. Good morning and happy riding
Nailed it. The classic looks and the easy ergonomics sold me on my Fireball Red. 10:58
Great Vid! I spoke to Ron from RE North America and RE is coming out with a New Cruiser in ‘22. I’ve heard from You Tubers it will either use the Meteor platform or similar and have the INT 650 engine. Would be right up my alley! Guess I’ll just have to wait and see what the final bike looks like. Cheers from Salem, Ohio.
Great vid as usual. I mentioned on your last vid how I was dreading the first snow. Well it made it here today 34 and snowing. Bring on spring. Lol. 10:57 Thanks for the chance!
Today I had the opportunity to test drive the Meteor. Now I know what everyone is so excited about. I immediately reserved one for the spring.

all i want for christmas is my RE Meteor 350 stellar black delivered :D
Good morning Jeff! You're right on again about the Meteor. I'm over 1500 miles now on the Fireball yellow and getting same gas mileage as you. It's also an extremely comfortable bike that I think handles very well too. Counter steering is even better than my INT 650 which is also a great handler. When you get a RE twin to review I think you will be amazed at how easy they are to service. Better than the Meteor. I've been watching some of your past vlogs and THANK YOU for emphasizing how important it is to warm up a cold engine and the tip on the HWK riding gear. Take care!
Back in the 70's I would build VW trikes for older bikers that wanted to continue riding. I never liked driving them which I had to do to make sure they tracked correctly and everything worked properly. I'm in my mid 60's now and slightly disabled too. I had the opportunity to buy an antique Soviet Union KMZ Dnepr military sidecar motorcycle and did a couple of years ago. It had very few kilometers on it because you must take all Soviet Union vehicles apart and reassemble them right out of the factory which was never done to the sidecar motorcycle I found in a barn, which it why it sat in a barn for 27 years. I found it to be so much better than a standard trike. I get tons of respect driving it unlike a trike. I enjoy it so much I put a Velorex sidecar on my Honda Shadow. The Soviet bike is fine for running around town because it's top speed is 45 mph but obviously not for getting on the interstate highways. I can do 70 mph with the sidecar on my Shadow without any problems and it makes riding so much more enjoyable due to my age and disability. It's a shame Harley Davidson stopped sidecar motorcycle sales and started pushing trike's instead. I've had several older bikers tell me they would start riding again if Harley Davidson was still selling sidecar motorcycles. They refuse to ride those "oversized mobility scooters" Harley sells now.
Great video, thanks! Over 60 now and I once rode bikes but for various reasons haven't touch a bike for 20 years. Have been doing a ton of research on-line and get the feeling that a Meteor might be my best option to get skills back up without being intimidated, and most importantly having fun at the same time. Probably get a Stella but only if I can remove that rear backrest- just doesn't look right to me!
Great video with a no nonsense approach and oodles of sensibility, can’t wait to get out on my new supernova when the weather’s right.

IMO if you do local riding.. commuting and back roads the smaller bikes are really hard to beat. So much fun and nimble compared to a large road bike. Different story if you run down the highways all days lol
Hi Ronin Yep agree with all that you say. And I look forward to seeing the next new Royal Enfield motorcycles that will be brought out very soon. Small displacement motorcycles are definitely on the up. Anyway keep well. Bye Stuart 😊🏴... Oh saw the little motorcycle at 10:57

80-90 mpg is a plus!! cheap thrills
Thinking of you Sir. I hope you are pain free and the best you can be.
i bought a royal enfeild two years ago and i love it i had two problems a slight oil leak and a speedo failure both of which were sorted on warrantee i get 80 mpg and it is such a fun bike to ride and excelent value for money it is a clasic bike with all the modern features i love it to bits
Great video;-)

Great bike! Bought one 3 months ago. Fun, cheap but stylish with quality. Regards from Italy
I am primarily a commuter rider and fuel economy is very high on my list. 80 + mpg is very impressive! That is usually what a 125 - 250 gets.
Nice dude 😎🤟
little Ronin passed at 10:57 . And you're right fuel prices are rocketing high, today I saw 1.85 euro for one liter, for gallon you have to multiply by 4.5, so yeah it gets quite expensive.

congratulations on your meteor 350 excellent small but good quality motorcycle does not need one more
get continental gt u will love it xD..... interceptor its closest thing to feel the thrills of Harley.... although its better than harleys 750cc bike i do not quite remember it's name
Finally saw and sat on a Meteor yesterday and liked it a lot. I've been eyeing the INT 650 for a while, but am eagerly awaiting the Classic 350. I prefer the standard look and ergonomics over cruisers. I think I would still enjoy the Meteor quite a bit though. As you mentioned, my main reason and joy of riding is getting away into the countryside and I'm still a young one at 45. stamp 11:00.

Did exactly the same as you and as soon as I sat on a meteor thar sealed the deal. Bin waiting since June and she finally arrived last week , now waiting on the British weather 😂 by the way I’m a young 68!!
90 miles out of a U. S. gallon is extraordinarily good. I’m getting around 73 per imperial gallon on the 650 GT and 83 imperial gallon on the Himalayan. Lil’ Ronin came past at 10:57 for me 🙂
Danke!

Wish Meteor inherited some of the design elements from the Thunderbird, which in my opinion, is still the better looking of the two - that beautiful oval tail lamp set high up in the rear, the classy chrome panels to hold tools, the free space between the rear wheel and the smaller rear mudguard, the shape and placement of the headlamp shell, the projector light beam! Give us the technology and performance of the Meteor with the looks of the T'bird.

I have a 2006 Sportster 1200L and love it. Gas in the Phoenix, AZ area is over $4 a gallon in most places. I have a Honda Rebel 250 which gets great gas mileage, but it has tube type tires, and there is no way to fix a flat on the road. So I was thinking about getting a Meteor to replace it. But it turns out that the Rebel, with 100cc less displacement, is actually faster than the Meteor. Even country roads here are 65 mph, and most everybody goes 75 mph, so there is a high risk of getting run over from behind, because the so called "drivers" around here don't pay any attention to what they are doing. I have ridden the Rebel at full throttle, 80 mph GPS, for hours at the time. From what I understand, the Meteor won't do that. Plus they are not inexpensive around here. Around $6500 OTD for the Supernova model.
Wise words brother it's not all about speed it's nice to look around you and keep an eye for little Ronan varmints 🤣. I bought my Himalayan exactly for the reasons you mentioned been on bikes over 40 years and at 68 years young find the 1200 GSA a bit heavy for me now. Still have her for longer Rideout's but the Himalayan is my go to bike gets you there quick enough and at less money petrol in Ireland is costly too! 👍 Medium if I'm lucky 😜 B.

I have always wanted some HD rider to review RE bikes. Thanks for doing it. Back in India motorcycles are mainstay for our day to day commute and they fall in range from 100cc to 150cc. RE and other companies like Jawa and Yezdi are coming up with really good bikes with modest power and comfort of cruising. Do review Yezdi Roadster, Scrambler and Jawa 42.

Its great for city & twisties . If you want to go on Motorway or Highway You want something with bit more power. my best choice would be CB500X Honda 2022. its 500cc parallel twin makes 47 bhp and gives 75-85 mpg depending on US gallon or Imperial gallon. Wait for Meteor 650
Can't go past your style. 1058 ✌
Hi Jeff, thanks a lot for your videos. I am 60 and did not ride for 38 years. I live in Munich near the alps. I am not sure wether I buy the himalayan or Meteor. I am 183 cm tall. Is the Meteor much easier to ride than the Himalayan? Kind regards Thomas
@jonathandeeley6276
2 жыл бұрын
Grertings from the UK. Yes, the Meteor is easier, had the Himalayan for 11 months before I bought my Meteor. The Himalayan is a great bike but the Meteor takes it to the next level with build quality. The reason I parted company with my Himalayan was purely on comfort. The standard seat leaves a lot to be desired whereas the Meteor stock seat is the most comfortable I've ever had. Secondly, for me is the seat height and the higher centre of gravity on the Himalayan, I found it very difficult to manoeuvre around- I have a 32" in seam. The Meteor is a bargain, great fun to ride, very comfortable on long journeys, and build quality up there with the premium brands. Negatives? Can't really think of any, if you read to much into the data for the bike you wouldn't bother with a test ride, also you need to understand the ethos of Enfield single thumpers, but above all you must take it for the all important test ride and I'm sure you'll find that's where it will shine and give a good account of itself, they really are a great bike.🙂👍
@OlManRonin
2 жыл бұрын
Thomas, its a matter of what you want the bike to do. If you seldom or ever go off-road, then the Meteor is best choice. If you ride gravel and dirt trails, by far the Himalayan is best. Test ride both, determine you riding needs and style then make an informed decision. Cheers Thomas and thank you.

Why? Quality, value for money and low running costs, plus, there's no real political baggage with India, its people and its products. I suspect that if this exact same bike came from China, it wouldn't be so popular.
